  • Me again - just thought I'd share some depressing statistics _pale_

I've been on the Wii fit this afternoon.

I am 3 stone & 10 lbs heavier than when I was last on (didn't go back to see when that was but I think it was last year). Bearing in mind I've already lost 10lbs, so I would have been even heavier if I hadn't started LCing.

I've gone from the middle of the overweight category (BMI 27 something) to well into the obese category (BMI 35 something) since I was last on.

On the plus side, I've just burned off 136 calories doing 26 minutes of exercises on there.

Hmmm, methinks I have a loooong way to go...

Don't despair! It can be done. As they say when tightrope walking..............don't look down (or back):D 10 lbs is good going, :j:j:j:j <<<< plenty more of these :D

Quiet again today, where is everyone?

sweet - you are moving in the right direction and that is what matters. Maybe we all need to remember how easy it is to put weight back on if we go back to our old ways of eating ;)
When I started last year I was morbidly obese with a BMI over 40 but now my BMI is 32.7, still obese so I am trying to get down to below 30 where I will be happy. Those of you that are near goal, well done, you have a right to be proud of yourselves. For me, I already have lots of hanging flesh and think that if I go right down it will look even worse.

For some reason Dukan suggests a much higher goal weight than other sites, about 1 and a half stone heavier. Mercy do you know why this is? As it happens that is where I am happy to be but I still need to lose another 22lb to get there.

alias - will be thinking of you tomorrow. I hope that it goes well for you :)

I will have had 50 carbs today as I am out with my middle brother tonight. Going to Zizzi's as I have a tastecard for 2 for 1. They do a really nice beetroot and ricotta salad, inc artichoke hearts and asparagus. I also have a chicken breast added and finish with a cappuccino. No breadsticks - he can have those.

    Have a good evening.

    Hi Sheila! I'm here!

It's one of the things I like about Dukan. It's realistic. He's French and wants all ladies to look good. :D

If I went back to my 9.5 stone days (I'm 44 and 5'7'') I'd look thin and haggard. I'll be happy when I get to 11st as I'll still have enough fat to stop me being too wrinkly and old looking :rotfl:

I think Dukan pays more attention to age and how best we can remain beautiful. This higher weight is also more easily achievable than struggling to become even thinner and we can be happier sooner. :j

    I thoroughly approve.

There's also a good argument to be made for us naturally increasing a little in weight as we get older and, if the statistics are to be believed, it not being bad for us! IIRC the figures demonstrate a likelihood of a longer life if you're not skinny as a rake.

  • Morning :hello:

Thanks Gray & SHEILA for the kind words :)

I'm going back on the Wii today & will track back to find out exactly when I was 3st10lbs lighter than I am now :( I knew I'd put loads of weight on but seeing it in black & white on the Wii yesterday was quite upsetting.
We had a horrible time as a family at the end of last year & I know I was doing an awful lot of comfort/emotional eating at that time, still seems a lot of weight to put on in possibly just one year though :(

    Anyway, meals for today:

B1 - greek yoghurt & flaxseed (I'll be glad when this packet of flaxseed is finished so I can try the other one :o)
    B2 - cheese omelette
L - 2 buttered GG crispbreads with salmon/red onion mayo
D - 2 cod in butter sauce, cheesy cauli mash, broccoli, cheesy leeks

Exercise - wii fit (will try for 30 minutes today), at least 1 x 20 minute walk (being honest, I couldn't be bothered to do this yesterday :(), push-ups (forgot to do them yesterday :wall:)

Hope everyone is well - I'm missing jerry, sister, marrbett & everyone else who hasn't posted for a while, hope they're all ok

    Morning all.

Well, well, 3 days without flax and 1/2 kilo gone. Coincidence? I stuffed my face yesterday as well - good things, but felt really full.
Sheila, might I suggest having a week off flax yourself to see if it makes any difference? It might not be flax, it might be me, but you never know?

Sweet, the Wii is notorious for strange weigh-ins - I've got one myself - is it on a completely flat surface? even carpet isn't good. I'm glad you said it yourself, but I thought after reading, that you must have been going some to put that amount of weight on!

When we were renovating the house, I didn't have the time or energy to cook so we had takeaways and loads of carbs and I put on 3/4 stone in 9 months. I can't get my head round 4 stone!

Weight aside, does it feel like 4 stone, do you look 4 stone heavier, have you got any pictures you can compare with?

Hi everyone, I'm still around but reading mostly as I'm trying to keep up with the thread about the glitch going on at a*da, and its very fast moving.
Basically, if you buy certain products, they are matching at silly prices on the apg(price guarantee thingy), so my fridge is stocked up with lake district cheese(90p per pack) and cleaning products/shampoo/nivea etc. Its hard work, but financially worth it. Am finding it abit addictive though, and it is taking over my life!!

I'm not doing too bad foodwise, the dark choc with hazlenuts disappeared too quickly, but generally am following the rules!!

Have a good day, much love to all.xx
  • marrbett, the glitch sounds good, hope you get lots of bargains :D

murphy, I can't get my head round 4 stone either - 4st6lbs to be precise :(
I tracked back on the Wii & it's actually nearly 20 months ago that I last used it. If my Maths is correct, that's just over 3lbs of blubber for every month.
I don't think I look 4st heavier, but maybe I do to other people?? I know I'm fatter than I was. I'm sure I have that body dysmorphia condition, but I think I look slimmer than I actually am, whereas most sufferers think they're fat when they're not :o Or maybe I'm just in denial :o

Oh well, it is what it is & I am what I am.

Did 31 minutes on the Wii today & burned 191 calories

I think I must be anorexic.
Everytime I look in the mirror I see a fat bird.

    Tadaaa!

    I'm here all week! :rotfl:

    Hey peepls!

I'm still drinking about 750mls of veg juice everyday, split into before breakfast, before lunch and before evening meal.

Each meal has then been protein.

Today I weigh 1kg less than I did last Thursday. :j

If this is still true tomorrow I can call it another 2lbs closer to where I want to be.

Will measure tomorrow as well as I'd like to see just what has happened since the start of my adventure in juicing :)
