Just been to Lidl as they have veg offers on again and I've saved myself going in the early morn.
Pointed cabbage - 49p (heavy n solid)
1kg carrots - 49p (dry and nice looking in bag)
Gala apples 1kg - £1.49 (7 nice apples)
Big cucumber - 59p
Fresh figs 4 for £1
Celery - 59p
Cabbage n carrots are on special, rest just seem good value compared to asda's offerings.
They will be doing 1kg vine toms for £1,50 over the weekend. Will pop in again tomorrow but all the heavy lifting has been done so not too bad
Happy weekend!

Hiya all
Not been posting, but have been reading.
2 week ago I had a bad asthma attack and my sister drove me to their walk in centre so got steriods and antibiotics and am back to being ok. my fault totally as blue inhaler ran out but cos i was low carbing i thought i was ok but i had a cough for months and then staying at my sister with her cats it just got too much. note to self - DONT RUN OUT OF INHALER
Anyway since then i have been extra strict with my food and no cheating and havent for 2 weeks and lost 5lbs :T
But i had to share what my husband just said to me, bearing in mind a typical day menu for me is hm yogurt (with berries if i ever remember to get them out of freezer) or omlette for breakfast, ham salad for lunch and meat with veg/salad for tea. He just told me its not healthy whilst sat there eat a packet of crisps and has a choccy bar to eat next. he has eaten breakfast of cereal, lunch of cheese sandwich with packet of crisps and tea he had pizza with no veg on. so no fruit/veg at all today. and i am the unhealthy one
Even the kids are eating omlette for breakfast now instead of cereal and asked for cucumber in their lunch box  Must be doing somthing right
Mercy - i just bought carrots in aldi, gonna stock up when i go to lidl this weekend now
i dont eat them but the kids love them. dont think i have ever bought pointed cabbage but will stock up on that as well. have a weekend of chopping and freezing i think

Hey nutty! :hello:
Well done on the loss! 5lbs is excellent :j
Nice to see you again - hope you get the asthma under control. Do you take vit d? I've heard it can help with that sort've thing.
Kiddies wanting omlet? And cucumber? Nicely done! :j
Hubby is in denial - if he admitted your lovely food was the way he'd have to do it himself :rotfl: And he's not ready :rotfl:
I've not tried the 'pointed cabbage' yet but I imagine it's all cabbagey like they are. The carrots are v good. I juiced about 3 of them (they're quite large in my bag) and much juice was emitted :rotfl: so I imagine they'll be fine for much. When you go in tomorrow, don't forget to take a look at the toms - cheap but see what you think.
Glad you on again,

not sure about hubby. have mentioned him before. he is (last time he told me) 19stone and really needs to lose weight and low carb. he gets bad heartburn, breathing problems and sleep apnea. doctor wont do anything, says breathing is in his mind but i have seen him and its not. but he doesnt help himself either.i dont think he will ever be ready, he eats bad carbs at every meal. he is very upset i got him bran flakes and brown bread to make it a bit better :rotfl:
glad i am not the only one not tried the pointed cabbage. :rotfl:

Morning all :hello:
A disappointing 1lb off this morning - yeah, I know it's going in the right direction, but I need 2lb a week as I have so much to lose. Will try & up the exercise.
Jerry, nice to have you back, hope you enjoyed your fish & mushy peas!!
nutty, sorry to hear about the asthma attack, must have been very scary, hope you're ok now. Well done on the 5lbs off!! :j
Forgot to say, I was in Tesc0 yesterday & I noticed there were quite a few half-price items in the 'frozen fish' department. I got Birds Eye 'Bake to Perfection' cod fillets with olive oil, rosemary & tomato sauce - 1.3g carbs per portion (2 portions in the box) for £1.99 - going to try it tonight. They also had Young's cod in butter sauce for £1.99 - 4 portions & quite low carb. They did have other cheap fishy offerings as well, but I can't remember them now.
Meals for today:
B1 - greek yoghurt & flaxseed
B2 - bacon & eggs
L - 2 buttered GG crispbreads with topping & (hopefully) HM veggie soup
D - fish (as above), green beans, sprouts, cauli, broc
Exercise - walking & lots of it, wall push-ups, no Wii today
Have a good LC day everyone :wave:0 -

If it's any consolation, mine reckons low carbing is unhealthy too.
His lunch for work usually consists of 2 apples, a banana and some crackers. Then he'll still be hungry so he'll have a low fat yoghurt....then maybe a choc bar.....:rotfl:
Nothing wrong with fruit as long as it's part of a generally healthy eating thing, but he seems to think fruit is the answer to everything. He completely misses the amount of sugar and carb he's eating and ignores the fact that protein isn't involved or that sugar has been added to the low fat yoghurt to make it taste better. (Although to be fair, he's beginning to think more about that bit after seeing a thing on tv about it.)
It's years of indoctrination I think.
Now...changing the subject........
I neglected to mention when I was telling you all about my hypno thing, that hypno chappy focused more on things other than food and eating for the initial session. He reckoned I needed to deal with other baggage first before I could successfully deal with my food issues.
My eating hasn't really changed BUT my reactions to certain situations seem to. I know it's early days but there are two types of situation which I would have usually acted in a certain way but when they happened I didn't react the same way, I was surprisingly calm about one of them and quite pro-active about the other. Normally I would have been angry and defeatist.
Coincidence or fact, who knows. I'm happy to believe there are changes afoot though.
Oh and the past two nights have been the longest I've slept in months/years(?)I normally fall asleep then toss and turn all night, the longest period I sleep for on a good night is 4 hours absolute tops. Last 2 nights I slept for 6 hours in one unbroken length each time.
Maybe if he has had an effect on me now, he might be able to have an effect on my eating next time.
I feel like one of those Churchy peeps who stand in the congregation yelling 'I believe'. :rotfl:
sweet....you know we're gonna say it....a pound off is great, it's sooo much better than a pound on.Herman - MP for all!0 -
Hi everyone, not posted for a while as been busy getting DD2 ready for Uni. We are going shopping today to get most of what she needs. She goes next Sunday
In regards to weight I put on a pound the week before going to Scotland, and a pound the week after. This week since being back to proper low carbing I've lost 3lb so now back on track:DWeight loss 0/2st
Inch loss = 0"

This extra sleep you are getting will help enormously in every other area. We all cope better with adequate sleep. A 50% increase in your sleeping must feel very nice
Glad you've come over all Evangelistic about this. I kinda know what you mean as when my e-cig made stopping smoking pathetically easy, I just had to keep 'witnessing' :rotfl:
Glad you are positive, it's good to hear. And if you even THINK of leaving I'll hunt you down and put worms in your pyjamas. There. I said it. :rotfl:
Big love

Hiya
Mercy - those tomatoes at lidl looked really nice. if i hadnt bought 2 packs in aldi i would have had them.and i shouldnt really be eating tomatoes anyway but i still do.
Aliasojo - mine would eat fruit unless its those innocent smoothes. i dread to think about how much sugar is in them! but he thinks its healthy! thats good you are getting more sleep, i think i read that getting the right amount of sleep helps with losing weight.
Sweet - thanks. i was just wondering why you had 2 breakfasts. do you find having 4 meals a day you lose more than having 3 meals?
I went to lidl and stocked up. i even got the large mushrooms that are half price. i dont like mushrooms but i had one of them this morning grilled and put silton on. it was quite nice.0
