I tracked back on the Wii & it's actually nearly 20 months ago that I last used it. If my Maths is correct, that's just over 3lbs of blubber for every month.
I don't think I look 4st heavier, but maybe I do to other people?? I know I'm fatter than I was. I'm sure I have that body dysmorphia condition, but I think I look slimmer than I actually am, whereas most sufferers think they're fat when they're notOr maybe I'm just in denial
Oh well, it is what it is & I am what I am.
Did 31 minutes on the Wii today & burned 191 calories
If I were you I'd get myself weighed properly. Or set the thing up in different places until you get the best result, then leave it there
I do have scales at home but the batteries have gone and last time I changed them I 'put on' 8lbs. In 2 days :rotfl:
Luckily I can weigh at work on industrial scales (:rotfl:) which are calibrated each month. I can wear my toecaps and fleece as I do every morning. So I am just measuring the difference as I lose but not my actual weight. I guess that taking 2kg off whatever weight it registers is reasonably accurate
This gives me a phantom lower weight as I'm sure all my clothes and heavy shoes weigh more than 2kg. One day, I'll have scales I trust and be nicely surprised :rotfl:

Hope everyone is well - I'm missing jerry, sister, marrbett & everyone else who hasn't posted for a while, hope they're all ok
Hello
I still lurk a bit.. old habits die hard
Doing well, now 13.12 (was 15.10) its been 13 weeks exactly.. so it still evens out at 2lb per week
My sore feet, knees and ankles have really improved no end too.
Been for a lovely meal with friends today and altho i ate loads at one sitting as a one off treat (all counted and only slightly over) i didnt get that awful bloated feeling i usually get and was still quite energetic to have more retail therapy
Lets all keep up the good work!0 -
Yoo hoo! I'm back.
All suitably hypnotised and feeling more slender by the minute.:rotfl:
Seriously though I'm not sure what to make of it. Bloke was lovely and we talked so much that the app ended up being much longer than expected. I'm 'interesting' apparently. :rotfl: From a purely 'weird head' pov.I told him I wanted 'stage hypno'......the kind where you're told you're a duck and you immediately start quacking. :rotfl: I wanted him to tell me chocolate tasted like tripe and potatoes were evil.
I wasn't convinced gentle suggestion would be enough and I just wanted made to act differently. I was joking but I kinda secretly meant it.
Anyway, he reckoned I have a few issues I need to work through, mostly stemming from my parents, back when I was young. It was a bit like seeing a shrink, but what he said seemed to make sense. It explained why I use food the way I do and why it's an issue now rather than when I was in my 20's for example.
The actual 'hypno' bit was odd, I couldn't seem to imagine certain things...music for instance, I couldn't 'hear' it in my mind yet I could sing lyrics in my head. Trying to focus on just a piece of music with no lyrics was an impossibility for me. I also couldn't imagine whole pictures, so I could visualise a staircase but not what was above it or below it, it was just a free floating set of stairs. :rotfl:
Anyway, I left feeling ok and I do intend to have another appointment so fingers crossed.Herman - MP for all!0 -

DUCK! :rotfl:

alias - glad that it went well. Next time you can go without worrying.
sweet - it is strange but I can believe that it is possible to put on weight in that way. When I was 19 I wanted to wear a bikini on a youth holiday so I had 500 calories a day for 6 months to get to the required weight for my height. On that holiday i ate normally and when I came back, after 2 weeks, I had put on 2 stone  This is the absolute truth. I also started the pill, all those years go, and in 5 months put on 3 stone and my GP had to take me off it. I started it 3 months before I got married and had to have my wedding dress taken out as it wouldn't fit me. That is why, no matter what the GP says, I must stay on the lower carb side as I am scared of putting the weight back on.
The good thing is that you are doing something about it, and losing weight proves it, so you will get down again and it will be worth it
murphydog - thanks for the tip. I am away for a few days from Sunday so I won't take the flax with me and see what happens. The problem is that i will be eating out so I will carry it on when i get back and see if it makes a difference.
Mercy - you are right, Dr Dukan is kind, and maybe tries to be realistic. My family and friends think that I should stay where I am now but I am still 22lb from Dukan weight and 3 stone from a BMI of 25.. Glad that you are doing well and enjoying juicing. What is your favourite juice?
daska - you are kind and yes, I think that being old and skinny just makes ius look scrawny. A balance in all things.
mazzers - you are doing really well. So glad that you feel better and have lost weight
sistercas, jerry, newbies - where are you?0 -
Morning all.
I was ravenous when I came home last night and OH had made a chicken dinner in the slow cooker so I sat down at 8.30pm and had the works.
When I was away yesterday, I had a meat and potato pie and a buttered roll for lunch.
This morning I lost a pound. :rotfl: So that's 10lb off in total since I started again this time (despite the fact I've yo-yo'd twice within that time).
I wonder if my scales are knackered?
Anyway, I'm not dieting anymore, I'm simply going to 'make good food choices'(which clearly doesn't involve meat and potato pies, I do realise
)
Can I still hang around as long as I don't talk about 'bad' things?
I wont be properly low carbing but I do intend my food choices to be 'lower' carb wherever possible.
I wont have anyone to talk to about being a fat git if you lot evict me.:D

Lol.
No Sheila, I am.
I'm a 'spade is a spade' kinda gal. I tell it like it is.
Doesn't mean I feel all 'woe is me' about it, it's just a term.
I'm off to have breakkie. :wave:Herman - MP for all!0 -
Morning all :hello:
alias, this thread wouldn't be the same without you, so of course you have to stay
mazzers, good to see you on here & still doing well :j
Mercy, I wish my scales were kaput, but the Wii says the same(ish) weight, as did the Drs. when I was there a few weeks ago. I actually felt a teeny bit better when I worked out that I'd put on approximately 3lbs a month for 20 months, it didn't sound quite as bad as 4st6lbs overall, iyswimSHEILA, I agree, I think I'm also living proof that it's possible to put on a huge amount of weight in a relatively short period of time
Meals for today:
B1 - greek yoghurt & flaxseed
B2 - cheese omelette
L - 2 buttered GG crispbreads with topping (to be decided)
D - slow-cooked gammon, cauli, broc, cheesy leeks
Exercise - I've already done 30 minutes on the Wii (173 calories burned) & I'll do at least 1 x 20 minute walk later, plus some wall push-ups. Bl00dy Wii told me I'd put a little bit of weight on since yesterday - grrrr!!
I really must make some soup this weekend - I still have the butternut squash (good job it keeps as I've had it weeks) & I have gammon stock in the freezer from the last time I slow-cooked gammon, plus I'll have today's stock as well. It's getting chilly here now so a big bowlful of HM soup would go down extremely well
Anyway, hope everyone is well - have a good LC day :wave:0 -
Hi all. My PC is playing up and MSE site comes up in a very disorganised way. Anyway, All good with me. Started smoking again, but that's ok. will try again to give up shortly.
Good to catch up what everybody is up to.
Ground Almonds are 1 pound for 150g in Asda. Asda's own brand. That's very cheap... so i'm off there to stock up. Hope this helps someone.. I love using ground almonds in place of flour to enjoy the things I miss now that I'm on a low carb diet.
Tonight, is the usual fish n chips, without the chips for me. Might have a dollop of mushy peas though.. which i'm aware aren't exactly zero carb, but they are low enough carb for my purposes.
I hope everybody has a great lc week-end.0
