Skin so Soft contains citronella oil which is supposed to deter the little biters but I think that it has to be renewed every 45 mins and I must admit that it is not uppermost in my thinking most of the time.

daska - thanks for the encouragement

Jerry, jerry, jerry - I can cover up and they will get my cheek, my neck or under my clothes. Very persistent and they do like being around the computer!!!

My waist hip ratio is 0.845 so not ideal I suppose but better than some.

murphydog - prayers, fingers and toes crossed x

What are we doing on page 2? Are we all out stocking up on vitamin D perhaps? We're just about to wander down the road and have a bbq on the beach - we are so spoiled here with miles of sand :D

Will be interesting to see if they work. Quite expensive but mine were £12 yesterday so not bad. Think I should have got some socks too to wear with my sandals lol

    Hi Mercy

Let me know if they help as I am covered in lumps :D
    How is your back?

daska - how are you today?

Walked to the shops and carried bags back - cauliflower, broccoli, berries, sausages, 70% chocolate. I still can't believe that I can walk at a reasonable speed for a mile without stopping or getting out of breath. It is truly wonderful.
20 wall press ups as well and will try to increase next week.

Isn't life easier when the sun shines :).

That is so good Sheila! You get little reminders everyday that you have done and are doing something so good for yourself :j Can't be beat :D Really pleased you can see these lovely differences and put aside the everyday need to do better / be better / all quicker. :T

My back is so much better, thanks. I'm still holding myself straight so's I don't provoke anything unpleasant, but so much better. Funnily enough, having to hold myself straight seems to have exercised my stomach muscles some :rotfl: May continue this :D

I'm still having an olfactory adventure after stopping the fags. Public transport is a little hairy  but smelled something sheepy today as I went downstairs - it's my old sheepskin sat at the top far end on the coat rack :rotfl: Never smelled that like that before :D Will leave it where it is as I know it's there. That coat has been so good to me over the years that I quite liked that sniff today. ;)

    Yes, sunshine makes everything better.

When it comes to biting things, well, I've always been tastier than other people :) My Dad told me that when I was small as me n him got bit but Mum n sis didn't. He reckoned they must taste bad :D aww, what a nice Dad. :D

The whole thing took a step up when in 1989 I was on Isle of Skye camping. A sunday - when no shops ever opened - I was eaten by evil midges so badly that 1 eye closed and my mouth swelled up so bad I spilled drinks like I'd been novocained.

Ever since any mozzie, midge etc has provoked a serious reaction in me. Why can't they much down without injecting nastyness? I'd happily put a half thimbleful of my own tasty blood on the table so they could drink their fill everyday than suffer the frankly horrific reaction. We're talking massive swellings and scarring:eek:

Will be enduring mozzies in Switzerland in October. Got stuff for bedroom and my new pants :D Will just have to hope for the best :rotfl:

We had such a great time at the olympics-the atmosphere was something I'll never forget.
Off camping next week-the oldest two are going to a church camp, the rest of us are going to Cornwall-apparently its gonna rain there next week!!!

I've stocked my daughter up with tins of stew/chicken/tinned veg and she's gonna eat lots of eggs and bacon whist she's there!!
Interesting to see if she resists all the carbs that will be around her.
Anyone else done LC camping-is it very challenging?
  • Well, I feel slimmer and more toned. But I'm not going to weigh myself until next wed. Today, I've changed gas/elec supplier using this site. I've gone from British Gas to Scottish someone saving over #200 per year. I'm trying hard to see where we can save the penniies. Have sold a lot of stuff on ebay which is keeping us going. I've gone four months without a job and I have to admit, its getting worrying now. We went to Asda tonight, with change from piggy bank. Slightly embarrasing, but hey.. there are loads of people like us in the same boat.

What gets me is that there are people without jobs going on holidays (my sister for one)... and we can't even buy food for the next four weeks. We are lucky that we have frozen stuff in freezer and I have an interview on monday with yet another job agency. I hope they give me some work.

I am registered with about 6 employment agencies whom I email regularly and I have had a total of 8 hours work this month. And three days in June and July. Nothing in April, May. In the 80's.. I would sign with an agency on the friday and be in work from Monday.., wishing I could cut myself in two as I was so spoilt for choice. Bad Times!

I have a few bits of jewellery that I have my eye on to sell. We also have the option of selling our car for approx 3 grand... and buying a 300 pound runaround.. so we are not dead in the water yet!

Sorry to have a moan, but If I cant do it here, where can I ? Hope everybody has a lovely friday evening! The ONLY WAY IS UP!

    L: Boiled eggs x 2 (asda 30 for 3 pounds)
D: Fish (whoopsies from 4 pound down to 56pence!
Loads of water.. approx 2 litres

    SnacK: Some whoopsied cheese.

Hey Jerry, the self service tills let you put in as many little coins as you like. I've used this when I only have a bit of spare change to get essentials.

Also, my local asda has reduced items at early morn saturday ~ 8am and same around 2-3pm weekdays. I only buy meat on whoops if possible so that's how I know :) Try and find out your local stores times. Can be worth it esp LCing.

No need to be embarrassed not here or anywhere. Money is tight.

The only way is up indeed! :j:beer:

    Much love
