Gosh it's been quiet in here the last few days. I've packed DS1/2 off to the beach - an advantage of having 10 years between them. I thought lovely, some quiet time just for meeeeee.... I'll just do x... and 2 hours later I'm still 'doing'. Time to go and enjoy the last of the sunEat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan

Hi all, i'm still around. Haven't been a very good girl. Have been eating a lot of carbs. They just sneak in. However, I'm going to start again tomorrow.
Another good reason to go low carb and stick to it, is that it helps with diabetes, which is something I didn't know. My dad has diabetes, so there is a strong chance I will get it.
Going to get my skates on and get Low carbing again as of tomorrow! I will do it! I will do it!
Tonight, i'm making a bit of a start. I'm having chicken with cauliflour cheese.0 -
If anyone has still got their fingers crossed for me - big thanks - you can relax now. We are back on track, the offer was accepted and we can continue. Phew!
Been thoroughly enjoying the Olympics, very inspirational; haven't seen any of it on the TV, but have always wanted to try fencing (not the wooden variety!), it's a sport you don't see advertised much.0 -

Woohoo!! Great news murphy! I hope it all continues smoothly from now on.
Am still plodding on, but am succumbing to crema di mascarpone ice-cream (2 days running now!!) with my blueberries, strawberries and hemp seed!! Trying to kid myself its not too bad , but deep down, I know better!!
Ah well, I am being such a good girl otherwise!!0 -
A very early good morning everyone :hello:
It has been quiet on here hasn't it - I'm lurking but still not LCing at the mo. It was my Birthday yesterday & DD's tomorrow, so it's meals out, wine & Birthday cake galore here!! :rotfl:
Will have a read of the DM article when I've woken up a bit, thanks for posting it skymist.

Hope everyone (else) is doing well. I'll be back soon... :wave:0 -
Morning too,
I've been keeping my head down a bit hereNot so much high carb food, and too much low(ish) carb food. Like yesterday, I ate almost a whole bag of salted pistachios instead of my usual handful. And bowls and bowls of strawberries and cream. Well, they're on offer at the moment
I daren't get weighed or measured. But I promise to do better next week
Great news about the house murphy :j
Hope you had a lovely birthday yesterday sweet, and hope everyone manages to enjoy some sunshine (and the Olympics) today0 -

I'm now past LCing, which i then followed with Zero carbing and am now doing Jack Kruses' Epi -Paleo RX which is seafood centered, and is presented in his Brain/Gut series, which, if anyone is interested, starts here..

A quick question for mercy or daska if you're reading - or anyone else who might be able to answer -
I made my first successful brew of GBP last week, and it's delicious. The thing is, can I re-use the grated ginger or do I have to put fresh in every time? My first attempt I used chopped ginger and tied it in a bit of sterilised cloth, but the flavour wasn't that strong. Next time I grated the ginger and sewed it into a little bag, but it's a bit fiddly. The flavour is perfect, but it's a pain to do. I've just started a fresh batch and dropped the ginger bag back in. Will it hurt my poor little GBP?
Sorry this is not really lc-ing0 -
Morning everyone
I am coming and going from home at lot over the school holidays with various grandchildren but will try to keep up. Been away for the past few days but it seems to have been quiet.
murphydog - I am so pleased that it is working out, the relief must be enormous
sweet - hope that your birthday celebrations go well and you have a good time
daska - I hope that you have enjoyed your peace.
sistercas & Minihauk - well done with keeping it up.
Gray Malkin & Jerry, jerry, jerry - I understand. I have been quite good but succumbed to extra nuts and a portion tiramasu recently. I now have to get back on the straight and narrow and see if the extra has kickstarted my weight loss.
Mercy - how was your weekend?
Have a good day and I hope that everyone is ok.0
