Dont recall a linky but someone else will if there was one :)

I'd try cutting them out for a week or two and see for yourself. We are all different so can only truly know if we try it. Is it you who has the problem? If so I assume you are keeping a food diary or similar, if it's someone else, get them to stop all nightshades and keep the diary. Then if improvement doesn't occur they can see if there's something else in there, like wheat as this in certain ways makes me ache too.

I'm a chemist and experimenting is in my nature :D

No, its not me. My friend is only 25 and had bad arthritus which they cant seem to sort out at the minute. Just thought it might help her. Thank you, will get her to write a diary.

Murphydog - thank you, will get them links over to her so she can have a lookie into it herself.

Way to go Sheila :j :T

Well the joys of house-hunting! Had an offer accepted, and then came back to a message from our agent that our buyers buyer had pulled out! :( They have had another viewing and offer today, but rejected it and are waiting for a response on monday; fingers, toes and anything else that can be crossed, is crossed! If you could all send positive vibes, and a collective crossing of digits, over the weekend it would be appreciated :grinheart

All my pozzies are directed to you! Will send good forceful positive thoughts about your new home to you all weekend. My digits will all be crossed except my toes when I need to walk :)

Big love and much luck to ya!:T:j

All digits crossed for a successful outcome for you.

I have swede chips cooking for my tea - mmmmm

PS. My sister has psioratic arthritis and I've told her to cut out nightshades to see if it will help. Thanks Murphydog, I certainly feel better already.

I'm beginning to think that it is me that is odd. As far as I know, I'm not intolerant of any food and I feel no better or worse since starting low carbing than I did before. I'm just less fat. :)

Eating too many Pringles did give me heartburn though.

    maybe you are  :rotfl:

And then again maybe it's just a combination of factors that makes things more obvious to some of us? Age could no doubt be a factor but I'd put money on periods of extreme stress making an intolerance more obvious. One of the observations I've made more than once to my GP is that a lot of my 'ME' symptoms were not completely new, they had reared their heads before, even if only half-heartedly or temporarily. And going low carb has reduced a lot of them. I'm now the weight I was when I fell ill so I don't think the improvement can be put solely at the door of weightloss - if that were the case my pain/energy levels would be akin to where they were 6 years ago. But there are so many other factors that could be contributing such as support from SS and DS2 finally sleeping through the night on a regular basis.

don't read further if eating LOL

Some things I have pinned down a definite cause and effect e.g. too much sugar gives me such digestive problems that I can clear a room with a single burp - really sulphurous. Wheat also gives me wind, pain and bloating. Wheat with tomatoes adds diarrhoea into the mix and makes my continence issues worse. Finding out what the rest do is a work in progress LOL

You could be right. I'm 50 but, according to others, my approach to life had always been rather laid back. Too laid back maybe.

Maybe, but you're not as fat as you were :rotfl:

That takes being bothered to some extent even if it doesn't feel like hardship :D :j

Maybe your just of healthier stock? We are all different and laid-backness cannot be faulted health-wise :A

Here's a pretty decent article on sugar's detrimental health effects,,,,and all about it's secret locations!!!

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/home/you/article-2182575/YOU-special-report-Are-addicted-sugar.html

It's about time that the general public were really pushed to understand what is REALLY making them fat and ill!!!! With papers like the DM, more people are likely to read about it and pay attention (IMO)..'cos it's not a 'high-brow' paper, but understandable....and boy do they need informing!

    Hi All,

Quiet on here this weekend. I haven't been too bad, but went out for lunch yesterday, pub roast and managed to avoid the potatoes, yorkies and stuffing, but did eat a couple of slices of carrot and parsnip with gravy. Not too bad in the grand scheme as I only drank soda water :A

Still no inflammation in knees, so a good reason to make sure I stick with it.
