Thanks Gloomendoom, I can only go by my reaction. Perhaps it is just low carbing that has made the improvement, we'll see.
No, avoiding certain foods may be doing the trick for you as it seems to have done with the other poster's husband with the headaches. My father has a bad reaction to peppers. I just have trouble believing that, in general, potatoes and tomatoes etc. are 'bad' foods. If they were, I think there would be an awful lot of ill people about... billions of them!0 -

back from sunny spain, and oh how sunny it was , i shall miss the warmth and the the pool and sea, ive gained 3 lbs which i dont think is too bad as it was all inclusive and i certainly made the most of it lol and i took a fancy to the bread it was gorgeousbut its back to same old again  hoping to get those 3 pounds off this week
hope everyone is ok i havent been able to read back over the last week0 -
Ellay - thank you so much
Sistercas - thats brilliant for allinclusive. i would have put on if i had not been ill!
am just reporting back on the pizza. the base shrank quite a bit. i just used a normal round cake tin and sqished 2 turkey sausages in base. even though it did shrink i think i should have cooked it a bit more before putting the toppings on as it was a bit soft but i would still eat it by picking it up in slices (very small slices :rotfl:). so next time 3 sausages and hopefully it will be a bit bigger. alhtough saying that it was enough but thats because i loaded it up with toppings.0 -

Very jealous. The first time I went to the Trossach's it was Autumn & I was totally smitten with the scenery, the colours etc. You will love it.
Thanks for the snack suggestions. I was planning on taking nuts but wondered if there was anything else. I've never tried pork scratchings, so will get some before I go. I feel the same about pickled eggs, Matteson's smoked sausage and mayonnaise _pale_ as you do
If you go for the pork scratchings BE CAREFUL, I wouldn't want you needing another trip to the dreaded dentist!! They can be very hard & have been known to break teeth!! Maybe the puffs would be safer if you've never tried them before.cherrypies wrote: »Anyone have a lc pulled pork recipe? I've always fancied having a crack at that so now is probably a good time!
Shouldn't that be crackling?!
Only 1 lb loss for me this week
Never mind ONLY a lb, a loss is a loss!! :Ti am i had 2 for breaky with mounds of butter

Hee hee, good to have you back & munching crispbreads already!!We had a bit of sun here too (& lots of grey clouds & rain!!) Hope you had a lovely hol.
nutty, you can also make a 'pizza' base with bashed chicken breast - I have a feeling it's on Mercy's recipe list & it was Zero who posted it originally, very tasty.
I've had a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc tonight & I'm going to be sleeping on the setteeWhy do things never work out as they're supposed to??
Night all.

Love your signature sweet! Why sleeping on the settee? I had a bottle of Sauvignon last night and I've felt like carp all day ... not stopped me having bacardi and diet coke tonight though... when will I learn *sigh*
Bought the 'idiot proof diet' today and have had a read tonight, not got to the diet part yet, still on the emotional eating blurb.. interesting and I see what they're doing but I much prefer a scientific approach, I like cold hard facts about why something does or doesn't work rather than spiel about why people 'potentially' behave the way they do. We all have issues, I know, but I think people get too caught up in the 'I'm like this because....' rather than 'I need to change this, and now'... too much justification of negative behaviours rather than just going for it. My greatest weight loss success was 12st down to to 9 stone 4lbs in about 4 months (size 16 to a size 8-10) and I can honestly say it was down to me being TOTALLY honest with myself and stopping p*ssing about. Too often I'd given excuses for my behaviours (and I still do) 'it's my time of the month', 'I've just had a baby', 'a relative has just passed away' and on and on, I was constantly giving myself reasons to eat c*ap. When I finally had a word with myself and stopped making excuses, the weight flew off and stayed off for 3 years. Now I just need to get back in that mindeset again and I'll be good to go!
Nobody 'accidentally' eats toast, cake, chocolate, whatever. Everything you put in your mouth is a concious decision and in that split second, you're sealing your own fate and it's only yourself that is accountable and to blame. Harsh but true.
Sorry, mini rant over! More for myself than anyone else. I need to be focused, positve and mindful and I WILL feel fabulous again!
Night all xx0 -
I was being a drama queen
Had a terrible 'sleep' on the settee so won't be doing that again in a hurry!! :rotfl:

cherrypies - great pep talk and very true
sweet - stop putting yourself down, pick yourself up and start all over again (think that there is a song in there somewhere) . I have fallen off the wagon, so to speak, twice this week but we are only human and we can do it. Can you get a nap later?
sistercas - glad that you had a good holiday and 3lb will come off easily I am sure.
durham_mim - please can you tell me what the lactofree items taste like? I use the milk but haven't tried the others. I don't think that I am lactose intolerant but they are lower in carb values and the milk is fine.
Have a great day and keep smiling0 -
Sheila, I find the lactofree items are very similar to ordinary cream & butter. The cheese I find to be a bit more 'waxy' and not as flavoursome as normal cheddar, also it does not melt very well so no good for making pizza etc. I use the cream cheese for making cheese sauces. I think the butter is delicious, by far the best 'dairy free' butter around, tastes so like normal butter, it is a real treat.Weight loss 0/2st
