Link to where to find raw milk for anyone who's interested

Thanks for this link daska - I've just been up to Wheelbricks Farm (the closest seller to me) and bought some lovely raw milk - it's semi-skimmed as I think they use the cream for their lovely looking ice creams. ( I looked but didn't lick!). Also bought some raw milk cream and Jersey cow butter. Gosh, aren't Jersey cows really beautiful? I sat in the car for ages on the way out and just watched them.

Mmm - then, as I was already in Northumberland I headed over to Corbridge to buy a Healthy Bag (from another post) and was pleased that I did as there was a sale on and got 20% off. A very spendy day but I am delighted with my purchases.

Now... LC stuff - got a lovely piece of belly pork from M&S in the oven. One big slab of it! Going for the slow cooking method so it'll be ready for an early tea. Then got some chicken thighs to stick in with tomatoes, chunky pieces of onion, sliced up chorizo and a long thin red pepper.

Hope you all had a great day.

The Nam Pla dish sounds fab, thanks Daska, Loving Thai flavours at the moment, and increasing my heat tolerance....I'm getting spicy! :rotfl:

Going OK here, trying to eat 5 smaller meals is tough as it doesn't fit very well with lunch times at work, I end up having a quick snack at 11am and then not having lunch until 3pm. So I'm crunching away on a salad when everyone's trying to work. Might have to rethink meal times during working days.

    Yesterday was:

Brekkie - my usual - homemade toasted oat & nut muesli with almond milk (clean eating but not low carb)

    snack - almonds

lunch - chicken salad with mayo

dinner - Aldi pork minute steaks, cut into strips and fried with onion, tomato, peas, & various spices (was lush!) plus salad (Ok so peas not particularly low carb but they are clean eating so Ok for my WOE)

Can I just mention again - after JJJ's posted 2x - that frying with olive oil isn't a good idea. High heat will change the chemical composition of all oils and make them 'unstable,' apart from animal fats and coconut oil, which tend to be solid, or soft, at room temperature.

Chemically changed and heated fats turn into trans fats - those things that have contributed to us all getting in the mess we are in at the moment.

Leave your olive oil for drizzling, 'warming,' and salads. Coconut oil would be ideal for the 'nam pla' recipe.

By the way, if you like celery.........

stuff sticks with brie and avocado, top with strips of good ham or cold crispy streaky bacon, eat as is or chop into bite size pieces for buffets or picnics. Yummy.

Wish the sun would hurry up and get here. :(

Well I've just had rainbow fish 'paella' (of sorts, lol) and it was very filling. :D

The co-op were selling off reduced price fish trays that were meant for making fish pie with, there was a little salmon, haddock and smoked haddock together on the tray. I cooked it, added it to grated cauli, spoonful of cream mixed in and a sprinkling of grated cheese on top and it was delish. I feel so self rightous. :rotfl:

alias, where are you when I need you?! :p

I bought a reduced fishpie mix today & I remembered you'd made a fancy concoction once upon a time - finally found it but you haven't said how you cooked the fish mix before you did the fancy bit - aaaaaaarrgghhh!! That's the bit I wasn't sure about!! :wall: Oh well, I'll just have to make it up as I go along!! :rotfl:

Oh no, I've never heard of this before :( I always use extra virgin olive oil for frying stuff & have done so for years :(

I do have some coconut oil that I ordered last time I was lcing & never used so will start using it now, thanks for posting that murphy.

Btw, does coconut oil have to be stored in the fridge when it's been opened??

Someone mentioned sausages a few days ago? We've had Debbie and Andrew's Harrogate sausages, 97% meat. They were gorgeous. Different from most other sausages! Available from Tesco.

    cheers

    Hello!

Happy to report another 1kg loss this week :j

I'm finding Dukan easy to stick to as well. :D

I've never dieted to lose weight before and it is very good to have clear rules and guidelines to work to. Anyway, it seems to be working :T which is nice.

I can feel the difference too, this week. My clothes fit better and I'm feeling very positive.

Hope you all have a lovely start to the weekend!

Murphy... thank you so much for the tip about olive oil and not frying with it. From now on, I'll stick to butter and or coconut oil. I've got some coconut oil. Its just a case of allowing it to melt before using. Its in a bottle. Will also get a tub. You learn one new thing at least every day on this forum!

Have had a lovely day. The sun is shining and its about 17 degrees still in the midlands. :) Hope everybody has a fab lc friday evening!

There is only enough thai curry (Nam Plah for me, me, me!)
So OH can stuff himself with his fish n chips! and get FAT!
