Well done to all the skinny minnies ;)
Size 8.. what an incentive to keep up the good work, hopefully we will all get there in the end.. although Sheila your loss has been monumental :)

Not been posting as i'm doing low cal, lost a stone, but gained a lb recently due to totm.
A very slim girl in work has lost a STONE in 3 weeks on Dukan, and as we know, it's harder to lose when you haven't got much to lose so i'm deciding whether to alternate Dukan and low cal :D

as i am 6 foot 3 inch tall, i think a size 8 or 10 would be way too skinny for me, what size do people think i should aim for?

    meal plan yesterday was
B greek yogurt with some chopped nuts
    L king prawns, olives, andmayo
    D mushroom omelette with cheese
    s almonds

roughly how many nuts should i eat as a snack, an ounce, 50g?
loves to knit and crochet for others

    Hello all

Please allow me back into the thread after a few days of unwise eating, also been drinking wine which really didn't help me in my quest for clean healthy living.

So I am officially off the booze now and back on phase 1 for a fortnight to detox from the carb intake of last few days. This includes crisps, trifle, pastry, I am not talking about porridge or pulses, it was quite hardcore bad carbs. Not a lot but frequently enough to make me feel that I have lost my way.

DH told me he would support me through the weekend, so there is no better day than today for a fresh start, no need to wait for Monday!

    My planned day:

    Breakfast: scrambled eggs and mushrooms
    Lunch: cheese salad
Dinner: vege burgers, greens, tomato sauce (homemade)

    Snacks: nuts and yogurt

Also going to restart taking multivitamin supplements.

Might take myself to a Zumba class, too.
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

Hi socknitter - for your height the correct weight is around 14 stone to give a BMI of 25. Size wise I think that you would look too thin under a size 12 - 14 but others may disagree. I have around 1 oz nuts and 1 oz seeds a day but mix them up.

Caterina - just start again, we all have blips sometimes. Good luck.

mazzers - well done on losing a stone :T. Sometimes I think that we all need a change to kickstart our metabolism and it has worked for you. You have a pm.

Mercy - it is Friday so how have you done. By the way Dukan is a high protein, low carb diet

I had a shocking day carb wise yesterday as I fell down some steps and hurt too much to be bothered. Just cuts, bruises and jarred body but the thought gave my daughter and son in law a good laugh. Glad that the tin of paint I was carrying didn't explode :D

  • Morning :hello:

durham & SHEILA, I get the GG crispbreads from Holland & Barrett (SHEILA's link is the right product though) & they have been described as compressed hamster bedding or something like that!! :rotfl: I love them though, they're very high fibre (good for keeping you regular ;)) and only 2.9g carbs each (IIRC). I have mine buttered with either cheese, salmon & spring onion mayo, tuna & spring onion mayo or pate. I've also put pizza toppings on them (mozzarella, oregano etc) & grilled them, put fried eggs on top sometimes, used them as 'soldiers' for dipping into soft boiled eggs - can you tell I really do like them!! :D

murphydog, the onion/rosemary/almond thins sound gorgeous, will definitely try them sometime.

Jerry, how much do you pay for the gammon in Lidl (without the 30% off)?? I bought a pack of 2 slices in Aldi for £2.99 which I thought was a bit expensive, but I love gammon too. I quite often buy a gammon joint for £4.99 in Aldi & slow-cook it, that's really nice as well.

mazzers, what can I say but WOOHOO!! Well done on losing a stone :T And lol at the wind dig :rotfl:

SHEILA, the fall must have given you a fright, hope you're not aching too much today.

Managed to get through Day 1 unscathed & feeling ok today. Just had bacon, egg & mushrooms for brekkie, will have crispbreads for lunch & dinner is still to be decided, but I need to go shopping for some green stuff so will probably get some chicken to go with it.

    Happy LC days everyone

Ooh Sheila, now you're becoming a bit more of a waif you won't have all that excess fat to cushion you, you need to be careful. ;)

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-18770328 this is interesting, anyone care to reveal the results???

I take it we all watched in disgust THE program last night? More revelations about the food companies, supermarkets (particularly Tesco - I always liked Sainsburys better, now I know why) and last but not least, consecutive governments who's actions - or inactions - ARE actually making us ill.

I could have slapped (very hard ) the conservative woman minister he interviewed. Apart from looking very scary  she dodged every question and basically told us all, it's our own fault. How she can face herself in the mirror - in more ways than one  - I don't know. DISGUSTING!

murphydog - I have more body fat than 75% of people of my age in the UK and 87% in the world so, having lost 6 and a half stone, guess that it would have been nearly 100%. BMI 32 - 33. Very depressing :(

I didn't get to watch the programme last night so can someone give me the gist of what was said please?

sweetserendipidy - thanks for the info, do you really like hamster bedding that much as we have plenty in my house :D. Hope that the first few days go well and you don't get carb flu.

Thank you all for your concern. Very stiff and uncomfortable today but back on track.
  • Hi Sweet. The gammon steaks at 30% off in Lidl were around #1.04 and you get two in the pack. I think they are usually 1.69 full price approx which is still not bad, as they taste devine.

Tesco have them at 2 packs for a fiver at the moment, which is a bit expensive and they are smaller than the Lidl ones.

Excuse my hash sign appearing, but it always appears when I try to press the pound sign.
