Well, I've started lcing today - creamy scrambled eggs & pork steaks for brekkie & GG crispbreads with salmon mayo on for lunch. today. Happy LC days

Please could you tell me what are GG crispbreads? I really miss being able to have crackers & cheese ( I sound like Wallace & Grommit) so it would be great if there are crispbreads that are allowed.

    Anyone else getting leg cramps?
Mine are really terrible lately, I'm even getting them in the front of my one leg, never had cramp there before in my life!

You lot have been busy again! This is generally a lack of either magnesium/potassium or salt, or all. Both me and my husband got them when we started this. But we take magnesium and calcium supplements now and they have stopped. Once you take out any processed foods and all the heavy carbs (potatoes being high in potassium and sodium, bananas high in potassium and magnesium) not only do you eliminate a lot of salt, but also essential minerals.

Funnily enough, my husbands work colleague asked about this last week and I said try magnesium, and within a week they stopped. There is also something called magnesium diaspora which you can get from the chemist and take occasionally if you don't want to go full on with supplementation.

Magnesium is required for so many important functions, muscle function and repair is one of them, so it's important if you are active - amongst many other things.

PS Herbs and spices, nuts + nut butters, seeds, and good quality dark chocolate, will also help.

I put these on a few pages ago, they are mega-quick and easy, I can vouch quite easily that they are yummy with my favourite, colston bassett stilton :D The only thing I would say is don't make too many in one go as they don't keep very well - they go soft.

(there are other ingredient suggestions as well)

Just to back up what murphydog999 says

    http://www.livestrong.com/article/32763-list-foods-rich-magnesium-/

Nuts and seeds are really great + fish and green leafy veg e.g spinach

The recommended amount of potassium in the UK is lower, around 3000 - 3500mg a day. Magnesium 300mg a day for men, 270mg a day for women.

I've just mashed a few frozen raspberries and blueberries into a small bowl of double cream, added a couple drops of vanilla extract and gobbled it straight down.

Not quite the right consistency for ice cream, but all the flavour :)

I don't reckon it too high carb, but if we're doing smug....I'm a size 8 now too :D

Ooooh, that sounds absolutely delish! I'm drooling.

    Hello all.

I'm doing well. Its lovely to wake up in the morning and feel lighter! My tummy is still protuding, but on day 8, its a lot smaller than it was. I wont weigh myself (I hope), until its day 14. (after one week i've lost 5 lb). This is enough to keep me going.

Today, I did 21 minutes on the exercise bike. (5 miles)

I don't eat breakfast, so had four cups of decaf with double cream.
(last night before bed, i had a decaf with double cream as well, as I was peckish)

    So i've had today:

L: Gammon steak cooked in butter, lemon juice and finished off with parsley and double cream. I had some sauted mushrooms and one tomato with that.

Still not hungry and its been 7 hours! but, dinner will be:

Curried eggs and greek yoghurt with grated cucumber. (sounds yuk, but its tasty)

Went to Lidl again as needed more cream and its very local to me, I can walk there....and got yet another packet of 30% off gammon steaks. I'm one of those people who if I like something, i can eat it every day! I'm really addicted to gammon at the moment.

    Onwards and upwards.

P.s. I think, once i've reached my target weight of 9 stone, I might add lentils to my diet once a week, as I love them. But I think I will always stay low carb as I never want to get to a size 14 again!

I'm currently a snug size 12. Hoping to get to 10 as I have so many lovely clothes I need to get back into. I'm too poor to buy new clothes. I haven't got a job at the moment, and went for an interview today.

Low carbing is so easy when you are at home, and I do have some good ideas for when i start work (thanks to this great thread and its posters), but I wont be able to fry off a steak in the middle of the day at work! haha.

Hi girls, de-lurking momentarily as I cannot stand how rude Edwardia is. She dishes out some HORRIBLE comments, belittes people and is snooty and derisive to others but cannot stand when anyone pulls her up or retaliates! To my knowledge she has 'flounced off' and professed to be leaving MSE forever at least 3 times this year. Just ignore her, she's a sanctimonious troll who must have a very sad life to spend such a large amount of her time snarking at people on the internet.

From my time reading this thread, you all seem like a lovely, supportive bunch of people :) Keep it up! I might not post very often, but I do appreciate all of the information, ideas, recipes etc that get posted here and for that I'm very grateful.

Edwardia, shall I quote your post from late June on another board that I read where you talk about eating KFC? I don't think that's low carb, primal or organic, is it love? :rotfl: Pot / Kettle? ;)
