Padstow I'm trying to eat 5 smaller meals a day rather than 3, or at least 3 smaller & 2 substantial snacks. But it depends on how convenient that is and how organised I am when at work etc.

Apparently this is a better way to eat for those doing high levels of fitness and I'm doing intensive workouts at the mo.

Had to buy a smaller dinner plate tho cos all mine are huge! And smaller portions just look lost on there :rotfl:

Got a nice square one from Dunhelm Mill which I think is actually a large side plate but it will do. Subconsciously I didn't like having a half empty plate even tho I'm eating more meals if that makes sense.

I think half the problem is the large dinner plates , weve had to resort to using large side plates lol

    Good morning low carbers!

I just can't bear counting grams, it reminds me too much of the old counting calories regimes that used to depress me and send me into bingeing out of boredom! Does anyone else here do the LC thing without counting?

    Have a good day all

    Hiya!

I haven't regularly counted the carbs but the other week I wanted to see where I was up to. Only counting could tell me that. I found that I usually have between 12-20g/day. This I am beginning to think, may be too low for me.

I am going to aim for up to 40 - 50g and see if that helps. I have been putting on weight - possibly due to stopping smoking - so something better change :rotfl: Like you I will be upping the exercise.

Maybe my body has become so used to very low carbs and any ideas would be welcome. I seem to have drifted lower carb-wise after I had my wheat intolerance shruggingly confirmed by the Doc. I've probably become more 'frightened' of food as wheat makes me quite ill. :rotfl:

Gloomendoom - you one lucky person :rotfl:

    Cheesy carrots

Not sure if you have any onion but would only cost 20p to buy one

Sorry but I love making something good out of leftovers. Sure you have plenty of ideas of your own.

Made me think of one who used come here. Sweetserendipity has a recipe for 'cheesy leeks' found in the list, page 1.

They really are very good :)

Sock knitter - I often have flax porridge for breakfast. It isn't cheap, but is very filling. Holl*nd & B sell Linwoods flax, either on its own or mixed with seeds, berries, etc. I put a couple of spoonfuls in a bowl, add a spoonful of Sains basics peanut butter, add hot water and some double cream. Mix and eat - can taste a bit bland though you could add cinnamon, etc.

I'm another who doesn't count carbs. I try to eat lc foods without additives.

If you can grind your own linseeds / flaxseeds it can be really cheap. Buying ready ground is dear. Just googled flaxseed at H&B and it seems 500g is less than £2 :j Think I may well pop in at the weekend :) Ground flaxseed is £5 for 500g.

Problem with grinding is oils can go off. So keep in fridge or grind your own, any surplus you grind, keep in fridge :D

Mercy, there was no post criticizing her for giving to charity. That's why you could not find one. It was an invention.

Thanks Fern. That's what I thought.

    Actually it does.

Sorry, I will not give the oxygen of attention any further. Had to just clear this little thing up first.

Your welcome dear. I did not like the twisting and desperation of the edit thing - it was just too crass. But unfortunately a maddened person may well try to make up things to justify their complete loss of rationality.

Well shut. Horrible way to find out though.

Never mind. Plenty of people on a reasonably even keel here :rotfl:

Hi guys I found this article on daily amount of carbs for weight loss http://www.marksdailyapple.com/the-primal-carbohydrate-continuum/#axzz1zgDVX4nx

It's suggesting that between 50-100g per day is the ideal amount. It does say that if you are diabetic you may have to eat a smaller number of carbs.

I know everyone has a different approach to low carbing and what works for one person doesn't necessary work for someone else.

I haven't been counting the number of carbs yet but I am going to start soon.

    Does 50-100g sound okay?

ps how do I change my signature
Low carbing vegetarian. Aiming for 50-100g carbs per day
