i am taking 5ooo tablet of vit D each day ..plus fish oil and muliti vit .and eating lots of wallnuts ..maybe 200g a week ..
so don't think i am falling short of stuff..
Very good, however walnuts are really high in Omega 6 (need more omega 3, as it's less inflammatory) and a bit carby; almonds, hazelnuts, macadamias, or a mixed selection would be a little more beneficial.
Might I say, your shake sounds nice, but high carb due to the juice and banana!0 -

Hi durham_mim
I am not sure if you are trying to follow a low carb diet or just cut out sugar?
If you want to go low carb then your menu needs a bit of a tweak.
Kallo rice puffs are 20g carb per 25g portion
Nairn oat cakes are 5.7 carbs each X 6 - 34.2 carbs
Crisps are about 32 carbs per packet
1 new potato is around 10 carbs
apple - medium 16 carbs
6 fl oz low fat milk - 9 carbs
brussel sprouts - approx 5 carbs
Those alone are over 125 carb units but it depends on which diet you are following and what you are trying to achieve? Also low fat items are higher in carbs than full fat
I take osteocare x 1 tablet daily for strong bones but I am a bit worried as it contains copper and I always seem to come out with about 300 - 600% RDA with my diet. I seem to get 100%RDA on most vitamins and minerals daily but have to admit that Vitamins C, D and potassium can be a bit low sometimes.
Nutritional Information Average Per 2 Tablets
Calcium 800 mg
Magnesium 300 mg
Zinc 10 mg
Vitamin D (as D3 400 IU) 10 μg
Manganese 0.5 mg
Selenium 50 μg
Copper 1000 μg
Boron 0.6 mg --
Costs around £2.50 for 30 tabs0 -

I think it would benefit you to up your Vit D, I take 4-6000 iu a day (2/3 tabs @ 2000iu) 10,000iu a day is not uncommon, it's not at all toxic at these levels. However I am not a doctor, only going on research and reading, which you may want to do further yourself0 -

I do realise that my menu is still high carb compared to all you who've been on a low carb diet for sometime but believe me this is a lot less than I was having before. As I said I am working towards a low carb diet but I need to build my store cupboard up too. It is shopping day tomorrow and I intend to stock up on low carb items. Also in my menu l/f does not refer to low fat but to lactofree, I am lactose intolerant.Weight loss 0/2st
