Anyone heard of this ? I reckon it's lower carb because it cuts out sugar, processed foods, takeaways, wheat, alcohol.. Holly Valance, Elle McPherson and Hugh Grant use it..it was designed by personal trainer James Duigan.0

sistercas, I hadn't before DM ran a piece on it. I browse all the online newspapers every day looking for stuff on low carb and diabetes.
If anyone watches tennis.. Novak Djokovic low carbs cos he discovered he has an allergy to gluten. And for F1 fans.. Jensen Button also low carbs. And according to a piece Sol Campbell wrote in The Guardian, Arsene Wenger has Arsenal FC on a low carb diet too.0 -

Yes, I saw that advertised yesterday, should be interesting.
Don't know if anyone saw 'the one show' last week with actor Simon Pegg and jockey Frankie Detorri (sp?) on. The cooking/food item was about sandwiches and both of them pretty much refused to try them because they stay away from carbs. Frankie - because of his obvious strict weight regime - said he won't touch 'em.0 -

Interesting, I've just looked at his cookbook and he lists Agave syrup in one of the recipes!!
I get the impression he has got a good/bad fat thing, but he doesn't say to avoid them. If you eat a processed, carb-laden diet I've no doubt you would see and feel a difference.0 -

thankyou
I have decided to go sugar/ sweetener free on monday . I am working all week so i am hoping that will help as it will reduce my capacity to get at food .
I need to plan what im having though and get some snacks sorted in case im hungry
kafcathecat i like the almond bark idea , i used do do that before but had forgotten about it , i used 85% choc so if i do it i may try 90% -wont do it this week though
going out to lunch to a relatives , i always find that difficult ( unless its a buffet) as they dont know i low carb ( cant be doing with all chuntering that will happen about my terribly unhealthy diet lol)
good luck with that sistercas, we're all cheering you on

sistercas - we're all rooting for you
murphydog999 - I hope that the BBC2 doco will at least get families thinking about sugar in their food. That's interesting about Frankie Dettori. I lived in Newmarket when I was 17, had never seen so many butchers in one high street before and they all seemed to make their own sausages - maybe low carbing jockeys like bangers
Found this article in The Grocer - it seems Morrisons quietly allowed poultry producers to use GM feed back in March, following ASDA which did so in September 2010.
www.thegrocer.co.uk/companies/supermarkets/morrisons/morrisons-gambles-on-gm-shift/227510.article
I have contacted ASDA and Morrisons and telling them that I will be telling everyone I know not to buy their Frankenstein chickens !
OH quipped it would be simpler not to eat !0
