Wonderful news Edwardia :j ...and yeh, what's wrong with sandal wearing hippies? I'd be of that clan, minus the patchouli...if it was warm enough for sandles!!! :rotfl::rotfl:
 sheila......2lb gain versus a great restoring holiday.....I'd say it's a win win for you 'cos only 2lbs gain is definitely worth the wonderful time you had!!!
:T to the sugar-cutting crew, sistercas and schoolhouse... you can do it and you'll feel great and virtuous when you've succeded.
:T to the shrinking of bossymoo.
Daska, I realised a long time ago, if I don't invite temptation into the house, it can't grab hold of me. Good luck on your new beginingYou'll be fine once you get back into the swing of LCing!

daska - carbversity is a great invention :T. Your parents sound like proper hippies, definitely ! My parents went pseudo hippie in our teens.. dragging us to Cranks, Food for Friends and Neal's Yard.. the older they got the more pseudo-hippie they got with Kuoni tours to India, Nepal and Thailand.. Indian head massage, osteopathy, chiropractic, organic vitamins from Switzerland..me and my bro just eye rolled and ate pizza
sistercas and schoolhouse, how's it going ? Grey Malkin's idea sounds neat to me btw..
sheila54 - have fun with the puppy and watch out for those teeth
Thank you to everyone for the best wishes on my eye exam, I'm still grinning like a fool lol
B - Bubble and squeak cooked in mix of lard and rapeseed oil0 -
Note to self - must buy lard. My nan would be giving me a knowing wink, if she was here, bless her.
How are you getting on with the Living Low carb book, Edwardia?
Agree 'carbversity' is a really good word. Sums things up nicely.:T
Salted pistachios are a good combo in the melted dark choc/coconut oil mix recipe. I read in the 'Clean diet' book - that Edwardia mentioned the other day - that eating nuts with chocolate (dark of course) lowered glucose release, because of the protein. I have heard this before, but don't have any more evidence on the subject to confirm or deny.
Who needs an excuse to eat nuts and chocolate???:j0 -

Not meI slather a couple of squares of Lindt 90% with organic unsweetened peanut butter and I've done the melted Lindt with pistachios thing too.
murph, I have an overflow pile of books in the bedroom right now. When I started LC we cleared the kitchen cookbook shelf so we could have LC cook/diet books there. There's no more room so Gary Taubes etc are languishing on bedroom floor and there are at least 6 I haven't read yet !
Lindt chocolate special offer 2 for £3 ends today at Tesco !0 -
We now have a puppy in the house, 10 weeks old, and it is a new experience for me as I have not had many dealings with dogs before. Everyone else is still in bed so I, getting up early as I do, have her jumping all over me, eating everything in site and trying to get to my yogurt and flax. Found her in the linen basket when I came down instead of her bed and had to mop the floor. She is rather cute though and likes a cuddle in the evenings when I am downstairs on my own

edwardia where do you get unsweetened peanut butter from please ? i love peanut butter
at work ( just on my break) had my lunch and so far so good , unfortunately there is alot of temptation but i feel strong enough to resist :A
looking forward to my provencal chicken and veggies for tea
hope everyone is doing ok x0 -
Well done sistercas
Just going to nip off for my lunch..
Suma organic unsweetened peanut butter - spotted it in my mother's local Budgens. Extremely yummy and I must look out for it elsewhere because she's on hols at the moment so I'm likely to run out before I see her again.0 -
Funny isn't it, looking back I guess it might well have been 'interesting' to others, for me it was others who had interesting lives, we did live almost exclusively on bread, cheese, salad, ratatouille and dhal. I can vividly remember the occasions I encountered 'normal' food such as liver pate, jelly with evaporated milk or wagonwheels - WOW!Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan

daska - sounds healthier than my sausage rolls, pies, breakfast sausage, findus pancakes, syrup puddings, frozen peas and tinned carrots. Still I guess that all food gets boring after a while. I know that I can't eat peas anymore
Good and bad day. I succumbed to a cadbury's mini roll - carbs 12, but have had avocado, prawns, scrambled egg, mayo, dark chocolate, seeds, nuts, yogurt and flax otherwise.
dinner - salmon, green beans, broccoli, almond pancake, raspberries and cream
I have a tsp of the Sainsburys basic peanut butter each day, discussed a while ago, as it is only 3.9 carbs per 100g.
Edwardia - I am envious that you read so much as I never seem to have time. I do catch up on articles posted here and thanks to everyone who does the ground work and posts the results :T Have been looking at your blog and reading some of the info on that as well x
sistercas - keep it up, you are doing well!
murphydog999 - I will have to try your treat combo as it sounds good.
Coco (dog) is very boisterous and I will try to work out how to put on a photo sometime.
mazzers - how is your knee?0 -
Hi, I wonder if I could join you guys?
I'm new to lcing - started last Wednesday and so far it's going ok. (6lbs off so far). I'm a little worried about doing anything too extreme though as I'm still breastfeeding (9mth old DD).
Could anyone tell me what the deal is with yoghurts? Is it just plain greek yogurt I can have?
Thanks0 -
Brilliant test results Edwardia:j.
Today's food
