Hi, I wonder if I could join you guys?
I'm new to lcing - started last Wednesday and so far it's going ok. (6lbs off so far). I'm a little worried about doing anything too extreme though as I'm still breastfeeding (9mth old DD).
Could anyone tell me what the deal is with yoghurts? Is it just plain greek yogurt I can have?
Thanks
hi jenijen, the more the merrier :j 6lb off is brilliant, keep at itAre you eating proper meals? Plenty of veg?
Personally i would only eat plain greek yoghurt as a lot of others have hidden sugar and additives in them but others may do it differently. greek yoghurt goes well with some blueberries or strawberriesschoolhouse wrote: »
confused76 and Edwardia- I am keeping a check on my BP. I have a monitor at home and will check regularly over the next week .
No sugar is going well,am eating too many nuts I think but that has to be better than cake:D.
good good...hope you're feeling ok today :A0 -
Hi jenijen27
Lots of nice people on here with plenty of experience in the low carb lifestyleThey have really helped and encouraged me x
6lb is excellent but are you following any plan? If you are breast feeding then you need to keep up the calcium intake so full fat probiotic / greek yogurt is good, not low fat as it has more carbs. Also make sure that you drink plenty of water, both for the diet as you need more and to stop your milk supply from decreasing.
Are you feeding just at night as she is 9 months old?
confused76 - I like yogurt with berries and have some seeds and flax as well to keep regular, if you know what I mean.
schoolhouse - well done with sticking to it. Nuts are good for you but not a bucket loadI love nuts and have trouble leaving them alone sometimes.

Hi all!
Busy busy here, been at the paid stuff today. Made a breakfast frittata yesterday for packed lunches, and a Thai curry, just had the last of that for dinner. Had some yoghurt with jelly sprinkles, half an oatbran muffin with cheese spread and I'm sure there was something else in there... Oh yes, coleslaw.
Anyway, brain scrambled, can't think, night all

Mercy - what have you been up to today?0 -
Sheila.. knee got a lot better but playing up since i did a bit of food shopping earlier.
Feels a bit tight again now.
Back in work tomorrow, have had 10 restful days but i had wanted to get stuff done tbh.
I am bowing out of lc, i cant seem to stick to it anymore so intend to cut calories and have what i want without restriction (except calories of course) for a months trial to see if i can actually lose weight without lc-ing.
I will pop in and out tho0 -

Sistercas, mind if I comment?
How do you cook your eggs in the morning? Are you cooking in fat? (I do 2 eggs scrambled in butter with a dash of double cream, with a sausage or couple of bits of bacon or smoked salmon and that lasts me for hours.)
Do you like cottage cheese or cream cheese? Not only are these nice and creamy (so, satisfying) they are a source of protein (so, filling) and can be snacky (with celery, or as a dip) or part of a meal/salad. Sweet or savoury - you can add nuts if you like! Cottage cheese beaten down and loosened with a bit of milk can act as a salad dressing with various additions and seasoning.
How about adding a bit more fat content to your evening meal? It would fill you up a bit more and you shouldn't need anything after. A blue cheese topping for your burger? Or a cheese/blue cheese sauce for your veggies? Or onions and mushrooms cooked in butter in a cream sauce? Or guacamole on the side?
Just a few suggestions, it's always difficult getting your head round the fat issue, but it doesn't help subdue your appetite and will stop you snacking.0 -
mazzers - please keep in touch and let us know how you get on0
