You don't have any control over what life throws at you.
You DO have control over how you react :)

    Hi all
Been lurking for a while. This is my 2nd time doing low carb, last time I lost all the weight but, of course, I then stopped and all the weight (and more) has piled back on.
So...4 weeks in so far and lost 1st 1lb. I'm a bit older this time and can really feel the health benefits. I was having chest pain when walking (thought I was developing Angina), my knees and joints hurt, and I felt ill every day. After 5 days on low carb it all just disappeared and I feel really great!
I have been doing some reading and realised I'm actually doing IF every day without realising. I usually eat my first meal between 2-4pm as I just don't feel like eating until then and my last meal around 7.

Have been following the lasagne discussion and I use sliced emmental as the pasta layer, it's absolutely gorgeous and holds together when cooked.

Hi Carer, welcome aboard and 15lbs in four weeks is great well done and even better is the fact that your health problems disappeared :T

Mercy honey grab a cocktail and just jump into the fray anytime I always love to read what you have to say xx

Did anyone else watch Channel 4's documentary 'Jimmy and the Giant Supermarket' when these cute Bambi-like Jersey bull (male) calves were shot ? Jimmy Doherty wants Tesco to sell British rose veal meat so that the calves are reared for meat instead of being shot because as male Jersey calves they don't produce milk ;)

Obviously Jimmy doesn't shop in Waitrose as I've been buying Waitrose British veal mince for months. £4 for a 500g pack and currently 3 for £10. I have lots stashed in my freezer as it tastes so much better than beef mince. :D

Morning Edwardia, I watched it last night and was shouting at the tv-the beef meatballs being compared to the veal meatballs were of such inferior quality, that it was like comparing apples and pears!
I love veal, but haven't had it for ages. I'll get some, next time I sneak into Waitrose. I wonder if M&S stock it-my son works there and we get 20% discount!!!

marbett my husband is a bit of a Foodie on the quiet and was shouting at my laptop too ! We love British veal :)

Please do post if you find any veal in Marks and Spencer as I will go look for it when I visit my mother next week. 20% off wow

I've taken my blog off public search engine capability as it seems like the content is being copied to other websites -I don't see why other people should scam off the back of my legit posting. It then looks like I'm involved, to security software, which I'm not.

The idea was to be a place to go to get details on low carb supermarket offers and news about which celeb lost weight low carbing as well as news on low carb, obesity and diabetes - plus recipes and videos by all the leading low carb gurus and links to research studies. A one stop shop.

Blogger says they can't do anything about stopping people copying it !! :mad::mad:

I have managed to de-list my blog from blogger and remove it from search engine visibilty, then I renamed it. I hope that will stop the copying but it's frustrating because the idea was to share it and I was getting hundreds of pageviews a day.

    Just taken possession of:
Bad Food Britain: How A Nation Ruined Its Appetite - Joanna Blythman (2006)
Not On The Label! : What Really Goes Into The Food On Your Plate - Felicity Lawrence (2004)
The Savvy Shopper - Rose Prince (2006)
Traditional Farmhouse: A Collection Of Country Recipes From Farmer's Weekly (1985, 2005 reprint)

I'll do very short reviews on the others as I read them but I've been looking through the cook book and there was I thinking it was going to be fresh healthy wholesome food and I've found three recipes from Soups, Starters and Mains so far.. if you're a person who will happily use soya flour then there will be a few more recipes you could use. It doesn't have photos, it has lots of charming illustrations and the recipes are all from named farmers' wives from all over the UK.

Busy day today. Glad about your results Edwardia - onward and downward ;)

Weighed today and stayed the same, as usual, but at least it isn't going up.

I will try the lasagne / moussaka when I come back from holiday or maybe whilst away. Intend to eat salad as much as possible as I don't want to put on weight and there should be cold meats, cheese, fish and eggs around. Also doesn't require much preparation.

marrbett - let's hope that we both have good weather :) and well done on the weight loss :T.. Like other people I find that if I go off the diet by much I end up with bad stomach ache so bear it in mind. You could have meat / fish and mediterranean veg when eating out, as mentioned by devildog. Bit of a worry about earthquakes and now I see that the Pope is in Milan over the weekend when we land and the area is on high alert!

Carer - hi and well done on your loss so far :T

    Gray Malkin - welcome

Mercy - you are very quiet so how are you doing?

Have a good day everyone as I need to rush x
