i have some probiotic capsules from ages ago , they are still in the fridge , do you think they will still be ok?

im not sleeping well at the moment due to OH snoring  i either wear earplugs which hurt my ears and make them itchy or sleep on the sofa either way it doesnt make for a restful nights sleep I think a combo of not sleeping and eating carp has sapped my energy , i can hardly put one foot in front of the other .

struggling with the carb demon , i had eggs for breakfast cooked in coconut oil , took DD1 to work and popped into the fruit shop ok so far, but DD asked me to pick some vits up for her from Holl and Bar , and they had chocolate covered cashew nuts on reduced - i picked them up for DD , but ive already eaten them all :o
i'm going to keep trying because i know lcing suits me .

mazzers you are doing well with IF i think thats the way forward for me too but i need to wait until i am burning fat again as apparently fasting is really hard if you are burning glucose .

mercy thanks for links will take a look , you sound so upbeat at the moment its lovely :)

Sheila54 wow your body doesn't really like the 21st century much :(

I have two nieces with wonky thyroids, not on a restricted diet at all because they take medication. Drugs aren't always the enemy. I take drugs for my diabetes because I have tested the difference between BG with Metformin and without. In studies since 1958 it's been proven the safest diabetes drug and it's heart protective and is now being studied as it seems to be cancer protective too.

Ultimately it's your body and you are the only person who can decide what you should put in it. Blueberries are supposed to be OK with them and I get dizzy but I'm fine with a few grapes. So I'd suggest before you ban a whole load of leafy veg that you trial them. Cassava is definitely not low carb though.

It's so annoying when our bodies start giving us gyp but I guess if we've been feeding em stuff they shouldn't have they revolt in the end !

sistercas suggest you get OH to go to GP in case he' getting sleep apnoea. He should do something about his snoring though, it's not fair on you :(

hugs to all have a Grand Saturday ;)

Edwardia - it is what it is and it is my fault as I have been very overweight for most of my life :( We all have our problems and I am so much happier that I have control now. I just want to get it right so that I can run and play with my grandchildren and have fun!!

    How is everyone doing?

i think i may do a fast from now until lunchtime tomorrow it may kick me back into lcing again, i know its supposed to be harder to fast when you are full of carbs but ill give it a go , i am desperate to get fat burning again

    hiya!

I think the probiotics will be ok if still in date.

Thanks for the kind words, I do feel pretty good at the moment! Although being ill a few weeks ago knocked me somewhat lots of good came out of it. I found out that there's nothing wrong with me - who'da thunk - so it's motivated me to jolly well keep it that way! :rotfl:

On the subject of sleep. I had terrible waking up and not getting back off problems. all sorted now. :j I used this

Not quite what you are suffering i know. But it may take the edge off the racket and make it easier to fall back asleep when woken in such a fashion.

I second the suggestion that you get him seen to. (in a nice way :rotfl:) I used to be with someone who had sleep apnoea (sp?) and would lie there holding my breath waiting for him to breathe, or rather shake the tiles off the roof, again. Not fun. He ended up losing some weight which helped a lot. If it had gone on much longer I would not have been responsible for my actions.

    have a happy day!

    Mx

(I think we cross posted, it's a shame the operations haven't worked. Poor man, at least he tried. )

Hello there - I don't post much on this, but read often:)

I have a quick question I was hoping someone could answer - I'm doing quite hardcore low carb (no fruit etc) and was wondering if coconut milk is OK to use? It's about 3% carbs so I was hoping it's OK, but it tastes quite sweet.

Any opinions on this would be great.

    TIA

    Hiya!

I suppose it comes down to how much you use. 100g would work out at 3g carb but if you had 300g it would be 9g. It is very sweet so you may not need much at a time. Are you cooking with it? It's nice in Ceylon curry yum!

I've never heard anything bad about it and it is coconut which is good for a body :)

I might look into coconut in a while...

I haven't been on for a day or two, but still on plan. Went to family party yesterday and only had two cuppas, not the lovely home made sausage rolls and scones that the kids all tucked into. Very pleased with myself. My Easter weekend pounds are gone, and it's very motivating. Not had the almonds for a couple of days... Hmmm...

I go on hol in a week. I won't be lc'ing, but I think I can make better choices, and recognise how carbs make me feel now. So I won't have a complete blowout. But I won't be strict either.

Have really got a taste for cream in my tea and coffee now...

Sheila, you asked a few pages back if I eat early and snack later? It depends. I have two very young children, who have tea at about 4.30 (or they are naughty and dont drink their bedtime milk!). So often I eat with them, and then I will have salami or something later. Or even something more substantial! If they had tea at nursery, I'd wait till they are in bed. So it depends what day.

sistercas- I really understand as my ex husband snores so loud that you can hear him two floors down!!! We are still good friends but I ended up sleeping in another room as, otherwise, I was so tired that I could have suffocated him just to get some sleep  My GP said that he could have surgery but it doesn't help everyone and he should try to lose weight. He still stays with my family and me sometimes but I have a fan on very loud in my bedroom to drown out the noise ;)

bossymoo - of course it is easier to eat with the kids instead of preparing food twice. I just would want, and do have, a snack before bed. Have got the yoghurt mentioned by mazzers and Mercy from Lidl and will have that with a few berries. How are you and where are you going on holiday?

I used to use coconut milk in curries but, since cutting back on the carbs, now use coconut oil instead. -

mercy thanks for the links i had a quick look last night but will have a proper look today.

sheila your ex sounds like DH :( we dont have a spare room , but he slept on the sofa last night and i slept like a baby :D

i use coconut cream in curries rather than coconut milk i think its mainly fat so lower carb but still has a lovely coconutty flavour

decided not to fast this morning as i was hungry and thought it would cause a binge , instead ive had a bowl of greek yoghurt, a few raspberries and strawberries and a blob of double cream - and it was gorgeous.

bossymoo cream in tea  i would try it if i thought i could stomach it but i dont like much milk in tea ( cant drink it black though)

been reading my atkins book again , i could really do with doing induction again but i cant face it , so i will take it one meal at a time
