Well i can sleep for Wales, in fact i went to the designer outlet near me today and after half an hour i wanted to lie down on the floor again.. i just feel exhausted, and tbh, i've not done much either
Must be the insulin resistance, no energy getting into the old cells!
Sorry i'm too tired to comment on things atm, i wish i could get my energy back.
Got a pile of mouth ulcers now too.
Good luck to everyone and like sheila says, keep posting if we can, it really does encourage0 -
Hi and welcome mummyofboys

The ghee, coconut oil, mustard oil etc should turn up tomorrow and my new kettle
Tomorrow is day 2 giving up Diet Pepsi..I've drunk 4 50cl bottles of Evian today, had 3 mugs Earl Grey w/Lactofree plus 1 peppermint tea. Hopefully that adds up to 2 litres.0 -
Morning everyone :hello:
mazzers - I have been lacking in energy and feel, apart from lack of sleep, that it is probably my thyroid playing up. It can also slow down weight loss. Have you had yours checked? Please don't stop posting and I hope that you feel better soon x
Edwardia - well done with the diet Pepsi. It isn't easy when you really like something but worth it if you feel better / start losing again.
Mercy - you are a star helping everyone and posting all of the links :T
Off to weigh later so fingers crossed. Feeling a bit better today as I don't seem to get on with iodized salt / supplements and have got them out of my system. Felt like I was on drugs yesterday with tingly skin, hyped up and was I ratty
Have a good day everyone, even if it is miserable outside.0 -

Hi everyone,
thanks for the warm welcomeI am going to buy my shopping later on, so have had to just make do with whats in the fridge as I wanted to start today. I have had 2 boiled eggs for breakfast and for lunch chicken salad. Are you allowed those sugar free jellys at the start or is that as you have gone through. I don't think I am going to follow a plan as such but more stick to the list of food in that fantastic link !
I hope this works, I really need to lose the weight, I have been feeling awful0 -
Wondering about square burgers here nuttybabe.. I drink 50cl bottles of Evian because I just can't glug water no matter how I try. So if it's difficult for you suggest using smaller glass/bottle. 2.2 pints = 1 LTR OH says.
New Dualit kettle turned up FedEx this morning - has a limescale filter, light but sturdy, looks great but not 'inyerface'. very fast boil, so will be able to have tea
Listening to BBC Radio Five online and just now there was a report about fruit juice. The average serving of fruit juice has 18 tsps of sugar even if natural not made from concentrate and even an apple has 3 tsps of sugar. One of the experts said better to eat fruit than juice but even fruit is just a vitamin C tablet with sugar.
Phew ! Now not feeling guilty about not eating much fruit because it spikes my BG. Blueberries are supposed to be fine - they make me dizzy. I was told not to have more than 100ml fruit juice at a time or more than 10 grapes by practice nurse. Dr Robert Lustig says grapes have more sugar than any other fruit and more sugar than fibre, all other fruits have more fibre than sugar.
The news report also quoted BBC Health correspondent saying that 5 a day was merely a marketing campaign by some Californian fruit & veg sellers in 1991 and never should have been adopted as a health mantra.
Much of the nutritional info these governments put out IS based on agribusiness wants rather than our nutritional needs
Sheila54 and sistercas..thanks.. feeling a bit better about not having Diet Pepsi now and starting to feel a tad less strange. Jumpy though0 -
Edwardia 1l =1.75 pints, 1Kg=2.2lb
I'm lurking...Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan
48 down, 22 to go
Low carb, low oxalate Primal + dairy
From size 24 to 16 and now stuck...0 -
edwardia you should read 'The Obesity Epidemic' by Zoe Harcombe - its a really interesting if a little technical ( for me) book in there she refutes the 5 a day rule - says its a load of rubbish and was made up , also the 'eat well plate ' that most health professionals adhere to is completely flawed - she calls it the eat badly plate lol when you look at it it advocates around 70% carbs and it also shows pictures of cola , crisps ,cornflakes - the very companies that pour money into it . theres something very wrong about that :mad:0

I shall blame OH entirely lol, I was on the phone as posting. Hope he works out departmental budgets on a calculator, :rotfl:
sistercas thanks for that will have a look on Amazon. Dr Lustig is one of my low carb heroes and he says the reason things don't change in US is because agribusiness is a big export.
The food turned upI tried Brooke Bond Taj Mahal tea and it's certainly better than Co-op 99 teabags that we usually have. Got coconut oil, mustard oil and ghee to try
Really excited about making proper Indian food, will be a real change.0
