    Hi all

    Lol at the fish poo...

I made a lovely quiche on Monday, and just finished it for brekki. I'd done some snipped up turkey rashers to have on my chicken salad, so used the other half of those, with some snipped up cooked sausage, and put in a silicone cake tin. Then poured on a mix of 6 eggs whisked with double cream (about 125ml I think, I just threw it in lol) and a good scoop of soft cheese. I baked it in the oven at about 150deg until it was golden and set.

Really delicious. And portable, so my working breakfast was taken care of yesterday....

Got salad, cooked meat and coleslaw for later. Not sure about supper yet. But I did get some clotted cream, stirred with a little cocoa was quite nice!

Fast while you're sleeping and extend it through until whenever your lunch break is :D From what I've read there seems to be a good argument for not making it regular as the body might cease to benefit.

Funnily enough I started putting on weight when I started eating breakfast, usually because I started feeling hungrier earlier in the day if ate, whereas I could happily go until supper time if I didn't bother. The body really is remarkably adaptable.

Thats what i was doing, managed the 19 hours quite easily, went from 6pm til 1pm next day, but now, my breaks are either 12pm 2pm or 3pm ish, if we're very busy we have to wait. Dont think i could manage 6pm til 3pm next day, and if you dont eat at break there's no opportunity until next break.
    Any suggestions welcomed tho.

I know some people find the more science based books boring or challenging but I find it really does help to understand the 'why' as well as the 'how' of low carbing. I would thoroughly recommend Stephen Phinney and Jeff Volek's "The Art and Science of Low Carbohydrate Living: An Expert Guide to Making the Life-Saving Benefits of Carbohydrate Restriction Sustainable and Enjoyable" and Taubes "Why We Get Fat: And What to Do About It" You can get a lot from the youtube lectures and newspaper articles but I think the books do it more systematically and effectively.

I enjoy reading, especially if it's something i'm interested in (even the latest scientific theories :D, bit of a geek i'm afraid ) i need to know the how and why too.
Will def have a read of your links.. thanks.

Morning to all and hope you are well. I am back and hoping to shift a bit of podge. Sister's wedding in 4 weeks:eek:!

I am going to kick start with a Dukan attack phase. Sat here eating a very nice grilled chicken breast and some cottage cheese.Low fat cottage cheese which slightly threw me as am so used to full fat in everything. Tastes ok...I added my oatbran requirement to it. Not sure how else to eat the oatbran, not wanting to make their pancakes or put it in biscuity type things(not keen on sugar alternatives as they seem to leave a funny taste in my mouth).

Hope you have a good day and that nobody get too rained on,the school run was very wet and windy this morning.

SHEILA54- Thank you for asking after me and pleased to see that the pounds are shifting for you again :T.

    morning girls,

I feel absolutely awful!! Is this normal? I was carb bingeing before hand and having them with most if not all of my meals and snacks.

I feel headachey, aching all over and generally like im hung over this morning and like I could go back to bed even though I have had nine hours sleep!

Having bacon for breakfast and have drunk half a litre so far

mummyofboys- I think it is very common to feel this way when you first start low carbing. Think its the body having withdrawal symptoms from all the carbs and sugar. May take a few days for your body to adjust.

I like your user name,I too am a 'mummy of boys':D.

the one i ve got is 'stop counting the calories and start losing weight ' i think she has updated it since the one i bought , which i gather is now better , she also has a website 'theharcombedietclub.com ' but you do need the book to explain the diet but there is a good forum on there :D

Thank you very much, is that better than the 'Why do you overeat?' one for my purposes?

    Thanks

  • Thanks so much, I think I just needed a bit of reasurance. I haven't told anyone about my diet up to now, my husband did ask why I didn't have any chips but I just blagged it. I know he will just take the mick and say I'm not going to stick to it :(

I really want to do this, I will drink extra water to try and help! Edwardia... giving up pepsi must be hard if you drink it alot, well done ! x
