mummyofboys take a read of the excerpt I posted HERE and go have some hot bouillon (stock cube tea LOL).
And have you had your usual cup/s of tea/coffee/coke etc? - if you haven't it might be caffeine withdrawal causing that as well.Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan

Caffeine withdrawal can be very unpleasant and leave you with huge moodswings. Try it with cream, just to get it into you, then deal with reducing the quantity you drink later. I find Redbush (aka rooibos, 11 o'clock, tick-tock) tea without milk is a good substitute for black tea with milk, it's far sweeter so having milk/cream in it makes it taste like normal tea with sugar in (ok, not quite, it's a little more fragrant, but it's close).
and good luck!
oh and, I've previously managed to get into ketosis while still having milk in my first cup of tea of the day, that's was the really difficult one for me to to break and, having gone through caffeine withdrawal several times I can honestly say I find it far more difficult than carb withdrawal, especially now I know about the need to keep your salts balancedEat food. I switched from skimmed milk which I'd had since 1985 to Lactofree filtered semi-skimmed milk as lower carb. Within three days I was used to it.
I'm giving up Diet Pepsi because I gave up sweeteners about a week ago. I found that normal ordinary tea is pretty horrible without sweeteners. However Earl Grey with a smidgeon of Lactofree or lemon is good also got Palanquin cardamom tea which is good with Lactofree. It seems to me that the more fragrant the tea, the less I miss the sweetener.
I think trying to do it all at once is too much I'd suggest cutting down first then as you lose weight getting tougher with yourself.0 -
Cutting out carbs entirely not easy! However, I now eat 2 x protein and a few carbs per day to help keep my blood sugars lower. High dose steroids and diabetes II problems due to another more serious illness. I gave up all white refined sugar in hot drinks well over a year back now. First I cut it down to 1 teaspoon for a week, then I went with sweetners for a month and finally went with none. I do not eat ready meals, but cook from scratch and not only that reduced fat products often have higher carb/sugar contents than full fat. Esp mayonaise. Eating carbs are what makes us get hunger pangs sooner, so we eat another meal or snack when we should not really need to( so overeating happens). I find that now I eat more protein content in diet, same amount quantity wise, just different contents, that I no longer get those pangs so do not need lots of snacks. Or if I do need something then an apple/banana or few grapes will help. Not only that but I have now lost well over 9 stone and it is staying off. I still eat around 2-2500 cals per day if averaged out over a week. Some days less, some more. But then I do weigh in region of 21.70 stones (139.1 kg). This is the lightest I have been since before 1988!
The headaches will be caffein withdrawal, so drinking more water will help rehydrate. Avoid full sugar and diet versions of fizzy drinks, but the Zero ones are OK so long as you do not drink more than a glass per day. Try not to drink too much citrus based fruit juice a small glass with breakfast should be enough. These are things that have helped me loads.0 -

If I had to nominate one book it would be The Art and Science of Low Carbohydrate Living. It's expensive as a book but only £6.60 on kindle so you can read it on your PC if you don't have a kindle/ phone/ tablet etc. More sciencey than Taube but still a relatively easy read.Eat food. I used to get massive headaches from carb withdrawal as well so there's a good chance it's both.Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan

Thats what i was doing, managed the 19 hours quite easily, went from 6pm til 1pm next day, but now, my breaks are either 12pm 2pm or 3pm ish, if we're very busy we have to wait. Dont think i could manage 6pm til 3pm next day, and if you dont eat at break there's no opportunity until next break.
Any suggestions welcomed tho.
OK, this might seem a bit of a strange one but I do have a suggestion...
The principle of IF is to take advantage of the body's natural increase in insulin sensitivity that occurs after 8-10 hours of not eating. But, with logical hat on, that's surely to do with eating carbs. So, a couple of teaspoons of coconut oil might satiate you and enable you to last out until 3? No carbs = no insulin = still technically fasting?
Comments anyone? Am I being daft?Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan
