bossymoo - it took me a while to get used to cream in my tea. i have gone back to full fat milk which seems to be ok at the moment.

Sistercass - my hubby is really bad with snoring. doctors just say its his weight but he was like it when we met and he was skinny so until he loses the weight the doctor wont do anything (he also has sleep apnea)

got just dance 3 for the kids so we will be doing that after school next week. :D

(((sistercas and nuttybabe))) sheila54, you escaped ;) My OH talks in his sleep :D

We are not alone...Novak Djokavic low carbs because he has gluten intolerance. Ben Affleck low carbed for Pearl Harbour and stuck with it. Sol Campbell says Arsene Wenger has the entire team at Arsenal FC low carbing. F1 champion Jenson Button low carbs permanently. Saudi billionaire Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, (owner of the Savoy in London and Georges V in Paris) is on a permanently sugar free diet. Channing Tatum low carbed to prepare for GI Joe. The main cast members of new movie franchise The Hunger Games low carbed to prepare. Renee Zellweger, Geri Halliwell, Catherine Zeta Jones, Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston have all low carbed too.

I switched to Lactofree and quit artificial sweeteners. Co-op 99 tea suddenly tasted horrible. Earl Grey no lemon smidgen of Lactofree is great though :)

I'm doing an order for stuff like ghee, coconut oil etc today so that'll be fun to experiment with :)

I have been good of late but...
there have been free chocolates in the canteen, broken Lindt bunnies, Lindor, creme eggs etc etc :(
I have indulged (only a bit) and paid the price by not losing at all.

Had a carby day today and start back tomorrow when i get supplies.

Did have lots of comments to make yesterday but was too tired to post and have forgotten now :o

Anyway, hope everyone has had a nice Sunday, mine was really relaxed and i am happily in bed on my lappy now :)

Chocolate is a hard one, I know!! There are 8 Easter eggs belonging to my grandchildren on the side in my breakfast room and several cream eggs and a box of Lindor in my bedroom that were given to me. If I indulge then I have one wrapped Lindor in the evening but I can't find out how many carbs in one piece? Suppose that one is better than all :D

I have burned 155 cals today and 190 yesterday on the exercise bike so I really am hoping to lose something tomorrow when I weigh. Have also followed advice and drunk more water and tried to stick to 35 carbs a day. We'll see ;)

I think that weekends and eating out are harder for most people but Monday is a good day to start over if temptation has reared it's ugly head.

Mercy I may get some melatonin if you are sure that it doesn't have side effects as I am sleeping really badly, averaging 5 hours a night and up twice during that time. At least it gets light earlier now.

Have a good day and please keep posting everyone. We can all help and encourage each other :)

Poor sleep leads to weight gain so it would help if you can get a few more hours each night - https://www.drbriffa.com/2012/02/10/can-lack-of-sleep-contribute-to-obesity/

Sheila54 you're making yourself fret by looking at calories all the time. Please ignore them OK ? Calories belong in the lab.

Chocolate.. it's better than bad sex but the milk chocolate stuff is carb heavy. So if it were me I'd be firm with the grandchildrens' parents and ask them to remove their kids' chocolate so I'm not surrounded by that delectable aroma.

Personally I'd be upset that my family ignored my low carb diet and gave me milk chocolate Easter eggs.

I'd politely give them back saying: " Sorry I can't eat milk chocolate, I'm on a diet, I have mentioned it ".

I would be prepared for the I-didn't-want-you-to-feel-left-out argument and personally I'd feel that if that were true, my family should be supportive and give me the dark chocolate that I DO eat.

Sometimes it's laziness ie I might as well buy five eggs or it was a BOGOF and sometimes diet sabotage (my ex SIL did this to my mother).

Then there's the always the " Just one won't hurt " brigade and my mother still does this to me. For people on any kind of restricted diet for health reasons, that one might make a big difference.

If you accept the proffered one item, you lose the whole battle because then family members can say " well you had it before ".

Another diet sabotaging strategy is " I made it specially". Again my mother does this, but since she now knows that I won't eat cake, she expects me to say no. That means that my carb loving mother can pig out on the excuse that's she only eating it so it doesn't get wasted !!:rotfl:

Lindor chocolates are carby..Three of the dark chocolate truffles are 15g, three of the milk chocolate ones 16g and three of the truffles with filling 15g. A whole bar of Lindt Excellence 90% cocoa dark chocolate is 14g.

I can't resist chocolate, but the only stuff I'll have around is the 90%. That is dark and bitter at first but now I love it and milk chocolate tastes too sweet.

And if it makes everyone feel better when you have probs resisting milk chocolate, bread and biscuits and I don't seem to..

Day One of giving up diet Pepsi and I'm climbing the walls already :(

    Hello
It might be wise to get a book, really, mummyoftheboys. That way you can follow a specific plan until you get the hang of it. I started with Dukan and now doing Atkins, I have no preference but like a change now and again.

doesn't have to be crap, although you might have to unlearn what you think crap is, lol. But a nice salmon salad surely isn't crap?

Other than that, avoid anything with sugar, or grains. Check labels carefully. Drink plenty of water.

Someone more experienced will be along to offer their thoughts.

Best wishes, it's so easy putting on the weight, wish it was as easy to lose...

Having said that, I am more than 3 st down on the beginning of lat year, thanks to low carbing. And I've been plenty naughty along the way, that weightloss has been in fits and starts.

I'm so trying to get under the stone mark before we jet off to Spain on Saturday. I'm three pounds away, grr, perhaps it won't happen...

I had a very enjoyable low carb breakfast thanks to Mrs G's sausage and egg muffins...

Edit: It's not as big as it looks. Those are cherry tomatoes.

Viv's modified Atkins way of eating - https://www.diabetes.co.uk/diabetes-forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=18803&sid=cf49604f89f025c1c9d47596d6049ce7 - is one example.

If you have questions, there's plenty of help from other low-carbers on the forum.
