If there was a double thanks button I would push it for all you lovely ladies, especially for the pizza one as we always have home-made pizza on saturdays and I was feeling quite challenged!!
I am really struggling to convince myself that its healthy to eat so much animal fat and meat, but am trying to change my mindset.
I'm gonna try hard to draw up a menu over the weekend, so I might be coming back soon for help!!
    THANKYOU again.xx

The cauliflower crust and the mushroom crust are both excellent as well, it's just that this was the first time I'd tried the chicken one because I didn't believe it would be any good); the cauliflower one is a lovely bland base that will be ok with those who aren't keen on/ allergic to mushrooms.

    Hi
I have started today, Atkins and not Dukan, see if I can get things moving again.
So I've had leftover coronation chicken (hm, just chicken, mayo and curry powder) for breakfast, a plain omelette with salad for lunch, a cup of bovril mid afternoon as I am feeling listless, and probably tuna salad later.

I've had a dash of cream in one cup of tea, and will probably have another later, and I've made up some sugar free jelly. I made up to 500ml with water and then another 100 of cream, is this ok? Can't stand jelly, but this makes it palatable. I'll probably have 1/3 of this tonight so it's not loads of cream.

Also refilling my water bottle as I go, so fluids should be ok.

I'd appreciate any tips or comments on my menu for today. Once out of induction I'll look into some breakfast muffins to take to work, I think.

    Thanks!

Not a lot of carbs there - around 6 carbs according to my reckoning with what you have said. You can have 20 carbs on induction for Atkins so I would have some vegetables and nuts for fibre:)

Like the mad March hare hannoja, especially the maniacal eyes!

daska - nice recipe but may try it with the cauliflower crust

    Out today so had
breakfast - scrambled egg, sausage + half hash brown
lunch - small portion moussaka with salad, melon for dessert and 1 baileys coffee (no sugar added)
    snack - handful nuts
    home now but
    dinner - not sure yet

Over allowance but best of the choice that I was given.

Miserable day today - are we going to be good for Mothers' Day tomorrow?

Thanks. I had salad twice, including cherry tomatoes. I also snacked on 2 mini babybel.

I understood from the link not to have nuts during induction? If I can that would be great! Is soy flour ok? I can do some nice bread with soy flour and ground almonds...

The cauli is good but the chicken has a substantial advantage, especially if you're doing induction, it leaves you with a carb allowance to have some coleslaw or some such with the pizza instead of using it up in the crust.

    Sorry no, you are right

I didn't use the Atkins guide as I started on a candida diet but also measured carbs. After 4 weeks I increased my allowance by 5 carbs a week until weight loss stopped. That was 50 carbs but on Monday I am going back to 30 - 35 to try and break the stall.

I also prefer to have half an avacado to tomatoes but it is personal preference.

daska - will give your pizza with chicken crust a try next week. Pizza is not my favourite meal but variety is.............

    Hi all

Is there a low carb substitute for milk that isn't soya milk please ? Would a lactose-free milk work ? Am drinking green tea, Earl Grey, fennel & nettle but as there's no way I could put cream in *normal* tea, I just wondered ?

    Thanks !

BTW Holland & Barrett website has flaxseed at BOGO1/2 price as well as other stuff.

Breakfast : two free range boiled eggs
Lunch: Waitrose Delicatezze asparagus frittata served with cottage cheese and oven baked veg (fennel, celery, shallots, celeriac with EV olive oil and zaa'tar)
    Dinner: small bowl veg soup
Treat: 2 scoops Kelly's clotted cream ice cream (11g) plus 4 squares Lindt 90% cocoa chocolate
  • Hi im 5 days into the induction and have lost 4lb but the last 2 days it has stayed the same. I did read somewhere that certain medications can interfere with the diet, antidepressants being one of them.
Im currently on a very low dose of antidepressant which ive been weaning off and also take valium almost daily. do you think this could be slowing things down for me?

Also one question that i cant seem to find out is; is sugar free jelly allowed on induction?

    many thanks
