mazzers and Sistercas..... I'm so pleased to read about the ease of IFing that you're finding.:j:T Once you find the "sweet spot" of your fasting interval, it's a doddle, IMHO!! I too found that heartburn and any digestive problems I'd formally had, disappeared, and totally agree with your summerization of "eating regularly means constant acid production". I also think that this is a very natural woe, for our genetically-ancient bodies. It's a bit like how animals stop eating when they are ill, so diverting energy consumption away from digestion and towards healing!! Not making your body spendsomany hours a day digesting food, releases it and it's energy to rebuild and renew itself, and less food=less acid production=less inflamation=less pain/heartburn!
I have found that the longer I've been IFing, the easier it has become, and now I hardly have even the slightest rumble/hunger pang...except when food o'clock approaches!!:rotfl:
 Here's to more poundage release :rotfl::T

Well done mazzers, sistercas, Skymist with your intermittent fasting (I think that is what IF means?) Not eating for 19 hours is a long time.
I have to take Losec to supress acid production due to an ulcer & hiatus hernia and have found that I have been able to cut the dose in half on this diet. However, if I have too many carbs I get bad heartburn and have to up the dosage so what you say makes sense:T
caeler - good luck with the weekend
Edwardia - about the only thing that I have ever used dripping for is roasting potatoes but my Dad used to have it on toast.
hannoja and mazzers - are you feeling better?
Sunnyday - hi, sounds like you are doing well
Still nothing from Mercy, puddings and others over the past week, are you ok?
Breakfast - 40g mixed nuts - 4 carbs
Lunch - out. Mushroom soup (unthickened) and about 4oz steak with peppers, onions and mushrooms. Steak very tough. - 6 carbs . aliasojo must have been rump. Best steak is fillet, in my opinion, but very expensive!!
Coffee with cream and shot of Baileys - 15 carbs
Dinner - Garlic and rosemary chicken with ratatouille and cheesy leeks - 6 carbs0 -

Ah so that's what it is.
How did this start then? Please don't tell me I have to trawl all the way through the thread. You lot talk loads...it would take me ages.Herman - MP for all!0 -
Sheila, feeling much better; thanks for asking. Will resume cardio/aerobic exercise on Monday :j
Just enjoyed a 'Bake to perfection' wild pink salmon fillet with broccoli and swede chips. Was scrumptious!
Enjoying G&T now. Mmmmmmmmmmm........
That coffee and Baileys sounds deelish Sheila! Tthlrrrrrppp!
OH was just looking over my shoulder. Told him to sod off; since he's only taking an interest due to Mr G & T!! Pffft!!
I'm sure I had another reason for posting... something else to say... I'll be darned if I can remember what it was though......

Was good yesterday, till I drank too much gin and went foraging in the kitchen
B: lc whey pancakes (~4g)
L: lc flaxbread bacon sani. (~2g)
T: Salmon fillet with swede chips and broccoli (~5-10g)
Other: Usual drinks and stuff, plus plenty of gin and low cal tonic, then 'grazed' in the kitchen: few. Oops.
Total: Erm... enough to not bother counting!
Exercise: 20 mins Yoga booty, 15 mins. stretch.
Not too bothered about the mini binge. Won't be pleased if I've gained, but not really expecting to lose this week. Should lose when I start the cardio/aerobic exercise again (Monday hopefully).
On the subject of exercise, quite interesting Horizon programme on TV the other night, about how only 3 minutes of high intensity exercise a week can benefit us. They talk about it here on lowcarber.org. Like one of the posters there, I didn't like the way they talked about how eating fat clogs us up either

Morning all. Not so pleased it's Sat today, makes for a long day here. Might have to brave the weather and take mutt out for a longer walk just so backside is off couch for at least a portion of the day.
I seem to be sleeping a bit better once I do get off properly. OH came in from night shift and got into bed at some point in the early hours and the first I knew was when I started waking up and felt him with my leg. I nearly wet myself. :rotfl:I usually wake when he comes to bed and that's fine cos I know he's there then, but waking up to a body beside you, you didn't hear getting in, is a bit disconcerting.
Weighed myself today. Wasn't supposed to until Monday as that would be my first week up then. Happy to say I've lost 7lbs so I must be doing something right.
I'm not doing the old Atkins Induction thing I used to stick to, I'm kinda making it up for myself and I'm eating loads of veg that wouldn't really have been allowed on induction.
I'm also eating only when I feel hungry. And if that means it doesn't tie in with family meal times then so be it. At the moment I'm eating two reasonably sized meals a day. I make sure one of them has various veg involved.
Next week will be tougher I suppose as no doubt all of this week's loss was water. Mind you I'm bigger than I was before and the fatter you are, the more you lose.:D
Sheila, will try fillet next time, thanks.
Hope you are all good over the weekend.
Step away from any remaining gin hannoja.Herman - MP for all!0 -

aliasjo thats more or less what i do , i make up my own lc diet i dont count carbs either , i just go with what i know is low , add some veg and occasional berries . i am trying intermittent fasting at the mo , but im wondering if its making me eat more crap in the eating windows , last night I demolished a box of DHs choccies
I weighed this morning and have gained 2lbs ( not surprising really after 2 mega binges this week )
i have fasted from around 8pm last night , i intend to fast until tea time tonight , but i wont berate myself if i bail at lunchtime .
off to have my hair cut , the house is tidy ( i'll bet it isnt when i get back)0 -
Morning all
Feeling a bit under the weather again, losing my voice, tickly throat etc, prob stress from all the driving, hate a busy mortorway..also never driven on motorway in fog before and it's horrible.
Not fussed on my new job either, dont think i'll stay, giving it til Monday.
Alias, well done, that should give you some motivation.
I reckon fillet is best too, but have never had a tough sirloin and i just pan fry those.
My rumps have always been tough but my son cooked a couple and they were lovely, apparently he hammered the life out of them with those spiky hammer thingys.. did the trick tho.
Edwardia, my mums generation always used dripping years ago, even cooked chips in it (only had them occasionally mind) and we were all skinny back then.. oh for the good old days
Skymist, i'm the same when 'food o'clock' approaches
Not hungry til then and am amazed i can go so long and be so energetic and focused without eating.
It is hard remembering not to pop odd bits in your mouth when prepping food tho, even slices of cucumber or tiny bits of cheese when making sarnies.
Had 3 small glasses of wine last night as got weekend off, didnt really want a drink but had made arrangements for a friend to call over, unfortunately my eating window was closed, as skymist said i need to get the best eating time sorted, atm due to this job it's 1-6pm.
Lost 1 and quarter lb over night but thats prob a bit of dehydration from the wine.
I really think i have found the perfect woe for me
Sheila its a pity you cant try it, but your doing great on lc anyway0
