Please can you direct me to the recipe for the bread? I had trouble with the flax but think I'll try it again as I need to keep regular!

    Thanks

Just got in from shopping, and on my travels, I popped into Sainsbury's to have a gander at that peanut butter, that was being talked about earlier on this thread.

Sainsbury's basics Crunchy Peanut Butter....the one with white lid and orange writing.

Price 62p per 340gram jar...this was in a main branch, not an express-type shop.

    Ingredients:-
Roasted Peanuts (87%), Rapeseed Oil, Sugar, Palm Oil, Salt.

    Nutrition per 100grams:-
    606 kcal
    23.6g protein
    3.9g carbohydrate, of which sugars = 1.9g
    51.5g fat, of which 7.3g = saturates, 36g =mono-unsaturates, 4.1g= polyunsaturates
    16.2g fibre
    0.95g salt

Is it possible to "de-carb" foods? The roasted peanuts alone would have a count of 6.2g per 100g, without taking into account the added sugar.
I do hope the label is right as I adore PNB and would eat much more if it were lower carb. Yet the logical part of my brain says it can't be.
The fibre on the Sainsbury's one looks odd too, my Whole Earth is 7.1/100g.

I don't know sofababe. I'm in Edinburgh, so quite a distance from where the others saw/bought theirs, although jars from the same batches would be distributed all over the country. I bought a jar, so posted what was written on it. The only way, AFAIK that one could "de-carb" foods would be to add more protein or fat (here via the rapeseed and palm oils), thus altering the macro-nutrient ratios within the 100gram measurement IYSWIM (shrugs).

To be honest, the texture is very different - it is much runnier. I think it MAY be something to do with additional oil added, but don't know if that would affect the fibre.

    Hi Everyone,
Has anyone seen my mojo please? I seem to have mislaid it somewhere.

I'm still eating low carb, but think I'm eating too much of it because I'm not losing weight or inches at the moment. that may have something to do with the wine, etc at the weekend though.

Hannoja - thanks for the recipe, I'm going to bookmark it, don't think I should try it just yet.

Well done on the losses, ladies.

Hannoja and Shelia54 thanks for the tips! I am looking forward to it now, I had been slightly nervous as I don't want to break the diet! I know that if I do, even for a moment the flood gates open. I'm working towards 11 March, when I'll be having some chocolate cake! Yay!

    Thanks, what a lovely website:)

Now find that flax can cause problems with underactive thyroid so guess that I will have to give it a miss as I don't want to have tablets if I can avoid it.

I have tried the muffins and think that I made them too moist but I do like the almond pancakes and chocolate mousse so at least I can have something sweet. Now need to find more recipes with coconut or almond flour as a base.

    How has everyone been today?

    Off to bed so nite

Ow, bless you. That reminded me of a little book I read with my youngest the other day called, "Have you got my purr?". So sweet.

Hope you find it soon Mini.

Oh what a shame :( At least you've got the pancakes. You could try tweaking the muffins too. Also, you could substitute almond flour for other types of flour in recipes.. I wonder what the flaxbread would be like just with almond flour....

Yesterday went okay, though a little disappointed by lack of loss reported by wii fit. I didn't do wii fit, as I'm still not feeling good, but after my yoga I weighed again (just in case..) and had apparently put on a pound in that hour.. pic.php?u=192330YvJo&i=11572750 Carpeted uneven floor isn't the best surface.

    B: 2 frankies 'n' sauce (~2g)
L: salami, cheese, lettuce, red cabbage, mayo sani (2 slices flaxbread), and ~5 Brazils. Nom! (~6g)
T: Chicken, red cabbage, cauli stir fry, with chillies, bit of onion (needed using), garlic, etc.. (~8g..?)

    O: Tea, coffee, 4 pts water/g-tea+lemon, s/f gum, s/f mint, .. (~2g)

    Total carbs: ~18g..?

Exercise: Hour's walk with chops, hour's Ashtanga yoga (my new blocks finally arrived so had to test them out :D).

Yes, as I've found out with the differing values of ground almonds, which range from 6.5g to 22.5g per 100g. It may be that the peanuts are de-fatted, which apart from lowering the carb content, also takes out a lot of the valuable fats and minerals.

Hannajo - take no notice of the weight readings on the Wii if you are on carpet, unless you can put it on a hard floor or large board it will always be out. When I took mine off the rug and put it on the wood floor I lost 8LBS!!!!

what a beautiful day it is today, i`ve neglected the house and spent the morning in the garden after walking the woofaloes :D

Just eating my brekkie of bacon, shrooms & buttered scramblies - i seem to be enjoying it more than usual - think that the sunshine does this to me :D

Dinner today will be a ham & salad sandwich on lc bread with mayo instead of butter and tea will be pork chops with a teensy weensy bit of gravy and broccolli & cauliflower cheese. That reminds me, i must get a couple of tuna steaks out of the freezer to thaw for tomorrow.

Minihauk - Hope that your mojo is back now and making up for lost time!
