Have we all fallen off the wagon then?

I have a very good excuse.. first day in new job and i'm ill :(
I'm almost never ill with silly colds and stuff but my throat is sore and i'm a bit hot, also, my contact lens has rubbed my eye raw, first bloody day out of the opticians, sods law, never get probs with them either.. cant get it checked now til Saturday.
    Say Aaaaaaah :D

Anyhoo, i've had some cereal after my 'window' has closed, a boiling hot shower, a paracetamol and i'm in bed.

Right, where do i start, Welcome back Alias :T
Hann, that is lovely music, i love this girls voice

Aliasojo I am back too! I've now on Day 15 and I've lost 5lb. I've forgotten how wonderful low carbing can be and I decided to start from scratch again to retrain myself, I'd got kind of arrogant with my eating habits.

I had a delish cheese and bacon salad today for lunch which kept me going all day! Tonight was a cauliflower cheese with some veggies. Tomorrow is my big challenge, at an all day meeting with the day starting with bacon sandwiches with lunch provided. I need to navigate through the day without being the weirdo eating strangely! It's with a client group so this will be interesting.

Wb Alias! Was wondering where you'd got to :hello:
Sorry things haven't been great for you, but nice to have you back :D

    Cas... :naughty:

No matter. As others have said, start over tomorrow. Tomorrow's a new day. Tuesday is the new Monday :rotfl:

I'm feeling fed up too. Not sure why. Think I must be a depressive and it just goes with the territory. Don't fancy pills and prescriptions (what happened when I did tell the Doc. a while back): prefer the DIY route (eating better, Yoga, etc.. ). Some of us just ain't wired quite right.
    Ho hum.
Thank goodness tomorrow is a new day

On a nicer note, my boys were listening to this on their DvD player over and over the other evening, and we've been playing it a bit since. Beautiful isn't it? :)

Loved the music and the video, memories!

Sorry that you are feeling down - hugs to you

    Hi Alias:hello:

narabanekeater - well done with the weight loss

mazzers - sorry you are not feeling well

Gloomendoom - my family hate the smell when I boil up the chicken carcass and fish must be worse

    Still nothing from Mercy

I have now cut out coffee, except decaff, my daily Baileys and cut down on processed meat and bacon so I hope that I lose tomorrow.

I have also gone down to 35 carbs a day, whereas I was on 50. May sound a lot to those on induction but I've been doing this for 9 months now. Really want to lose another two and a half stone but it is getting so much harder.

    Hi Peeps

Well done to all our losers :j seems like we are all doing quite well really especially as so many of us are trying different things.

Mazzers - Aw hope that you feel better soon, _pale_@ your eye - i`m a bit weird and squeamish with eyes lol

Hanno - I get a bit depressed sometimes too, not as often these days but i was the same with the docs. They just wanted to put me on meds which i refused.

Alias - Welcome back :D Nice to "see" you again :hello: Not sure where Sweet is, not heard from her for a while.

Sistercas - 6 digestives is nowt :D Mine would have had strawberry jam spread all over them and whipped cream on top :D

Update - I`m fine, been eating slightly more carbs than the last couple of weeks but i`ve not gained and feel fine, i`m blaming DH for that :D

Despite constantly saying that he is hungry DH has done rather well and actually stuck to what he is supposed to be eating - bar the beer at night. He is only drinking the one bottle and i suppose that it won`t do any harm as he really doesn`t need to lose any weight at all.

We`ve just been and done a huge @ldi shop today so hopefully we have enough food in for the next week - should bloomin well hope so with what we've spent  I wish that lc food was cheaper!

BF today was bacon, mushrooms and buttered scramblies
Dinner was Chopped up frikadellen, cubed cheese, a chopped gherkin and a dollop of mayo - i`m chopping everything up to make it look like more for DH :D

Tea was spinach and zero carb burgers.

I`m just debating whether or not to have a can of guinness:D
I know that i shouldn`t but we've been sorting through some stuff in the shed and found a case of it along with a case of spitfire and a case of san miguel :rotfl: These are the ones that i hid so that they wouldn`t get drunk before Christmas and they have only just surfaced.

    HMMM, will i or won`t i :D

Beanrua, Gers, Mercy - Where are you?

Right, cheapo electricity time has just kicked in so i`m off to turn the washing machine and the dishwasher on, the lc loaf smells like it is almost cooked too :D

Have a good evening peeps

Hi there, hope it's OK for me to drop in.. I low carb for health reasons although I could probably stand losing a stone.

I don't eat bread, cakes, biscuits, puddings, pastries, pastry, potatoes, sweet potatoes, parsnips or sweetcorn. I've learned to prefer Lindt Excellence 90% cocoa chocolate bars to a box of Leonidas, with difficulty. I'm cutting down on milk and drinking more green tea. I've wrestled with and given up cracked black pepper Kettle chips and popcorn too *sob*

But what I miss is rice. I love curry and fake rice made with the dreaded cauliflower just sounds gross. Anyone found any other alternatives please ?

Sunnyday - you make me laugh when I read your listings. Do you know of any recipes for low carb bread or cake without wheat, gluten or flax please?

    Hi:wave:

How low are you going? Could you have a tbsp of cooked rice and count the carbs - would be about 8? The fake rice is not too bad either, but not the same of course. I just bulk out the curry with veg and find it ok on its own.

If you like milk could you substitute with cream and keep those carbs for other things that you enjoy?

    B: 2 slices lc toast, 1 frankfurter (~3g)
    L: prawn cocktail (~3g)
T: lump of left over roast pork, cold

O: Tea, coffee, ~4 pints water, s/f gum, peperami, 3 deBron wine gums, 2 squares 85% choc., nibble of h/m almond & banana cereal bars/flapjacks (~8g)

Exercise: hour's dog walk, 50 mins. Yoga

Yes Mazzers, lovely song by Ingrid Michaelson. Ahhhhh for your first sick day at work :( Hope it gets better, quickly.

Sunny, lc does seem expensive. All the cheap/reduced stuff is the carp they want us to bloat on. Wish I could forget alchol was in my shed!

Sheila, well done on the cut outs/downs. Hope it works for you :)

Still got throat from Hell. Dog was panting last night, and OH and eldest had headaches. I decided our fridge might be leaking freon, since it's been on the blink. It's outside the back door now and I have to find a new one.

    Morning all.

Day 1 over with no issues (yes I'm that pathetic these days that that in itself is an achievement :rotfl:). Day 2 started, quite looking forward to my cheese omelette.

I'd forgotten all the initial side effects of starting to low carb again.....not getting to sleep as easily, not getting to poo as easily..yadda yadda...:D I'm sure I'll adapt soon though.

Mazzers! New job....what, where? Well done.:D Hope you feel better soon and 'ouch' at the eye. Mine is watering in sympathy.

I need to spend some time reading through meal suggestions and recipes etc. I was a lazy git last time, couldn't be bothered cooking and preferred to try to get away with a few freshly cooked meals and loads of shop bought snacks like Atkins bars and peanuts. :o Not going to do that this time. Going to try to eat fresh stuff cooked from scratch. (I watched a vid by a Swedish doc who was advocating low carb but disparaged the Atkins foods , it was quite interesting. WelshWoofs supplied the link on another thread. I'll repost it here if anyone is interested. It's quite long, but very interesting. Especially the USA map! :D

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&NR=1&v=FSeSTq-N4U4

(The map bit is at 06.24, if you don't watch anything else, have a looky at that bit. Absolutely amazing. Our Governments and Health Officials have got a lot to answer for.)
Herman - MP for all! :)

    Morning Peeps

bit dull outside here today, hope that it brightens up a bit, i need some sun :D

Edwardia - i`ve been using the grated cauli for a rice substitute and as i`m lazy i grate loads at once and portion it up to freeze and then microwave it lightly. This is definitely not the best option though. I'm sure that someone posted about lightly stir frying it in butter to keep the texture. TBH i can`t always be bothered with it either so more often than not i just do what Sheila does and pop more veg in the curry. When the last few bags are gone from the freezer then i won`t be grating any more.

    Morning Sheila

I`ve just spent the last 30 mins or so looking for a lc bread recipe that doesn't contain any of the ingredients listed and haven't had much luck :( I got waylaid by all the other nice recipes
I did however find these http://lowcarbdiets.about.com/od/breads/r/lowcarbmuffins.htm Think that i may give them a whirl when i have time, i`m thinking small breadcake type sizes and not much sweetener so that they are savoury types and not sweet.

Hanno - Hope that it was the fridge and you`re all feeling better now. Good luck finging a new one.

I have a half shoulder of lamb cooking away in the remoska for later tonight when we will be having lamb kebabs green salad and feta. Not sure of the carb content for the pitta so will look later when i venture into the chest freezer. I'll probably need to save my cabs all day for just one.

Brekkie is the usual, bacon, mushrooms & buttered scramblies, not sure about dinner though just yet. I could happilly go without as i shall be busy but DH will moan as soon as he is hungry lol.

Think that i shall leave him in bed today as long as possible then he can have a late brekkie.

I`m off to feed the birdies and saw some wood up before walking the woofaloes, will be drilling some holes in walls later when it gets to a respectable time for the neighbours - i also need to prep some food for tomorrow when we are both at w*rk.

Have great lc days peeps
