Morning everyone, beautiful sunny day here, doesn't half lift your spirits
Well done sistercas, def worth trying again
Hann, glad to hear was nothing serious, hope it gets sorted, lots of us over 50 haven't got enough! It's potassium with me
Not feeling hungry atm, hopefully catching up with a ton of washing will distract me if i am plus the fact that i can have a nice roast dinner with wine at 3pm so worth waiting for, then supper at 8pm should see me through til tomorrow.
Dunno what'll happen then tho, have to see when the breaks are and adjust my eating plan accordingly.
:j:j the house next door has been sold :j:j
P.S. oooh oooh i've lost another lb, bit more incentive for today :j0 -
2lb lost this week 5lb in total for 2 weeks Atkins induction, I finally have a healthy BMI again! Yay! Just polished off a yummy eggs, bacon and sausages. Love Sunday.
I've just done my measurements too and I've lost an inch around my waist and 3 inches around my chest.0 -
Nice one caeler, we're all doing well atm, even if it's no loss at least it's not going up.
Not done a lot, seems i'm taking my car tomorrow so i've been for air and fuel, omg my tyres were almost empty, not used to run flats, will keep my beady eye on them in future.
Doing really well, bit peckish is all i can say
Looking forward to beef dinner and a nice snack before bed.
Oops, just found 3 pkts of 90 omega3 capsules, luckily use by Oct 2012 so will put my new ones away, also found CLA and cod liver oil 3pkts of each0 -
After a rather spectacular fall off the wagon yesterday (involving chips, bread and chocolate
) I'm feeling in a very LC mood today and currently have some paleo bread in the oven. Goodness knows what it's going to turn out like, looked like wet sand when it went in:eek:
It's bl00dy expensive to make, £5 for the flax plus £2 for ground almonds to make 6 little loaves.
I'm hoping my carb-fest yesterday won't be a complete waste of time and that it will convince my body to start shedding weight. I'm sick of seeing the same numbers on my scales week after week.
I'm also coming off Depo, nurse said better to stop as I'm now single and its so bad for your bones, so I'm going to put yesterday's fiasco down to hormones. I do feel a bit odd tbh.
I have a good pal who is very overweight and he has lost 11lbs in 4 weeks by eating low fat and while I'm pleased for him I'm also a [STRIKE]little bit[/STRIKE] lot jealous that he's losing and I'm not. Having said that, I don't think low fat is a very sustainable WOE, but he's Italian and could never hack low carb.0 -
been out for a meal and had a mixed grill , instead of chips i had cauli cheese :T and it was lovely , i didnt succumb to a pud although DD2 was torturing me with her pancakes , maple syrup and vanilla ice cream , i did just try a tiny piece and managed to resist the rest :A
we went for a little drive after as we live on the edge of the peak district and it was so beautiful and sunny . we stopped HERE on the way back and the girls and DH had icecreams . lovely little shop with local meat / milk/ honey - think i might go again if i can resist the ice cream0 -

Haven't got enough what? Calcium? Is that something that 'disappears' as you get older..? Is that why old people seem more 'breakable'?
Well done on the losses ladies. Lovely to see you doing well and feeling happy about it :T
Good job resisting the sweet stuff Cas. Sounds like you had a lovely outing too
Just gorged myself on roast pork. Oink oink weeeeeeeeee! Cracklin' was nice. Just had boiled leeks with mine.. a few too many I think.. feel a little 'icky' now.
Dug out my 'Living the Gi Diet' book and started reading. After watching 'Big Fat Fiasco' the other day, comments like:It's alarming to read some of the popular diet books on the market today and find that they advocate eating lots of cream, cheese and steak. These foods are all high in saturated fat, which can thicken arteries, leading to heart attack and stroke.... you must consume fewer calories than your body needs in order to burn up those fat stores. Now, I hate to bring up calories since we've probably all been driven nearly over the edge with having to count them and perform complex mathematical calculations with them. But unfortunately, unless one denies the basic laws of thermodynamics, the equation never changes: consume more calories than you expend and the surplus is stored in the body as fat. That's the inescapable fact.
Tom Naughton (the guy in the 'Big Fat Fiasco') talks a lot about how sugar is more likely to be responsible for these things than fat.
I'm sure he said something disputing the bit about calories too, but need to check.. back later..0 -
Well done everyone with your weight loss :T I weigh Mon / Tues so we'll see?
How hungry do you feel when fasting? Well done with resisting temptation Cas, do you feel virtuous?
Seems that some of us are being hit by the ageing process. I suppose that it's inevitable but annoying, none the less:(
Breakfast - 1 egg scrambled with 1 ryvita
Lunch - cheese & 1 ryvita + celery with a dessertspoon peanut butter
Evening - chicken / cheese salad inc. leaves, cucumber, beetroot (3 slices), tbsp coleslaw, mayonnaise
Snacks - handful nuts, 1 lge sq 74%chocolate
Coffee decaff with cream x 2, tea X 1, water
Around 32 carbs I reckon0 -

:rotfl: it's true, osteoporosis makes bones brittle.
After menopause you are more susceptable to osteoporosis, i think it's due to years of not absorbing enough calcium (the body needs vit d for this) and the body leeches it from the bones. Supplements are sometimes recommended.0
