Have not had a NSD, as I have bought myself a lovely travel journal (£4) for our hols in July. I like being able to remember what we were doing, so this is great, and has lots of lovely photography/travel quotes etc. Plus I am not yet halfway through my treats budget this month, so all is well with a little spend.

£4 is very good indeed, a travel journal is a lovely idea.
Nice work on the bed avoidance, Sarah, and on the continuing decluttering. :A

You would think with all this decluttering I would be living in an empty space but every time I sort something, another thing pops up in it's place. I think I may have broken the habit of a life time, at any other time I would have got the bed and thought it was a bargain, but I just reminded myself that my habit of buying things for my future home means I have lots of furniture but no home.

I like Glasgow Pink but obviously the nice bits! I've been lost in some of the not so nice bits and been ever so relieved to get back out.

I've never had these chocolate covered limes that everyone talks about but feel compelled to buy some - obviously I'll have to wait 3 months...

Oh, they're lovely Skint Spice. About £3 for a box so I buy them every 3 months but nice.

Hope you have had a nice day.

are they like the hard lime sweeties with chocolate in the middle or soft centres?

I've had a lovely day at the beach with DS thanks. Scotland is lovely when the sun is shining! (that might only be ten days per annum but still...)

    Hey everyone!

Pink - how scary! Hope you feel better soon. That kind of thing can really shake you up. Good luck with your job search!

I'm now feeling compelled to hit M&S up for some choc limes.....thank goodness there's no M&S near me!!

Sarah - well done on the bed, there are often lots of sales and things and I'm sure when the time comes for you to move into your flat there'll be a bargain for you to snap up!

I've spent the day making a pinafore dress for my niece out of an old pair of jeans and an old blouse. It isn't exactly amazing (don't look toooo hard at the hem! Even isn't a popular word in my house right now) but definitely wearable!

So I'm feeling rather frugal and oldstyle etc.

I was also pretty lucky, I started watching Some Like it Hot on TV yesterday, I love that film, but had to leave to go shopping, so missed the last hour. Then today I was flicking through and it was on again pretty much exactly where I left off yesterday! Hmm, TV karma on my side again! :j (oh dear, the sad things that please me......)
I've got my own flat :j:j

Now I have to pay the bills

And feed my interiors addiction ;)

Ooh, I love it when little things like that happen :j

    Hi

I thought I'd join this thread to try and keep myself on the straight and narrow as I seem to be attempting to live a champagne lifestyle on a baked beans budget. I've been putting things on one side to sell on ebay and I've also been looking to do matched betting. Has anybody had a go at this?

    Gwenx

    Hi Gwen

I totally know what you mean about champagne lifestyle! I'm constantly looking for ways to do lovely and fun things but with spending as little as possible! My friends laugh a lot about all the vouchers I arm myself with.

As far as Matched Betting goes, I don't think it is my thing. It seems to require a bit more time than I'm willing to invest. However I do read Moo2Moo's diary and she has done so well on it. She has made a lot of money and seems to have got the idea of it all.

As far as I can gather, she read up all the stuff on the Matched Betting boards and there are various websites that help you find the bets to do.

You can also go on the referrers board and they have codes to help you get free bets with the various bookies.

Good luck if you decide to give it a go!
