PinkTwirl, glad you are ok, what a frightening thing to happen. It looks like they weren't looking for trouble and only came to your house because they thought it was empty, not a nice thing to happen but at least they were probably only chancing it and ran off.
Was trying to be good and had nearly completed an NSD but I decided I wanted some wine, have been drinking coffee and fruit tea all day, went to the shop and got 2 bottles, which should at least last me for the week, total spend today £7.98.
Have definitely decided not to buy bed, I want to throw everything at the debts/savings for my own house and getting more stuff here will just make it more difficult to move when I do. I am hoping this is all going to be worth it when I check my savings in 3 months time:rolleyes:Pay/save £20k in 2010 £5888.75/£20,000June Mini target 0/5lbs Total 23/40Ebay profit 2010: March £207:) April £95:) May £130:) June £0 Total £432:j0 -
Hi Yargo and Sarah,
Glad that work was ok for you Yargo, I know what you mean, I think a lot of people are still a bit scared of computers so I guess you are taking the brunt of it. Your herbal tea puts me to shame, although I'll probably be singing myself to sleep to s'express in 3 hours time.:rotfl:
Hi Sarah, yeah, they were only young girls and I tried not to overreact too much. I think they might have been on the look out for an unlocked door. I was scared that it was someone that was going to attack me. I slammed the door shut, turned the handle and reached for the phone. Felt like an idiot dialing 999 but didn't know what else to do.
£7.98 is a good spend. Not buying the bed is good. I'm desperately trying not to buy the £25 bedroom set that would end up costing another £80 to get it. I don't need it!!!
We can have a virtual glass of wine together! Clink to you Sarah and your herbal tea Yargo!
How are you Fee Fee and everyone else and new folk? Everyone doing ok?0 -
Im watching the secret millionaire show, seems really good this episode. feeling sleepy now though! yeah it is probably the case that when in shock it is hard enough to talk to someone let alone type up a claim form.. some of the people we talk to are really lovely tbf.
have given the tea a miss with the talk of wine! lol so not having anything !
night night all , will catch up with you tomorrow xDEBT FREE - MARCH 2012 - NOW JUST THE MORTGAGE!

 Pink Twirl - Glad you are ok - that must have been scary. I bet the adrenalin is still pumping away there. And at least word should get around that the house is not a soft touch. Hope the medicinal wine is doing the trick.
We've been out today to see the godchildren: GD2 is 7 and GS2 is 3 in July. Most of the afternoon has been spent out in the garden on their massive climbing frame, where I have discovered that I am more of a wuss than GS2 when it comes to the slide. GS2 is a great fan of cars, but was rather worried about the replacement car we have at the moment while ours is being repaired. "Poorly car" was the verdict on the posemobile otherwise known as a convertible. :rotfl:Mouths of babes & all that...
Have not had a NSD, as I have bought myself a lovely travel journal (£4) for our hols in July. I like being able to remember what we were doing, so this is great, and has lots of lovely photography/travel quotes etc. Plus I am not yet halfway through my treats budget this month, so all is well with a little spend.
Nice work on the bed avoidance, Sarah, and on the continuing decluttering. :A And Yargo, that sounds like a hard working day.
That idea of the meet up sounds great, although if we have to be thin for it, you may have to wait a while for me...If we meet in the autumn, I may be able to add several layers of winter clothing aka the cloak of invisibility.
Btw - has anyone seen Shoe Gal? Just wondering how she is getting on, as I haven't seen her around for a couple of days. Hope all's well if you are lurking, oh Supersonic one.0 -
Night night Yargo, chat to you tomorrow x0

I am starving but I am too lazy to get off the bed and make anything. Today I have had beans on toast, sausages and yorkshire pud, lots of coffee and fruit teas. Might have some wine in a bit.
Did any one watch the diet programme last week, Professor Regan I think it was? It would appear my worst fears are realised, the only way to lose weight is to eat less and exercise more. But I am hungry and lazyI haven't eaten a great deal today though and I will count the decluttering as exercise.
It was weird to go through all my clothes (the nice bagged up ones) I forgot how many nice things I have. They are mostly Autumn/Winter type things so hopefully I will be able to get in them by then. I am hoping my only doing one shopping trip a week is going to help, it will save money as I won't be throwing stuff out but also I will be eating less as there isn't a lot of rubbish to snack on.
Am hoping that whenever I think I need a takeaway I can direct myself to the cupboards for something sensible by reminding myself all available funds are going to the house fund.Pay/save £20k in 2010 £5888.75/£20,000June Mini target 0/5lbs Total 23/40Ebay profit 2010: March £207:) April £95:) May £130:) June £0 Total £432:j0 -
Hello y'all
PinkTwirl - your life is just full of drama - hope you are ok and locked up safe now. Chink chink to youand you Sarah
Don't think you're a snob at all - the council has just evicted a family from the corner of our road that were always out on the street till all hours causing trouble - vandalising cars and chucking stuff and making you feel uncomfortable if you just wanted to go to the corner shop, took over 2 years for the complaints and police visits etc to get any action. Not a nice feeling when you don't feel safe behind your own door because of a bunch of idiot thugs
Spent £18.44 in M&S on pizzas and salad and wineneeded a treat cos its back to work tomorrow:eek:
Yargo/Holyberry I'm up for the meet too..don't know where, don't know when....;)FeeFee

Thanks Fee Fee. Guess Glasgow is very different to Bournemouth. I'm used to people saying a place is a slum if it's got nice Victorian housing and a lack of parking! A bad area in Bournemouth is like a very good area in Glasgow it seems. I'm starting to understand why everyone in the South of England is scared of the Glasgow accent. There are some great areas in Glasgow, some very clever people and I've never seen so many Astin Martins and Porches in my life since I've come back, but well, I admit now, there are some pretty bad areas? Anyway, I don't judge people on what they've got, it's how people treat others. A bin man with manners is better than an investment banker on £100K that is an !!!!.
That reminds me, I remember walking past Bank tune station in the City when I lived in London. I heard him shout down the phone "but I said I'd buy you dinner!!!".
Ha ha.
Memories. Never mind.
Jeez, I like red wine. Does that mean I'm getting old?!?!!!!
Hope your M&S pizza was good FeeFee! I meant to get chocolate covered lime chocolates from there today but forgot.
