    I don't know as I didn't weigh myself as had a slightly bad week and didn't want to make it any worse by feeling even fatter:o I will know next weekend, am hoping to be at least the same or another lb off. Am on the reducing and common sense diet this week:D

    Sounds like a plan!

    I didn't get weighed either but as I currently can't face food - who knows! Today I have eaten a bowl of soup and 2 digestive biscuits! :D

    Hi all,

    I have spent £12 on Clinique eye make up remover, 50p on a twirl and 2.50 on a bag of fruit cremes from Thorntons and £1 on my lunch.

    Hope everyone is well xx

    I am hardly the best person to give advice in these circs but here goes...one thing I have been reminding myself is "it's not forever." I like fabby stuff. I am going to do this for 3 months to root out the things I can cope with not doing e.g. newspapers on a Sat, popping to supermarket midweek, snacks from newsagents etc. I can live without them for 3 months and see what I cannot manage with ( I think Sat paper and McDonalds trip will be restored immediately). But who knows. I have managed one week.

    The key is "it's not forever." Lots of things are habit. My Boots trips with vouchers are habit. I can avoid for 3 months by not reading Boots thread. I can avoid the snack machine at work by taking cheaper crisps with me. I can avoid bargain beds by reminding myself I can put the money in the house fund instead. I can avoid cappuccinos by having coffee with cream at home. ;)

    3 months is not that long. I deliberately avoided 6 months as although that will make a bigger difference I can't manage that long. 3 months is the mosrt I can manage, then I will take stock, see what I can't give up and see what I am still spending money on.

    If you don't like not eating chocolate, get chocolate. :j No point in depriving yourself. Just get enough for a few days so you don't go to the shops for more and end up spending £20 on other stuff (I always do that ). I cannot go to the shop for one thing. I have been making sure everything is at home so I don't need the shops.

    I am making a list of everything I miss. At the end of the 3 months I will be getting whatever I still want. I am trying to economise, not torture myself.:D

    Thanks for words of wisdom sarah & reassuring me that this is economising :rolleyes:.

    Take no notice of me, was just being a whiney brat :o have now brought my ball back to the playground for everyone to play with.

    The annoying / interesting thing is that I have been living in a 'deprived from treats' (well, clothes, shoes & mags anyway)state for weeks & was doing well & not missing them too much because I was 'treating' myself with food. For the last few days I was 'denying' myself the food & thereby starting to lose the weight ... but this apparently led me to feel I deserved treats in other areas hence the spending on clothes, mags etc. Grrrrrrr, I'm like one of those sausage balloons; can get all the air out of one bit quite easily ... then in just bulges out somewhere else :rolleyes:

    Your plan of writing down what you can /cant live without is excellent. I shall do the same but right now my feelings are that I can live without mags, alcohol & maybe even chocolate ... clothes & shoes I am really struggling with & the scary thing is I've already kinda decided that I will do the clothes challenge again next year &/or until I'm debt free. I would so much prefer just not to eat for a year :o

    I want to do this 3 month thing & I will :mad::D
