Hi All,
Spend for Thursday £2.54. Spend for Friday 50p. Spend for today so far 0.
Had a weird thing with my Abbey credit card. Automated balance last week was £4824. Statement that came in said £5058. Call Centre person just told me it's £4955. No flipping idea now, she said payment went through after statement was sent on 9th April, however I paid it on the 20th of March! I don't think their systems are accurate and will be keeping an eye on my statements.
They can't even set a direct debit up correctly.
In a grump today, want chocolate but can't afford it as get paid on Monday and have £4 in bank account. If I use my credit card £30 will end up on it. I NEED CHOCOLATE!!!!
God, I hate having to stay here with my dad. All he does is sit in that chair all day. I'm so fed up that I can't afford the equivalent of 2 mortgages so that I can move out. Fed up being skint. Fed up that I can't sell my flat. Fed up.0 -

Yeah, he's mobile, but he's able to get around. It just annoys me that he seems glued to it. I miss being able to go to my home and bang my front door closed and be on my own all day if I want to. I miss my flat. I wish it wasn't so far away so I could still live in it!
It's his home, I need to grin and bear it.
How is work today Yargo?0 -
Must be a nightmare pink twirl, like u say its his place but you must be desparate for a bit of "me" time. is there any nice parks or anything near you so you could take a walk and a book and just chill out?DEBT FREE - MARCH 2012 - NOW JUST THE MORTGAGE!

Well I've had a complete brain-wave for being all frugal and o/s and eco and have decided to make a pinafore dress for my niece out of a pair of my old jeans (I have quite a few old pairs and it seems so wrong to throw in the bin). I saw a patchwork denim pinafore in Next but it was £15 and that is too much to spend on a 20mth old who is growing like crazy.
However in order to achieve this I had to go to John Lewis to visit Haberdashery (I love that word so much - I asked for directions in store just so I had the chance to say it out loud.....:D) and buy a proper pair of dress making scissors, some chalk and poppers so have now spent £14 (??!!) Hmm, don't think this frugal lark really suits me????
I then visited their furniture department. If I want to go shopping but can't afford to spend anything I go to stores were everything lovely is way way too expensive. I mean there is every chance I might splash out £20 on a top but no way I'm going to drop £2200 on the most gorgeous sofa ever which would look amazing in my imaginary new flat!
I've also been reading the boots thread too much so visited two boots in order to hunt down bargains but wasn't overly successful.....
Pink - I feel for you, must be so annoying to be stuck in a house you don't want to be in when you have a lovely flat of your own. Much impressed at your low spend for past 3 days....wow! How did you get on at squash? Did you win??
Yargo - stick with it, you'll soon be home!! Do you have something nice planned for this evening?I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills

I just went to the gym for a game of squash.
I just miss living on my own. It's great on a Friday night to be able to strip off, have a shower, and have a gin and tonic in the scud whilst waiting for the cream on the legs to dry in! I could do it in my childhood bedroom, but couldn't leave it for the rest of the evening! Plus, my dad lives in a council flat, in not a great area, and I hate coming in/going out. The rest of the area is being demolished and it's just getting me down. Plus he hasn't changed much of the decor for 20-30 years, so shabby ain't the word. He likes it that way though, whenever I offered him money or help, he always turned it down, and that was back when I was living with the ex in his house, so I had about £1400 disposable income after bills every month. Now I have about £0 disposable!!!
I mean, I knew it might happen, that there was a chance I could end up bankrupt or on a much lower salary than the £31K I was on. I was so so unhappy where I was that I used to cry every night, I was so lonely it was unbelieveable. Just to get out of the house I ended up running up that £22K, going to Tesco about 4 nights a week, going to the gym, buying something out of Monsoon because I didn't want to go straight home after work to an empty flat. Maybe I should have stuck it out longer. Maybe I would have run up even more debt. I just know that I'm paying £650K mortgage and only getting £390, and paying out £250 for petrol, before it was £40 a month. So really, I'm no better off apart from having a better workplace (for now) and for having a little bit of a social life now that I didn't have before. I know can't believe I was stupid enough to jack in my job and leave my flat and move 500 miles, but maybe I wasn't thinking straight, maybe I was really unhappy and close to the edge. I think I was so maybe, is mental health better? I feel it's improved.
I miss my independence, coming and going as I please. Lying around in the scud. Music up loud singing at 2am.
Whinge whinge whinge. xx
Miss my nice flat0 -

Pink, I know you are in a carppy situation now but this last sentence is so important. Believe me your MH is everything! Although some things are bad at laeast you have a better workplace (where you spend soooo much time!) and that you have some social life.
If you are feeling an improvement in your MH then this is really great.
I have been in a bad workplace before and it was so awful and it impacted on me so much. All those tears in the car driving to work as I hated it so much and the fear setting in on Sunday night as I realised I had another week to get through.
Try and think of your current situation as a stepping stone, it isn't forever and you will find a way to get out of it and get back some of the good things you miss.
Is your dad's flat being demolished as well? Is he going to have to move?
Take care!I've got my own flat :j:j
