Sorry to hear you're stressing about work Buffy :grouphug:, try to think of it as something you have to do for the next 10/12 weeks in order to pay off a certain amount of debt. Make yourself a little chart for each day & mark off the amount of debt cleared by that day's earnings.

sarah, I really honestly truly believe that just eating less of the bad stuff & more of the good stuff works best. I cannot agree with that low carb & hight fat diet, apart from losing weight you want to be healthy too, well that's my mission. I am retraining myself, one biscuit with a coffee is perfectly acceptable, 2 is self indulgent & 3 + is bordering on greed. Allow yourself to earn one small treat a day. Learning when to stop is very hard. a glass of water before each meal will help to fill you up as will drinking plenty throughout the day. It only occurred to me yesterday that although I have no nicotine cravings anymore that I am still snacking or eating to compensate when feeling stressed, tired or emotional. It's that need satisfying again .

I think you are absolutely right to just focus on a couple of goals for now & weight & debt loss is a great place to start.

I know you're not a big fan of exercising for it's own sake but it will help speed up the weight loss so do try to walk at least 3 times a week & for toning, suppleness & stress relief you cant beat a bit of yoga, nothing fancy or trendy, just good old Barbara Curry :D. You will start to loosen up within a week just by doing 20 minutes of stretches every day. I now do mine after a bath in the eveing & it helps me to sleep better too.

    You can do this :A

It always seems so easy when you think about it but I just scoff everyting. I need to train myself to eat slowly and think.

Hmm. Question. I have via Pigsback ( Hate that mean site, love generous and lovely Quidco:A) a £20 voucher. Finally. So, do I spend it on books (1 of my 100 things is 10 free books am on 4 so far) or do I spend it on a highly rated gym ball which I will try to use?

Need to get the 55cm one due to midget stature, cheapest decent one via ratings was about £15.99 but would be free with voucher:confused:

A little bit of upbeat news here: my union subs have been refunded as I haven't been paid since September, so that's £125.55 that I wasn't expecting. Should buy enough paint and plaster to tart up the first floor sitting room, resulting in one room more being ready and one step closer to putting the house up for sale. If only I had the DIY gene...

I'm so glad you're sneaking pear drops. I loathe them, so I'm not at all envious. :p Sorry about the work worries though, Buffy. Perhaps you need one of those calendars where you can count down to freedom?

I am trying to go for the healthy eating, rather than calorie counting. I am trying to have 7 fruit/veg a day, rather than 5 a day, and drink 1.5 litres of water. This usually results in me being far too full to pig on anything nice, so avoiding the need for counting calories. So far I'm doing ok, although my mouth is a bit sore from so much fruit. Today I have had: orange and grapefruit, apple, pear, dried cranberries and cherries, red pepper, tomatoes and green beans, along with cereal, pasta and guacomole (oops, stealth avocado), tortilla chips, almonds and some chocolate. :D

yorkshire-lad - Hi & welcome  Good luck with the eBaying - hope we can encourage one another to get stuff listed, as I always find it a real pain.

If it wasn't for her Gold Status membership I would have to ban Hollyberry permanently from this thread.

I might reconsider if they count as one of my five a day... :D

To be honest sarah - I would even bother with the gym ball, the weather's perking up & I think you be far happier just going for a walk & seeing other humans in the fresh air. I also think that's going to perpetuate your spending demon.

hollyberry, yay to refunds :j & I love those dried cranberries, got some free in a bag of lettuce, not sure why they called them craisins though .

Eco - am so glad I watched that programme, it's made me realise that all the power to do this is mine alone :D hope the garden is doing all that it should, I'm desperate to have a cottage style but think it's just too big, plant seem to shrink when home from the garden centre

Too tired now to make much sense & also having severe pear drop envy so heading off to bed

    G'nite all
& best wishes for a happy friday

    Lula

They certainly do. 5 drops counts as your 5 a day. Can be substituted with sherbet lemons, cherry drops and toffee apples.
