Sarah, just checking but one bottle of wine a week IS a necessity isn't it...

I am going to try to cut down dramatically on wine as it is obviously contributing to my weight, but I imagine a bottle or two will fall into the essentials shopping basket. ;)

I went to Paperchase today but I din't find a notebook I fell in love with so I didn't get one, I have a couple of nice ones already but I think that rather than writing it down I will just post it on here. Also had a cappuccino as I won't be having one for a while icon9.gif

It's a voucher so I can't pay it off the debts, however, I don't want to polishing dust off it which is what happens with every other piece of equipment I have ever had:rolleyes: Will wait for a while, maybe see how I feel at half a stone down and whether I feel it would be worth it.

I meant seven pounds of my debt(aren't you technically debt free?). I nearly have a voucher on Piggys, I did a Simple promotion which should HOPEFULLY get me to 2000 points.
I wish you could put pigsback in to paypal, I'd rather have the cash.

must catch up on the rest of the thread xxxx

Right. The masterplan. I have decided that I am going to need a very strict plan as if there are any loopholes I will find them and pop through them. The key word is going to be frugality. I am going to stick to this plan for 3 months, 19th April-19th July.

I will stick it out and at the end and then I will see if there is anything I will keep doing or anything I will never suffer again. Have deliberately set the start for tomorrow as I want a spending diary from Paperchase and a visit to Starbucks first:D Old habits die hard;)

    The Plan.

I will remind myself it is only for 3 months and not forever.

No unnecessary spending. This means no scratchcards, magazines, newspapers, cappuccinos, take aways, snacks, Boots bargains, etc

No books. It is only for 3 months and I have enough here unread to keep me going.

No shoes or clothes. I don't need them.

No internet shopping. I just won't look.

Make a shopping list and stick to it. If I run out of something or I have forgotten it, I will have to wait until the next shopping trip. I will get the reduced stuff and freeze it.

Report back on here every time I spend anything.

Post on here about every little thing I do to reduce my debts.

No taxis. I will get the bus. *cries*

No toiletries except toothpaste and hairspray. I have enough of everything else.

Pay all my overtime pay into my savings.

I am going to challenge myself to see how much free stuff I can get during the next 3 months.

    Lose 15lbs.

I will declutter my wardrobe and toiletries drawer.

I will use cash for everything. No credit cards, no debit cards. Hopefully the pain of parting with cash will make me less inclined to do so. I will start with £100 in my purse and see how long it lasts.

I will try for as many NSDs as possible.

I will stop buying myself little treats whenever I go to the shops. I will think of a nice treat for the end of this instead. I will wait to see what I miss most before I choose it.

I am liking the plan Sarah very good!

I may think about doing something similar but start it after all this business at work is managable. - The first of May would be a good start date for me, give me some time to get back into being at work and handling things.

Oh and I gave up cabs for Lent. Good Luck on the bus honey xxxx

15 items I have listed on ebay have generated a grand total of £2.97 worth of interest so far...??? Almost glad I'm skint or I might have to go and get more wine to drown my sorrows:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Hey-ho thats £2.97 better than a big fat zero......... and I have JB to keep me warm tonight :j:j

    hello fabby friends

I have a sort of confession to make

I was very good with my grocery shop at tatco today but did slip some fripperies in; £2.62 on fragranced candles :o. that little slip up was closely followed by a rather naughty £18.13 in primarni.

I also spent another £9 in the bodyshop on a new lippie but that was on a gift card so doesnt count, phew :D

Food wise I have been very good though :

2 cups of coffee, 1 cup of tea, 1 bowl of cereal, 1 coleslaw sandwich, 2 apples & 2 slices of toast with marmite :A.

I'm viewing this as me having had my treat for this month & have decided that I will happily go without wine or chocolate until May 1st to compensate .

:naughty::D Now these are the sort of slip ups I have all the time and they are the ones I am trying to stop. When shopping today I saw a lovely cafetiere for £15, a flask for £5 and a bag for £15, had to walk away from them all, decided to go and think about it and go back if I wanted them, I decided I didn't and went home. It should be pointed out I already have perfectly nice and servicable examples of all those items at home, but they were bargains:rolleyes: I must remind myself it is only a bargain if I need it.

    Hmmmm,

I know I shouldnt have bought the candles but I really couldnt leave them there at 62p for 12 & they are the tapered dinner type which are actually the only variety I dont have, & I did have 5 empty candlesticks . I do however, have over 100 fragranced tealights that I have been stealth buying over the last few weeks :o

I must remember about things only being a bargain when I need them

As to the cheap clothes, I needed a little boost to keep the weight loss up & it has been over 4 months since I bought anything other than socks so :p:D. Anyway it's really M&S's fault , I tried to buy some black trousers in there this morning with my gift card ... but they didnt have the right size :naughty:.

Having a mere £80 now for the rest of the year is rather sobering so must carry on with diet & then I can get my summer clothes out of the trunk, I'm too scared at the moment as I know they wont fit :(

I have a feeling I am going to have a rather uncomfortable summer if I can't shift some of this weight. :o
