*crawls in clutching head, squinting & feeling rather ashamed after self pitying whinge*
Morning allfirst of all thanks for all the lovely supportive messages :A & :iloveyou: all
Gwen - it was your post about Plenty Of Freaks (true words spoken in jest) that encouraged me to head there - so it's all your fault. There are many many oddities there. I had messages asking when we should meet up before I had my pic on there from men with no pic's themselves so that should give you an idea of how there are some true desperadoes wanting grimy encounters
I also think that the most telling message I had was from a very sweet sounding professional musician it went something along the lines of " you're going to get bombarded on this site" which I took to mean that many of the women on there are a bit different from me.
To put your mind at rest Gwen I'm way past my late 20's (it's pronounced thirty nine ) so my criteria is for men between the ages of 40 -45. I originally put 35 - 45 but was told very firmly by DD1 (aged 20) that my toy boy days were not exactly succesful & it was time to meet a proper man & anyway she might fancy him if he was too young . And there I think, lies the truth; most men improve with age as regards their attitudes to women & relationships. By the time they're 40 they usually have a pretty good idea of what they want & who they are.
I am lucky in the respect that I know I definitely I do not want more children ( sarah & Buffy take note ... there are many that havent yet but still do & I keep coming across ones that i think would be almost good enough for you both & am noting details in my little pink book)
although a man with money sounds very appealing - to we poor debt ridden ladies in particular - I do ask myself what the downside to this is ...
I have just finsished reading the most fantastic book called 'Not married, not bothered' by Carol Clewlow which anyone is welcome to borrow - pm me & I will gladly send it - ( bought for 10p in local library sale so very MSE) & although I thought it would be a very lighthearted, self empowering & humourous read, which it is, at times it is so poignant & perceptive that I wondered if the author had been watching my life over the last 20 years -many many similarities which is quite comforting.
Back to the freaks ... I've now sifted through the reams of emails & have struck up a correspondence with a really really funny widower who just wants friends & the potential friday date. I say potential because although we had a conversation on the phone yesterday & could have chatted all day were it not for the fact that I had called him & have now gone way over my free calls allowance & am scared to receive next phone bill  I suspect that he has plenty of admirers & may not feel the need to meet up. We shall see & I shall of course keep you informed. All the time I have kept makeups mantra in the back of my mind 'NO FREAKIN DRAMA'.
Anyway, the point I'm trying to make is that men may come & go but it is you guys on here who really lift me up when I'm down & you are all so damn F fabulous that all I keep thinking of is Miranda who when asked why she's single says " I have absolutely no idea".

Hi
Loads to catch up on! First of all, what are MBT shoes?? The other girl sounds crazy, makeup, but good for you for not backing down.
MBT stands for masai barefoot technology. The theory is that the Masai walk in a very effective way which means that they spread their weight evenly over their feet which puts less pressure on joints and uses the bigger muscles more. The shoes have a curved sole so you kind of roll your foot as you walk.
I have found that my posture is automatically tons better when I'm wearing them which has to be a good thing.
The problem is, is that they are expensive - around £130. I saw some before Xmas for £80 but I had no spare cash at the time. So I was well chuffed to get these for a tenner.
If I get on well with them, I might get some more as the ones I have now are like sandals so would need trainer type for winter.
Lula - I've read that book recently too. Very interesting to read a book with that perspective but I did find her a bit insensitive at some points. I did enjoy it though!
And I think you should meet Mr Handsome to see if there is chemistry. And you should report back!I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills
And feed my interiors addiction0 -
Good luck with POF Lula, I'm sure the rest of the ladies trying it will find some suitable blokes soon enough, my friend Ann has about a dozen guys chasing her on there atm lol.
I have news but too tired atm... will tell all laterThe size of a glory hole in an open pit should not be greater than the cross-section of the haul trucks that dump into it. Otherwise, you are bound to lose a truck, sooner or later. Source: Sergio Cha

Hello all, am just back from Tescos:j Which wouldn't normally be a reason for celebration as I really don't like that shop but I took advantage of the wine/clubcard tip in the weekly email, where you got 25% off every six bottles and certain ones have 150 extra points. So I got 12 bottles:oreduced from £73.81 to £55.35, saved £18.46 and received 1855 points which are worth £74.20 in rewards:j:j:jI was going to use them to get a magazine subscription which would save me £60 but I have just checked and I can get it online for £38 plus quidco. Not sure what to do with them now, should have checked first really :doh:but I am sure I will think of something bargainous and I have 12 bottles of wine.
For today:- clubcard tokens worth £74.20
- coins in piggy
- store cupboard meals
- read papers online
- free coffee in work
- took snacks to work

My early success with multi-quote has not been replicated so I will simply say:
- TDQO - you tease!
- Sarah - yay to the wine. I looked at the email and contemplated going for it, then I remembered that at my current rate of consumption, that would last me about 6 years. (Sadly red, white and rose all give me a migraine now if I have more than a glass
)
- Lula - we are all keen to hear more of Mr Handsome/Mr Chatty...good luck!
I was only saved from some trousers in Next today by their superb customer service; I walked up to the till, the person in front of me finished paying for their purchase and without a word the woman at the till stalked off, giving me a rather disdainful look as she went. The trousers and I wandered off; them back to their rack, and me in high dudgeon. £25 saved.

:T:T:T well done you! I hate shop assistants like that, did similar myself recently (not in Next), you'd think being pleasant to folk would make for a nicer day...Mortgage OP 2025 £6000/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000

Not all the fellas on dating sites are wierdos though Lula. Some of them are genuine and shy and wouldn't stand a chance of meeting someone in their everyday life. My dad met his wife that way. She wouldn't have given him a second glance anywhere else but they've been married for over a decade.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500

Hiya, it took me ages to catch up on the posts, but I finally got there, been busy at work and not had tinternet on at home, been busy in the garden and did Pen-y-gent last Sunday so I have now done all the 3 peaks, time for a new challenge.
It is absolutly baking here, can't wait for the thunderstorms tomorrow, and we've found a new sweetshop round here that sells old fashioned sweets, so stocking up tonight on my way home from work.
Good luck with POF Lula I haven't been on any dating sites for a while, and I agree there are loads of cute guys who go fishing, which is one of the reasons I like walking on the canal.
And Hollyberry's post about rude shop assistants reminded me of a article I once read about the MD of Churchill b4 it was taken over by RBS, he was waiting at the checkout in a supermarket and the assistants were chatting away and not paying attention to the customers, so he tipped the trolley in the freezer cabinet and walked out.0 -
I knew I'd forget well done Skint on becoming debt free, can't wait for the day I'm motgage free so enjoy the freedom.0

Hi all, it's very quiet again today. Hope everyone has been enjoying the sun, it has been far too hot here today.
My shoes have arrived:j(both pairs:o) I got an extra pair for £20 to wear for work when I know I am going to be on my feet all day and don't want heels. My neighbour took the parcel in and she wasn't in for a couple of days, was beginning to worry I would bump into her and she would be avoiding eye contact and wearing fabulous shoes.
I have decided that I seriously hate my job. I was pootling along fine but now I have a new job in my sights I just can't wait to see if I get it. I do think I stand a good chance but the waiting is awful. In my head I already have it. I have the experience and the qualifications. I just want it now.I am feeling a lot more positive about things, having a job I enjoy and being able to save up much more quickly will make such a huge difference to me and I keep getting really excited just thinking about it:o.
Today:- £121.47 received from quidco:j
- quidco money moved to savings
- checked lottery and have won £10:D
- asked for some more overtime for this month
- NSD
- storecupboard meals
- litre of water and vitamins
- checked online banking
- checked quidco and pigsback
