Hello, sorry I've been quiet, have been pretty cusy since I got back to the UK. Just got back from Download festival, spent £460 in about 8 days!! Though £160 was my ticket and spent £80 on a hoody and 3 t-shirts so I have new clothes now :D The rest was alcohol, food and smokes :D

PinkTwirl, don't panic, you'll get it sorted over the next few weeks. As the others have said, it's just small steps.

Sarah: Well done on the weight loss :D

Gwen: SOA moment eh? Scary times!

    Hiya Everyone,
I posted yesterday at work but it somehow didn't work, so here goes, Pink I'm sure you said it would be tight with finishing your last job and starting your new one, maybe it's another LBM and this blip will help you focus on clearing the debt a bit faster.
I read the posts every day then when I log in to reply forget who posted, so I think it was makeup who said they'd got some fennel receipes could i have them? please all the seeds have come up and it's just finding space for them to go out in the next couple of weeks. I've had a strawberry tonight and it was delicious.
TDQ's very lucky to go to the Download festival, I'm carp at stuff like that, I forget tickets go on sale months ahead and then think it's been sprung on me.
Hello to Lucy it's good to have another newbie, off to catch up on other threads and I'll be back later.

I'm having a carp day... my ex decided she doesn't want to meet up with me so that's gone and messed up my head even more. Also my best female friend has been taken advantage of while she was in a very fragile emotional state and we've fallen out cus she thinks this guy is god's gift just because he was there for her, even though he cheated on his gf with her!
I have to go back down to Falmouth tomorrow to meet my landlord to sign a contract for next year... I have to pay for 2 months rent when I'm still in Oz cus it's a 12month contract :( More stress on my finances! Oh and I have had to re-activate my phone contract so that's another £45 a month to transfer back to the UK.

The only good thing is that I got a £365 tax rebate through the post so that has paid off the £160 I owed Natwest! Only another £500 to them and I can close the account!

Gwen I'm sure I remembered your getting one of those electricity monitors, I have one and there brilliant, the thing is if something costs a penny an hour to run, that's £83 a year, so it pays to turn stuff off, and I have gone round the house and turned stuff off just to watch it on the monitor, I am sad, but I'd rather spend £83 on clothes or days out.

    Hey guys,

just flying in to say hugs all round, Brilliant news on the car Bowski :j

To those suffering with money angst - take note of sarahs 'deal with things one at a time' plan, it works. If you think about the whole big picture it'll just scare the pants off you & overwhelm you.

As to shuffling & renegotiating cards - go for it. I've been stuck on a riduclous rate with CC1 for ever. Applied for & got a new 0% deal card - not enough limit to balance transfer though - but didnt tell CC1 that so threatend to leave unless they lowered my rate & they knocked 10% off which is saving me about £35 in interest every month :D

They werent interested in anything other than my payment history in order to do the deal either so I would highly recommend trying it out.

Gotta go now but just have to say that I 've lost 6lbs :j

    bye for now

    lula
    xx

Thankyou :A I have fallen out of love with my car at the moment though as the window is broken, well it's the motor so god knows how much it's going to cost  but the guy from the garage said to wait and he'll get one off the scrappy. But it falls down and I need to take the panel off the door and stick my hand in to push the window back up, resulting in me covered in bruises

Great news on the credit card, just goes to show if you don't ask then you don't get :T:T:T

Even better news about the 6lb, thats fabulous, well done!:T :T :T

I've just had some good news today that my Daughter is going to be a mascot at the rugby tomorrow night for our local team, and it's on Sky Sports. If i'm not the happiest person on the planet today then I don't know who is :D:D:D:D:D
Me and DD are sooooo lucky :D:D:D

What's this thing about the electricity monitors??
Eco, you're not sad atall, anyone would rather spend £83 on treats than electricity so good on ya!

Big hugs to everyone not having a good time at the mo, it means things can only get better!

TDQO...maybe it's time to start leaving the ex is the past, I know it hurts but it's got to be for the best if she's messing you about and it's getting to you. Hope you feel better soon. What was the highlight of your weekend at Download? I'd love to go.

I'll be back later, got to take DD to rugby. She is such a busy little bee at the moment, I can barely keep up!

Hi all, not much to report today. well done Lula on 6lbs:jBowskii, fab news about dd, how exciting:D TDQO, I agree wirh Bowskii, if the ex is causing you this much upset then it is best to avoid her complelely. Eco, that's really interesting, you would think a penny an hour was very cheap but £83 per year for several things really adds up. *makes mental note when she gets new house to never plug anything in ever.*

    So, for today:
    • coins in piggy
    • free coffee and toast in work
    • store cupboard meals
    • read papers online
    • litre of water and vitamins
    • food was coffee, toast, banana, sushi, yoghurt, fish and veg, mini hob nobs
    • checked nectar points
Think that's all, not great but it all adds up:D
