A quick question...I've had a quick look over my incomings and outgoings this morning. I seem to have just over 500 pounds left after mortgage, bills, savings, credit card payments etc to spend on food, petrol, clothes, hair, going out etc. This seems loads to me, so why do I never have any money? Does this seem like a reasonable amount? I really don't want to go back to having a spending diary as it was boring as hell, but maybe I need to.

You could try just using cash for a week, when you hand over your card for little things you tend to forget, but actually having to hand it over in cash does make you stop and think a bit more, eg I used to think nothing of putting a pair of trousers for £40 on the card, but it would really pain me to have to hand over the actual cash.

Not a bad day atall Sarah...well done!!! Especially on the dieting, I know how hard it is and you're doing great!

I do not understand the whole quidco thing one little bit. When I sign in it say's I have £50 but if I look with withdraw I could only get about £2 something, how annoying! I can't even be bothered with it anymore, I've never had any money of them yet and I don't buy much online anyways. Too much hassle for my liking.

I've had a rubbish diet day today but I have weighed myself and I've also lost 4lb, I just need to keep it off. I'm going to get straight back to the dieting tomorrow.

    Hello everybody

Feeling a bit brighter today. Got a few things done:

    1. Cancelled Egg card.
    2. Put meter readings online (dreading new DD, but while I am getting my head out of the sand I may aswell face this too).
    3. Returned bra's to M&S that I wasn't sure about and didn't fit very well*.
    4. Took lunch into work.
    5. Did some shredding.
    6. Checked online banking.
    7. Checked quidco - no change
    8. Called up A&L to ask them to refund the direct debit they took even though there is no balance on the card anymore.

*They wouldn't refund my 5 pound voucher, even though when I used it I asked an assistant and they said it would be refunded. I got in a bit of a strop with the woman today and stomped off in the end. My Mum said they did exacly the same thing to her though and she called up the store afterwards and they're sending her a 5 pound voucher. I will be doing the same tomorrow. If I'd have known it was non-refundable I would have tried on the bra's first or just bought some towels or something with it. Grrr

Hope everybody's having a good day. Thanks for all the tips and info on reducing my outgoings after bills. I'm currently mulling it all over. It seems it is a reasonably amount that I should be able to live on, so I need to figure out where it's going (on sweets and coffee's more than likely :o).

I'm so stressed out today. I just looked at my online statement and, being £500 short this month, just realised that my car insurance DD bounced :( I'm over the limit on one of my cards and have not been able to pay the other so that will also be over the limit now.

God I need to get paid soon, thank god it's next week. So down because my debts are strangling me, I'm never going to get out of this. :(

I don't think I can do this. £23K to pay off, then I need to get a new car (not new) and then I've got a lease to extend on my flat. I can't afford all of this and am struggling each month. I don't know what to do.

Hold on Pink. Like you said, you'll get paid next week and it'll get better then. You've had an expensive month.
