  • Help! Got home at 10.30 this morning after taking children to school, cat to vets, paid in some cheques, done some shopping etc and now that I've actually got a few hours to get on with some work what am I doing? Faffing and procrastinating!!! I need to do some work!!!

But it is lovely outside and there's so many things I could be doing in the garden... No, I'm going to get started, I really am, right now, off I go!

    Hello all,
I've been looking in reguarly, but haven't posted in a while.
The last week has been really frustrating. I lost broadband connection last tuesday and have only been reconnected today. Bt business braodband is a nightmare, it took 5 days for them to send out an engineer to confirm that the router was busted-I knew that!! Seriously wonder why I'm paying a hefty premium to use them , but not sure that there are ant "reliable":rolleyes:alternatives?
Anyhoo, catching up on a week's worth of emails and the work that goes with it.
Then need to catch up on my accounts... and VAT...
Hope to check in again soon.
Lost 38.5 lb with SW so far, 56LB to go!:A

    Here for my afternoon stint...
Horace - thanks for asking about my Daughter. She had a good day at school (she is 7) but had a rotten walk home because i kept talking to my son, which was mortifying for her as she needed my attention. And she now "hates" her brother. Girls! Can't wait for the hormones to kick in.

My son has his first sleep over on the weekend. He is 9 and only ever stays at his Nan's place. I feel sorry for the Mum as he has vowed to not go to sleep at all - the whole night!

Had some good news this morning - my insurance article employer has offerred me more money per article in return for slightly more research. Same length articles just more detail I guess. Thing is I usually discard half of what I research anyway so I don't think it will take me any longer. I will now be earning around £500 a month - which puts me just that little bit closer to the day i can quit the day job:)

I am really hot in my office - it is in the loft and has no windows and is really well insulated. it is the only place in the whole house we could get some space for me to work. Great in the winter but too hot right now. I need a fan. At least I am not put off by the glorious sun.
  • Hi all -

No glorious sun here, it's a bit grey so I've got no excuse! This AM I needed to shift money from the emergency reserve to the current account as the usual suspects haven't paid....GRRR!

And then listened to the budget, which I really do need to be on top of..

A job has just been advertised locally which I'm more than suitably qualified and experienced for - I'm considering putting in a CV (which will, as usual, be edited to highlight the relevant experience, especially as it's in an unusual market sector!) Maybe it's because the slow/non-payers are annoying me, maybe to see what I'm worth in the job market nowadays.

I don't know whether I'd give up the insecurity of self-employment though!

megs - your son probably won't sleep, he'll be having a midnight feast with his chum, anyway from what I can remember of midnight feasts you scoff and then fall asleep anyway. Just think that whilst he is on his sleepover - your daughter can have some special mummy time so she doesnt feel left out.

I have rung my lovely accountant (I have to say that because she is on here:D) and she is sending me some forms to fill in. I hate forms - I have had a look at the working tax credit form - its bloomin' complicated.

I read about the budget on the internet and rain curses down on Gordon Brown's head for saying that cars at least 10 years old can be sold and the lovely government will give you £2K - drat the man, my car is 9 years old:mad: Just when I was wanting to get a new car too.

I had my lunch in front of Neighbours (I know its terrible but I don't have to think for half an hour whilst it drifts over me:rotfl:). Best do some more work - more phone calls to make:rolleyes:
