Your cards sound brill Horace-hope you love them when you pick them up :-)
Exciting Purpleroses!!! bet you cant wait to hear-do you make fabric? or am I on completely the wrong track!
Has anyone had any experience with a company called AdvantageDigitalMedia? am looking for someone to print my flyers and they look pretty good, they have sent me a sample pack and the card is good quality and glossy. 500 A6 flyers colour double sided cost £95 inc vat and delivery. I was quoted £250 locally for one sided. I am not associated with this company at all btw just wanted anyones opinion.
Thought A6 would be a good size as it wont need to be folded to go through letter boxes, not too big to leave in wedding shops (A4 would take up too much space ) and still noticable enough to put on notice boards as long as its a bright design)
Also a customer at work (proper job lol) came in yesterday and I was chatting to her about my website, shes having one done as well, she makes wedding stationery so thats another link exchange..oooh networking..get me!!!lol0 -
Hello Everyone
Havnt been on here much this week & to be truthful havnt had a very productive week in the office, have done the bare minimum.
Problem is I thought he would be good if I good do a couple of housework jobs in the morning before coming in here but then I find more jobs to put office work off. So much to do at the moment what with the seedlings in the garden as well.
So basically I need to think of a different approach, if I come in here first thing I get loads done but then am behind with the house.
One thing I do know is that I am definately a morning person, late afternoons and evenings I am useless:rotfl:. Oh well need to have a rethink & get organised! Have to say though when I do get in the office the half hour thing works brilliantly.
Have an excuse today - DS is at home, have checked the online banking this morning and everything is ok there.
Will pop back in later.

Hello, All. Have just caught up on what you are all up to and there is some very exciting self-employment going on out there. Apart from quick peeks, I haven't been on here for nearly a week! During that time I have worked 33 hours in the shop, 21 hours at a client's doing bookkeeping, finished proofreading a book about real-life murderers and proofread another, very harrowing one, on organ retention, spent about 6 hours driving and about 2 minutes sleeping. It is good to have a full week - only one and a half days in my own office, though. Today I must:
tidy office for one-to-one lesson
check a page of web sites for a book I am proofing
turn a Word document into a three-part flyer for a client
half an hour of admin for shop
check bank accounts (I don't know why, all that red hurts my eyes)
give one-to-one lesson
take hound for walk
go be a shop girl
bookkeeping for shop
And still I am not leaving time to do my own bookkeeping. Got very stern phonecall from lady at the Revenue.:("Green pastures are before me,
Which yet I have not seen;"
I'd love to be a good example - instead, I am a horrible warning.0 -
Hello, Essex-girl. If you are a morning person, then I would definitely get and do your work first. You will feel so much better for getting it out of the way and it won't be hanging over you all morning."Green pastures are before me,
Which yet I have not seen;"
I'd love to be a good example - instead, I am a horrible warning.0 -
Wordsmith - you took the words right out of my mouth. I was about to say that Essex Girl should do her office work in the morning and then leave the afternoons free for housework.
I would love to proof-read things, mind you I just love reading:D
Well I had best go and get ready...dry hair get dressed maybe put some makeup on to go out (its only business cards but one just never knows who one might meet:rotfl:)
Have a good day all.0 -
Hi all sorry to have been so bad updating I have been finding lots of reasons not to put the effort in - maybe thats why business is so slow atm. Anyway yesterday I finished off my VAT (which is a major "put off" task for me) so thats off to my accountant today and I can either have a day off or not. I suspect an afternoon off is calling me which means if I crack on now I can get a couple of hours of proper[STRIKE] mse reading[/STRIKE][STRIKE] jeremy kyle watching[/STRIKE][STRIKE]dusting the office table[/STRIKE] work in:D:D
So this is the plan for now
[STRIKE]Clear all the emails I have kept as new to read later[/STRIKE]
Make 2 chicken calls
Compile my monday sales attack list
call one particular client who appears to be ignoring me
[STRIKE]update my linked in info[/STRIKE]
then for the rest of the day
[STRIKE]get some washing out[/STRIKE]
go buy some weedkiller for the lawn (god my life is racy!!)
post the VAT
pick up a pressy for a good friend (which means a visit to town)
buy a clock for the garden (dont ask:D)
So best get on hope you all have some success today:j0 -
Hi all - good to hear everyone's news. Thanks for all the birthday wishes btw. Essex girl I would definitely say do the office work first - if you're anything like me if you plan to spend the morning doing the house the list of tasks will stretch right into the afternoon. I'm a morning person too - especially at this time of year when its light early - but feel really tired by early evening. Obviously need to take my own advice though - so far I've done a pile of ironing, highlighted my hair (can't afford hairdressers at moment so hope the result is not too awful:eek:) and put washing and dishwasher on. Plus sorted children and got them to school of course. Sitting room floor is half covered with cards that need bagging and logging on spread sheet, got my books to do (very behind on that
) and tax return is lurking. Better get started!

Hi all
I have just been to town to pick up my lovely business cards - Laura who designed them for me was telling me how her colleagues thought they were fab:D I am glad I took a bag with me (free with piggypoints and its lairy pink:eek:) because instead of 500 I received 1000 because they were on BOGOF plus I also got a bit of a discount on top so I am well chuffed:D Hey I sound really sad getting excited over some business cards:rolleyes:
They have an offer on at the mo which may be useful to some folks on here - the offer ends on 30 June 09. The offer is 40% off A4 folded full colour leaflets 10,000 for £297 instead of £495 or 20,000 for £492 instead of £820 and they are usually 0% VAT (if you have a bit to write on then you will be charged VAT). So look at https://www.printing.com
Well I am off to make some calls.
Ciao
