Hi Muddy that is welcome news...more work and being on a list of recommended therapists.
I was networking this morning which was great as I met someone who imports beads which help support a sustainable income for people in third world countries - she makes bespoke wedding and MOB jewellery. The lady also has her finger in other pies which may be of use to me.
I found out too that the divorce seminars are not going to be held in the Midlands but are being held in London instead and therefore I havent got the business - hey ho such is life. Still I have networked with an international planner based in London (via 4N online) and we are going to meet for coffee when she is better and I also applied for a job as a freelance audio typist (it will keep me out of mischief and bring some pennies in) - I am not too bothered about this job because it means that I have to get my own transcription machine (or maybe I can hire one??).
Had an interesting time today as I had a meeting with someone that I have come to know via 4N who has had many businesses over the years and he likes to take time to talk to me and give me encouragement - he reckons that I am not doing too badly considering I started self employment properly at the very end of April last year.
Got the bus to the city centre and spent my £10 birthday gift card in Boots - had to contribute towards it though as I stocked up on Piz Buin allergy products. Then I ventured into selfridges - had lunch there and used the loo, then to M&S where I bought a shirt and a pair of sandals (they are as comfy as slippers) - wanted some shorts and I am not fat by any stretch of the imagination (am a size 14) but they were all awful and I told the assistants that they were defective (the shorts not the assistants) in that the crotch was too low - all I can say is if I was a man I would be speaking in a very high voice. These shorts were an extremely odd shape and no doubt made for gals who are like bits of string with knots in:eek: - I even tried larger sizes and the result was the same:eek::mad:
Saw a nutter on the bus too - this chap got on with a long black coat, white carnation button hole and a black stetson hat and he proceeded to yell at a person called Alex about a belly dancer who he did the night before, then he calmed down a bit and then started moaning to Alex about all his other friends that he has to have with him at all times:eek: One of these friends was George Harrison who proceeded to strum an air guitar and then another friend took over and he was an ace yoyo spinner and then after a while chopin appeared and started to play air piano. The the man got a pad out of his pocket and a pen and started writing lists about the people on the bus all the time mumbling to himself about Ulysses and various American statesmen long dead and when he spotted a sign saying Queen Elizabeth Hospital - he started shouting to Alex at the top of his voice that he did her as well and that the bus journey was hell and that he would rather be back on the boat. It was hard to know where to look to be honest with you and we all came to the conclusion that Alex was one of many of his persona (there were times when Alex answered). He was quite polite too as he doffed his hat when he got off the bus but still it was quite comical and the poor man was as mad as a box of frogs:eek:0 -
haha that sounds like quite a journey horace, at least you got some free entertainment.
Noahs loads better now thanks mudbath, he has a bit of a cough but at least he isnt blue, ive never been so frightened.
I was just about to try and find the thread and say how quiet it has been recently.
I had my first meeting with my councilor today, it was pretty good to be honest, he seemed really nice. I go back in 2 weeks and will have 6-8 sessions for the time being. I had to laugh though as he asked what the main reason of my problems was and i said father in law mother in law and sister in law wich he said was quite precise so asked why i felt that. The amount of times his eyes widened and rolled was hilarious, he either thought i needed to grow up or was in shock. At the end of the session he said there was alot of advice he wished he could give me regarding the situation but he couldnt professional wise. I thought that was quite funny, although am a little curious as to what he meant.
Only a few days now to my fayre and definatly not the week i needed a 3 day migraine as ive loads to do but im getting there. Got an email today asking for a raffle prize before the day wich im not sure ill manage now, but overall i think im ready just need to finish a few bits of and if i get chance make a few more bits. The trouble is i think of new designs when i go to bed, wich isnt helpfull. But at least i can make designs.
Hope everyone else is ok and just very busy hence the reason for the quiet boardback to comping in 2017, fingers crossed :beer:0 -
Maybe the counsellor was going to suggest you do something to the outlaws that isnt particularly pleasant...sorry I can't call them inlaws because of their abominable behaviour.
Good luck with the fair - as for thinking about designs at night - keep a pad and pen by the bed so that you can note something down and then go back to sleep. Maybe the migraine is caused by lack of sleep, too much chocolate, cheese, bananas or coffee?0 -
Ladies I know some of you make wedding bling, but do any of you make "normal" bling?
I need some pieces to go with my new clothes that hubby bought me at the weekend for my impending return to full time work next week
(luv him!)

i only do tiaras sorry, no matter how hard i try i cant get my head round jewellery. John on the other hand. hes just started but i can see him being great if he keeps it up.
Migraine is finally starting to stop thankfully, but been to doctors over this damn sore throat ears, tempreture and feeling sick and despite my neck being swelled so ou can see my glands she said its just viral, That doctor didnt get past viral in med school i think as if i take noah she says its viral go home, but other doctors will pick something up, didnt need to be told ill be better in 2 weeks with the fayre coming up.
i dont think it will be long before john snaps at his family now as hes constantly being told thats why i cant get my health right, and they are refusing to come and visit, almost like hes having to choose now. I feel for him most as hes just stuck with it all.
Horace you should get your card today or tomorrow hopefully, it has been posted though.
MrsT weres your new job?back to comping in 2017, fingers crossed :beer:0 -
MrsT - I have sent you a PM of someone who makes normal bling as opposed to wedding bling (although she does wedding bling too).
I will keep an eye on the post JP.
Re the outlaws - let John visit them by himself or he can take the kids if they want to see them (if not then don't force them to go) - just cut yourself off from them.0 -
HI Guys - been a busy week once again. Been getting all the end of month stuff done - still running behingd though. Thankgoodness i have the weekend i suppose.
Horace - i love the bloke n the bus. I am a regular on the buses around here and some of the characters are brilliant. Sometimes it is the drivers who are the mad ones though!
JP - sounds like you have had a bit of a time of it lately. Children can be such a worry. My son was off at camp last week and got hit in the face by a swing. So had the dentist this week to sort out his chipped tooth. Daughter had an absess on her tooth as well. So we have had nothing but dental issues this week.
otherwise i am still poodling along with my writing. I do feel the need for a bit of achange lately though. I could do with a new client or a new topic to get my head around. Insurance is getting boring and DIY is ok but only so much you can say really. I wouldn't mind some medical based articles or perhaps diet (as I am still struggling with mine!)
I hope everyone is ok. I am off for some lunch. I am starving which is quite normal for me lately. Not sure how much longer I can keep it up.0 -
wohoooo im going on a 5 week pampering thing for free thanks to surestart, im so excited i cant wait, should have me nice and relaxed for my holidays.
Sorry to hear about your sons accident nz, hope they are both feeling better now.back to comping in 2017, fingers crossed :beer:0 -
Sorry to hear about your son's cracked tooth and your daughter's abcess Megs - I hope they are now on the mend?
You jammy devil JP - I am slightly envious of your 5 week pampering - I havent been near the spa for a month now (cant see to get there plus when I could drive there I didnt want to risk driving down country lanes in the snow).
Thought about your wedding favours again after seeing something in the Lakeland catalogue. They are selling some white metal book marks with a dangly heart on the end - they made the comment that these items would make great wedding favours (although I cannot see anyone paying £9.99 for a wedding favour).0 -
lol i know i cant believe it, it wont be a full on thing i dont think as we only have a small room at surestart but just having something nice will be great.
Ive seen them wedding favours before and actually bought some bookmarks to make things with but i cant find them anywhere now. ill have to buy some more when ive done these fayres. Just replyed to a post on the turn £100 into £10000 board for someone who wants some cards.
Im also happy im starting to feel better, dont know what happened just cried to john about how bad i felt, went to get noah from nursery and on the way home started to feel abit better.
id book you in the pampering thing with me if you were over here horace lolback to comping in 2017, fingers crossed :beer:0
