It's snowing! YAY! Husband still in London... not so yay!
Apparently he's just left the office to come home but who knows if he'll make it home on the trains :(
I'm feeling pants anyway as had the Mirena fitted today which means I have period like cramps - bah humbug.
Oh well - at least I have chocolate ;)

Have loads of auctions ending tonight - not much money yet on them but hey - every little helps right? ;)
It's only old baby clothes that DD has outgrown so didn't expect much but hey it all helps *sigh*

Off to call Barclaycard who for some reason won't let me log in to my account grrrr

ETA - apparently no-one can get into the new Barclaycard accounts - won't be fixed till Jan... oh jolly good! Ah well - managed to do a balance transfer over the phone for 9 months at 0% for just under £5k :) every little helps as they say ;)

Hi all :-) Still haven't made the decision on whether I'm going back to work when my docs note runs out or not! Have registered with a couple of mystery shopping companies so hopefully will start that after Christmas am also still considering Betterware so perhaps with that and my business I could survive. trouble is I'm one of those people who like to know exactly how much I've got coming in each month or I worry.... perhaps not the best person to be self employed :-/
Horace you do mystery shopping don't you? any advice?

Thanks for asking Starx. Yeah we are fine. My husband went out to work yesterday and came home for lunch. By the time he went to drive back to work the snow was falling heavily. He went off thou and came back 20 mins later saying he was sliding so much that he felt safer turning around and coming back. Luckily he had most of his tools already at the house he is working on and he was able to walk there.
The local shop has run out of bread and milk and we can't drive to the supermarket. I might walk it tomorrow morning.
I spent this morning shovelling the snow from our front path. i was worried the postie might slip and sue me! it was about 10 cm thick.
The kids have been excited though and many snowmen have been built. Today it is quite sunny so hopefully it will melt before it freezes into ice.
Funnily enough my town was the worst in the south - don't know why exactly. I guess we are on a high point or something. It did catch everyone out tho as it was clear yesterday morning. Feel sorry for those in Scotland tho. But they are at least used to it.
I still need to do some xmas shopping so I will have to venture out at some point. Tomorrow...

It's rather snowy here! The roads on this estate are like ice so I'm going to phone the clients I have tomorrow and let them decide if they want to risk it or not. I'm only seeing two clients and their safety is more important.

I'm pretty ready for Christmas here. We did the food shopping last night because the snow is getting worse. I'd squirrelled away some money to pay for most of it so it didn't come out of DH's wage is good. I've also managed to get enough in my business account to pay my account, a course i'm doing next year and most of my NI for the year. That's a first!

I hope you all have a lovely Christmas and here's to us all having the best year yet in 2010. Thank you for all your support this year xxxx

We have a light dusting here - bah humbug! everywhere around us have snow apart from us! I WANT SNOW!

Hubby made it home - he went past High Wycombe on the train and said it was really bad there - I already knew that as my friends down there were facebooking from mobiles etc about where they were stuck lol

Just trying to decide if and how to get back home to Denmark with the munchkin in tow... Do we drive (ferry to france) across? Do I take the baby on the plane and let hubby drive or do we all get a plane... ARGH! Choices!

we have no snow (top of Scotland) boo!! its actually a really nice day if a little on the chilly side.

Just popped in to wish everyone a good festive holiday. Hope 2010 is a good one for everyone x
  • Star, be glad you weren't here - it was a complete nightmare!

All the buses stopped running, and the roads everwhere were completely gridlocked. Was crazy. Wasn't too bad for me, just walked home and didn't really take too long. Was only wearing pumps though, so was completely soaked through. BF went to the corner shop just before 11 last night, and the owner guy was telling him he'd just got back from Wokingham (to Reading) and the drive had taken him 6 hours:eek:
Glad everyone is ok and no-one got snowed under.
much work to be done - new sig coming soon...

  • Oh My Snow Snow Snow,,,,, hope it doesn't affect my flight to Cyprus on Boxing Day :-/ or my lovely all inclusive holiday will be a fish and chips home clean up week!!

Hope everyones been ok- went to Chest for a girly weekend on Saturday and the weather there was FAB! Sun shining down no snow (cold but hey we could get around) then on the way back on Sunday it was like we had driven into the twilight zone!! it was complete bedlam! Could litterally not see a thing on the M56 & M6! There are some silly a's's drivers on the road (mainly lorries) doing quite some speed I wonder why there were so mony crashes?

Mrs Tine be thankful you havent got Snow- it only turns to mush anyway and the whole town round here is bedlam ( My MD has been snowed in!! lol she's convinced she'll be eating pie and chips for Xmas dinner)

Anyway All have a great Xmas and heres to 2010!!!! Have a good one! xx

No snow in Co. Down just plently of v v v slippy ice. Have been on my rear end today - assisted by the bouncing of a dopey labrador.

Shop is very busy but well down on last year's takings, but thinking positive! I have finally got rid of the hire car (8 weeks after getting driven into) and got my own car back.

I have also written my christmas cards. I have not posted them. One thing at a time! The snow sounds lovely, everyone having fun and with the kids off school, it couldn't have come at a better time.

Hope everyone has the most glorious Christmas, being able to switch off from the stresses of self employment for a few days, and enjoy chill out time!

    T xx
