Hi all - we need snow here too..we had another dusting last night but its incredibly icy out there - I havent even bothered going out in the car.
Mabel - I do mystery shopping for aba research but they only pay £10 and won't pay for your shopping. I don't mystery shop for anyone else..basically because I am too lazy and can't be bothered to log on every day.
MrsT - get the plane to Denmark - don't drive or even consider letting your OH drive, the snow in Northern France is far worse than here and in fact Europe is having a pretty hard time of it.
TCM - I hope you're ok - silly bouncy dog making you go @rse over tit:eek:
Am coming down with a cold and my ex OH has a cold so I dont particularly want to visit as we both go to my parents and we won't be allowed to go if we're ill as I would be mortified if I passed anything onto dad and it finished him off.
I have been a bit busy but am a bit cross as the landlord's agent was supposed to be coming today to fix my fridge and he hasnt turned up:mad:, I have entered myself to win that award. I had a visitor yesterday from 4N (a kind chap who recorded my new voicemail message on my mobile) and I managed to persuade him to change some lightbulbs in my office for me - I gave him a bag of clarins stuff for his sister that I had received free. I also managed to frame the birthday card that my parents sent me.
Will be around tomorrow but not sure after that.
Happy Christmas one and all:D0 -
Hey all
Snow was dreadful in London the other day. My poor OH ended up having to walk back 5 miles on Mon night. Me, well I was already snuggled up at home but decided to walk across the road to pick up a pizza. Managed to fall over on the ice and have sprained my ankle, chipped a bone in my foot and am on crutches. Bloody bah humbug! Got so much running about to do today but am not very confident on the old crutches so everything feels like a bit of a mission. Had booked into the salon today for a back massage as a Christmas treat but not sure if the effort of getting there is going to outweigh the benefit?!
Taking a few days off now and planning on some proper R&R. Really hope everyone else is going to get a chance to chill out properly...

Hey ya Gang
TCM & Ally - Sorry to read about your falls, hope you both mend real soon - Hugs to you and all those feeling poorly at the moment ... :heartsmil
Mabel - I also do some MS, though like "H", not as much as I could be doing. Think I may up that a bit next year if I can weave it in with some of the other work I do.
I'm registered with loads (but some of them don't have either suitable assignments / much work in this area - either that or they all get snapped up very quickly) but one's I do regularly are GAP, TNS, GFK and RE. Have a look at the Up Your Income Board, there's a good thread on Mystery shopping there
Mrs T - I'd second "H's" advice, it wouldnt be worth the risk.
"H" - Hope the gremlins go away soon so you can visit your parents. When I read that bit about a very nice man ..... it reminded me of that old advert (AA I think ?) ... where everyone kept saying ... A very nice man, a very very very nice man .... et al - amazing sometimes what you dredge up from the memory :rotfl:
Megs - I wanted to ask you if you'd mind me picking your brains for some help and advice on a couple of things at some point ?
Well sounds like most of you guys are either winding down now or going away for the Festive Period... Think it may be a bit quiet on this thread for any of us poor souls still around :rotfl:
:rudolf::xmassmile Well, I wish everyone a VERY Happy Christmas, and All The Best of Luck for 2010.. :snow_laug:santa2:

Hi all
Hope you all have a great christmas..I am staying in, I have a lurgy (gippy tummy, bad headache and bad cough). I have a chicken crown and some frozen veg so I will be ok for one day but then I will need to get some different food and hopefully some mincepies (they will all be reduced:rotfl:).
Ally sorry to hear about your fall..I hope you feel better soon (staying in is better than going out especially in this weather).
:xmastree::xmassign::rudolf::snow_laug:santa2:0 -
Just popping in to say happy christmas to everyone, and a big thank you. I didn't realise just how important in my life this little thread has become. I count you all as friends and confidents, non judgemental, reliable and good people who work hard to make ends meet - thank you all for the help and laughs and boots up backside when needed!
I am having to go last minute shopping tonight and i am not looking forward to driving in such icy conditions. I have my silly sheep hat on today, swapped from time to time for a santa hat in the shop. My Saturday angel told me to have a lie in tomorrow and she would open up for me.
Ally, sorry to hear about your fall, and Horace, sorry to hear you're a bit under the weather. I recommend a nice fire, some mincepies, and the tv remote control!
If i don't get popping in tomorrow, i hope you all have a fantastic Christmas & Prosperous and stress free new year. Heres to Self Employment being the best thing ever in 2010 - its our year!!!

Hi all, don't post much on here as I'm a better lurker really....
Just wanted to wish everyone on the thread, especially nzmegs, a Merry Christmas and a prosperous new year. 2009 has been quite good to me as I nailed my dream job and moved to a lovely area but I'm still not satisfied and would now like to earn more money and get a nice girlfriend.
One thing at a time though and for now I'm concentrating on giving my kids a nice, family Christmas. Have a great one everyone!! :beer:0 -
Thanks Smartmart. Nice to have a special mention. I hope your sport writing is going ok.
Good luck on the nice girlfriend thing. But these things often happen when you least expect them. There is someone out there for everyone. Would be a good christmas present though!
Merry Christmas to everyone. I am sitting here doing the final article for the year. Yes I have left it very late and promised far too much. I braved the supermarket today which just about did me in. So I would love to be sipping wine right about now - but no...
In addition I have a rotten cold and probably should have stayed in bed - thank goodness for lemsip!
Just another 30mins or so to go then I can relax...0
