  • Hi Everyone...

The last 8 weeks has been manic for me - so sorry that I didn't get on here in time to wish you a Merry Christmas - but I do hope you had a good one.

I'm loving my new contract - but as I'm working from an office, and over the christmas period I'm so seeing the advantage of working from home.

So... with the new year (that I'm very very luck to be alive to see!) brings a New House | a Fantastic business | and a new healthier me!!

I wish you all a fantastic New Years Eve - thank you for being there for me during this year and here's to a very very successful 2010 for all of us!

    Take care

Hi all and a happy new year to everyone :-) the last week has been a bit odd-decided as I was still signed off from work that i would hand my notice in-took 3 weeks of decision making to come up with that. got to work and the boss refused to take it saying I should take some more time to decide !!!! arghhh now even more confused but on the bright side had a jewellery order from the wedding shop yeterday, only £30 but it was an order and I havent seen one of those for 3 months!

    Happy New Year everyone.

I had a very quiet time at Christmas although did pay a visit to ex hubby so he has had his presents but as he has been ill, I had a big fat zero:rolleyes: Not able to see parents either due to having the lurgy. Attended the eye hospital twice to get my pressures checked as I have had a bad headache for over a week but pressures are ok. I worked on Christmas Day and submitted an assignment to my tutor - she emailed me to say that she would mark it in the new year as she was on holiday.

Ventured out on Tuesday this week to go to the bank and get some shopping in - I came home with 2 boxes of Tesco Finest Mincepies, I pretend that I made them myself:rotfl: Have been trying to be busy catching up with things and networking (all online), oh and I have been playing bejewelled blitz on facebook:D Am looking forward to next week as I have a network breakfast on Tuesday followed by a meeting with a potential client (we may end up doing some business together as he gives business advice), I need to go to see the quack (re dizzy meds) and hopefully will be able to book a mystery shop too. need to pay for the advert in Hospitality & Events North as well (will write cheque today and post tomorrow), need to go to bank to pay money into business account (mystery shop earnings and £50 from £2 jar as my investment). Insurances now all sorted out and now have them both with Hiscox which has saved me a fortune.

I have been asked by someone on MSE about setting up a business selling bridal jewellery - I have no idea what to say to her to be honest especially as she has no stock - weddings leave me stone cold these days:rolleyes:

Well done Mabel on your sale - shame about your boss refusing your notice though, when you go back re-submit it if that is what you want.

    Hi all,

Well today has been my 'getting focused' day - although it is now 4pm :rotfl:and I've sat on the couch for most of it! - I wonder if 'thinking' counts???? ;)

Horace - handing in an assignment on christmas day so made me chuckle - really pleased that lots of things are taking off for you.

Moneymabel - well done on the order - you will get more. Make sure your web address is on everything that you send out (even to friends and family!!) and keep blogging / social networking / linking to other sites etc...

And.. if you really want to hand your notice in then do it! Although my circumstance was a little different to yours I was seriously ill earlier in the year and it changed my perspective on a lot of things - one of which was my job and I realised that it was not what I wanted - so I handed in my notice and never looked back. It has been tough but very rewarding - follow what you truly want!!

Can't believe that it's the first day of the new year, anyhoo best make those resolutions happen..

    xx

Ho Hum, hubby has just left to work out of town for a few days. This is very rare (us being apart) and I miss him already! The kids head back to school on Monday so it is going to be very quiet around the house.

But back to work on Monday for me too. I have had a lovely week doing nothing at all. But actually thinking that getting back into a routine will be good for me.

I have already been on a mega diet to get rid of the Christmas podge but still have a ways to go. My husband usually keeps an eye on me and with him gone the good intentions might just slip. I am hoping to prove to him that I can stick to something but already i am peckish!

    Resolutions for me: Just the usual - be a size 10 by my birthday......hmmm. But this year i am adding the following work related ones;

Make an effort to do my hair, brush my teeth, put on makeup etc even if I am not leaving the house.
Do my tax return straight after April 6th.
Up my earnings by 20% or more.
    DO NOT PROCRASTINATE!!!
If something will take less than 10 mins, then do it now.
    Keep better records.

I am sure there are plenty more, but these will do for now.

Happy new year to you all. May this year be the one where we all achieve our work related dreams and the personal ones too.

Thanks itsnowtime- I've been productive today and taken some photos for my website of a new set of jewellery I've made, just need to think of a name for the set and write descriptions etc.
As for the job I'm still confused. Sensible option would be to go back for 2 days a week as that would give me enough guaranteed money each month to cover bills- however I think it would soon be a case of, can you just work this Saturday, next Wednesday etc etc. I like the job itself- I just hate the boss, he's an arrogant bully with a Hitler complex ( short and ugly so has to make up for it by picking on his staff)
Good luck with the diet Megz and a happy new year to you :-)
