horace we had the house let through an agency that messed about and when they had complaints of her they didnt do anything, then they returned some of her bond and kept the rest supposedly to do the work but they fixed the wrong things. also got told that because there was an insurance claim going through and it wasnt done, because she never answered the door, she would win her bond back in court, so sacked the agent and have to do lots of painting over christmas. My mum and dad are going to help to and overdraft is already being used as i had a dentist appointment today and needed petrol, cant get anywere round here without a car. Feeling happier though things are getting sorted and im sure we will be ok just everything seems hard work at the moment.

Hope everyones in the christmas spirit and ready for next week, cant believe this time next week it will be christmas
back to comping in 2017, fingers crossed

Sorry to hear about the dodgy tenant though and the equally dodgy agent. I don't envy you spending the hols painting.

Mabel..I admit that I also misread TCM's post about welly warmers and thought she was selling something else..they would have to be awfully big for a stallion:eek::o

I didnt go to the hospital in the end..couldnt be bothered:rolleyes: I have shifted some furniture lifted the old rug, rolled it up (it is propped up in the hall until I have the energy to hoick it downstairs and into the bin), cleaned the floor and I have put my new rug down:cool: Still need to wrap presents and put them under the tree as well as shift junk off the sofa and bin it or put it in the recycle bag which is now rather full and rather heavy.

I am waiting for snow but don't want it to snow next Thursday when I am off to see parents.
  • Hi everyone not been on for a while as somehow I managed to unsubscribe to the thread so I just thought everyone took a holiday!! only to find hundreds of posts since my last post eeeek!!!

Am feeling a little down today, I love my job so much but I dont think I am getting enough support from family at home, I have 3 kids and am finding it hard to look after the family, look after the house do my job try to find time to do some marketing- nearly gave it up today actually- than thought NO.. why should I, I have really good customer retention so that must mean they like to deal with me, found out someone has been recommending me on a wedding forum and had a few enquiries through it, and this was meant to be a slow growing business untill the kids were at school.

So I have told everyone in the house they need to pull their weight- I am sure they just think it's a joke they dont seem to realise that i am infact doing 3 jobs!!!

Anyway Rant Over....... needed to get that off my chest.

Hope everyone has a good weekend and is looking forward to christmas x

Travellady - I felt the same as you until I decided that lifes too short. I chose what it is that grabs me work wise and just went for it. Yes it has meant slightly less money - but after just a couple of months things ar epicking up.

Perhaps you need to work out what is your priority. Obviously the kids come first - but a less stressed out Mum can only be good for them. I agree about the housework thing - but that has become my third priority after my job. I have two kids and they are at school so it is easier.

Do your kids go to a nursery at all? Just two hours in the monring twice a week can make all the difference.

You are obvioulsty good at your job and well liked - you can't buy that sort of goodwill, so don't give up as you may neever regain your reputation. (or your confidence).
Perhaps a cleaner might be an idea too. Just two hours a week could just cost £20 and it is amazing what can be achieved in that time. My husband would never let me do that now (I am home all day after all...) but when I was pregnant with my second I was very ill and we had someone in to help me (we could afford it at the time) and I have to say it was amazing. Such a help and made me feel so much better.

Send your irodning out as well for around £10 a basket.

think about how much money you earn in an hour and work out if it is cost effective for you to get some help around the house or with the kids.

Barring all that then the hubby is in for a rude awakening and needs to be roped in!
  • Thanks for that Mags, funny enough my OH did say about getting a cleaner in for a couple hours a week so may just do that! My 3 yr old goes to nursery every morning and full day mon and tue and my mum comes to look after the baby on Mon and tue so help is there its just all the other things round the house I dont really get any help with and whe hte OH comes home I feel bad if he has to start doing things- i suppose some tings just have to change in my head as well as other people attitudes.

We had a good chat yesterday as it happens and decided to have an actual rota of my "True" working hours - which will not change and what I have called " check in days" where I will check all emails/reply and do some admin but no actual enquiries unless is urgent.

I do feel a lot better about it and now just have to do a houshold chores rota, dusting and hoovering done by eldest daughter (12) she at the moment does nothing but things are going to change if she wants nice holidays and Helly Hansen jackets etc!! lol.
Never thought about sending ironing out though what a fabbo idea! ( I could ask them to recomend me to their regulars too!! hehehe.

    Cheers again
    x

    Hi all

Its freezing here - or should I say its below freezing:rolleyes: 2 bags of rubbish now in bin, rug was hoicked down and tossed caber-like into the bin, the huge bag of paper, boxes etc has been lugged down to the paper bin and deposited. Have decided to keep the waterford crystal pin tray for myself as I cannot bear to part with it:rolleyes:

Travellady - you need to post more on the 4N forum - Clare Flint is an independent travel bod and she gets a fair bit of business from 4N users. As for the housework - DD can do the dusting, hoovering and washing up in exchange for pocket money. Its not easy being self employed when you don't get any support - I was frequently told to get myself a proper job by small minded jealous people who whinge about their jobs and how they want to be self employed but havent got the sense they were born with to take the plunge:rolleyes:

Need to do some form filling today and its lunchtime so need food..might catch you later when I have warmed up a bit (am sitting in the office without heating as too bone idle to put the heater on).

We hada big clean up day yesterday - had visitors coming so perfect excuse. Husband did the bathroom while I did the rest of the house. To be fair though he repainted the ceiling, replaced the light fixtures and scrubbed clean the grout. It looks nice and shiny now.

I am super busy for the next three days with work and still have some xmas shopping to do - scary. I amstressing over getting it all done but looking forward to a full week off. Will still need to check emails daily but i can handle that.

Hope every one is well and coping with the snow.
