That would be great thanks! My webdesigner has a free voucher for adwords so might get her to try that.

hi all can i join your group please? I am self employed working from home making tiaras wedding favours and a few other unusual wedding bits as well as doing some seasonal stuff at certain points just to bulk up business.
My motivation to be self employed was after having my little boy, my husband is in the RAF and i wanted something i could do around is job and not have to palm my children of all the time if hes way for 4 months. that christmas i made baskets for everyone for christmas and everyone said i should make them for a living, then when i registered as self employed i got pregnant with my daughter so didnt do anythng.
Just after having evie while getting smp i did a tiara making course and thats where i settled on my wedding things, but just as i was about to go live 3 weeks ago i was in a bad car crash and now cant get that bit going hopefully in a few weeks though ill be able do do intricate things again.
So now ive got 3 christmas fairs booked doing my seasonal stuff, (mainly ideas from this site) and im really looking forward to them, its great as my husband can help me set up and then take the kids to see santa why i work. I'm really excited about acctually starting to do things.
I made all the favours for my brothers wedding a month ago wich went down really well and gave me the confidence i need to do things.
I think thats about it lol so do i pass the test for the group? be nice speakoing to people doing the same things.
back to comping in 2017, fingers crossed

I make wedding jewellery- if you click on my username ' view homepage' will come up, click on that and there you are! Not allowed to post a link in the thread. I'd love to see your tiaras- I make just Alice bands, not planning on venturing into tiaras, I leave that to the experts like yourself !

If you can make tiaras you could do jewellery easily! Balloon decorating sounds like fun. Horace ( who is a regular poster on here but is on hol at the moment) is a wedding planner and has loads of good advice about wedding businesses- I'm sure she'll pop up soon!

i find the tiaras easy its just twisting wire into how you want it to go, seem to be alot more involved with jewelery, be good to talk to horace as well then,

  • Lexxi, I have a free Alliance and Leicester business account. But it is an online only account, you can pay and take money out of a branch or post office but they can't give you any help or do anything else unless you phone them. This was OK until I got married and changing my name was a nightmare. Apart from that they have been pretty good.

I've been so busy the last couple of days trying to get my chocolate business off the ground. I need to start paying off some of this money!!

What happened was, 2 years ago, we remortgaged our house to include our loan of £15,000. We were all sorted and able to live comfortably. Then 2 months later my youngest daughter became ill and I had to leave work to look after her. I was off work for a year and a half and we suffered seriously financially. Then in December last year my husband got made redundant. Luckily after Christmas he found another job but it was half the wage. This prompted me back into work but I work part time, 3 days a week, so I can look after the kids.

This was on top of us getting married in May this year and having it booked for ages, along with the honeymoon to Florida (but most of that was paid for by my mam).

It is so difficult with me working as finding babysitters day to day is a nightmare and I only work till half 4 and the kids are in school all day, but don't even ask about school holidays!!

Whilst I was off work with my daughter I took up a hobby of learning to design websites and SEO which led to me setting up my website. As the visitors started increasing I put a few adverts on. When I went back to work it kind of took off and started earning me a bit of money. Now as Im in work, though, I haven't the time to really work on it (a links page is in the pipeline moneymabel!!) and it's only making me a month what I would be able to live on for a week.

So it's on to my new venture Chocolate! I figured if I sell something myself instead of relying on advertsisers I may make more money. But with the chocolate coming in on Monday we will see.

I can't beleive how much you guys chat. Theres loads of pages since I logged in last. But you are all so friendly!!

Anyway I'll stop moaning now as I'm off to bed.

    Nite!
