Hey Guys n Gals,
Just checking in.... no Hols here either
The company I was temping at recently, contacted the Agency and asked if I would be happy working there again & was I available for three weeks part time work ....... ummmmmmmm yeah!!So I'm back there again for the next three weeks, plus also got some audit bookings to complete over the next couple of weeks.
I did my first batch of bookings for the new company - they seemed to go well, and I've got a couple of rongoing weekly & fortnightly merchandising bookings to do for them now as well
In between times, I've been trying to get my "mailing list" prepared, and my two leaflet designs (different work aspects) drafted ready for doing the drops.
I've also made a start on my batch cooking for the freezer & my menu planning - putting sessions into the diary as part of my work schedule.... thought it made sense as it is a form of work  Been loads of blackberries around here, so that kinda started me off ... been doing some picking ... free food n all that
Congrats on the A+ Horace  and hope him that arrives like scotch mist, has indeed taken you to dinner :rotfl:
And also to MM on your 2nd Websale :T
Hope everyone else is doing ok - and welcome to all the newbies

Hi GH that's good news about the agency work- well done!
It's actually my 3rd websale ( forgot to mention the last one!) am taking over the world lol0 -
Oh, a holiday.... sorry, was dreaming there...
I took Monday and Tuesday off as it was either that or end up at the bottom of a lake with a brick round my neck - am ok now though, I get blips like that every now and again when i let things build up. The OH has turned out to be a kind man afterall and took me to a big outdoor fare thing on monday for the day and we had a picnic with us and a nice wander round. My blip this time was that i am struggling to cope with the self employment and everything being my responsibility. I'm scared to take on staff incase i can't pay them, i have bills to pay before the end of the month and it has been so so quiet the past week that I am worried I cannot pay them. If i don't pay them, my account goes on hold and I cannot get stock, if I can't get stock I have nothing to sell, if I have nothing to sell, customers will not come in etc etc.
Anyway - Purpleroses, I hope you have a really fab trip and i can't wait to hear all about it when you get back and Mabel, I am so excited that you are an international brand now!
Horace, the not cooking is a good thing, especially when someone else washes the dishes too!
Oh, forgot to say, my Jack Russell, who should have been dead 4 years ago from eating through an electric wire (thankfully I worked for a vet!) had her first litter of puppies on Monday night. They are extremly cute!
Hope everyone well,
T xx0 -
Awwww puppies!!!! (loses the plot and goes all wibbly :-).....)
Anyhoooo, glad you're feeling better TCM sounds like the days off did you good.0 -
Aww TCM - congrats on the puppies and well done on the days off. Sometimes you just have to take time out for your own wellbeing!
I am having an unproductive day which is not like me. Am in a clients helping go through 3 months worth of accounts (not easy with 2 UK bank accounts, staff expenses, a US bank account and 4 credit cards to consolidate) and I feel like an accountant which is not really what I signed up for.
Thinking seeing as I am not getting anywhere I might take myself out for a wander, take the books home and do it when I am slightly more focused, totally getting stuck in a rut hence reading this thread instead of working but guessing we all have days like that! (please tell me its not just me) :rotfl:0 -
Well done Mabel - now venturing to foreign lands:D Greyhound well done on your temp job too.
TCM it sounds as though a couple of days off did the trick - lake water isnt very nice and tastes like duck poo:eek: A part timer may be what you need - you can choose their hours and they dont have to work the whole week if you don't want them to. I am sure everything will work out - congrats on the pooches too.
I did get taken out but was dragged out before I had finished my drink:mad: I didnt appreciate having stinky socks thrown at me when we got home either and first thing this morning he was up and hogged my computer until 11am:mad: I have told him that in future he can go and stay in a hotel as I don't want him staying with me - I guess I have grown out of him and like my own space too much:D
I haven't had much of a productive day although I did manage to ring the doctors and now I have an appointment with Sister Helen on Thursday morning (oh heck, its tomorrow:eek:). I had the results of my smear test too and it was normal:j
Things to do: get contents insurance quote from greenbee, look up train prices from Bham to Leeds and Leeds to Harrogate for the BBEH trade fair next month, I shall have to see if I can get some overnight accommodation too (that is if I can afford it). I need to read up chapter 3 of my course work and sort out assignment 3 - I have a vague idea of what I plan to do but I havent got the words straight in my head yet. Oh and I need to update my blog.
Have a good day all despite the flippin' awful weather we have today:rolleyes:0 -
Hi All
After my previous thread on business bad debt - further update.
Just had a call from County Court Baliffs, to tell me that they have gained access to the premises to find out that the hairdressing business has ceased trading, packed up and gone leaving other debts.
All fixtures and fittings gone.
Baliff said as the warrant was to be served on the business that is no longer trading then that is it.
As the business was not a limited company, if I wanted to go after the proprietor personally I would have to start the process again.
Is it worth my while chasing this person any further?
For me, its now a matter of principle, I think this person had no intention of paying for my goods and services from the outset and set out to rip me off, so I want to make their life as difficult as I can within the the law!!!

Thanks guys!!!! Thats why i love this thread, I'm not judged for having a blip..... the puppies are sooooooooo cute, i was a bit unsure about breeding from her as she was so ill, but this will be her one and only litter.
Mike, i am sorry to hear of your predicament and don't know what to say to you. I would have thought that there would have been a way to get money out of these crettins yet the law seems to be saying "aw shucks, too bad". Have you taken legal advice?
I think too Horace you should kick the smelly sock man to the kerb as you are way too good for him. Is this the same creature who said the horrid things about your business? Two fingers up to him time me thinks.
Ruts are a bummer Ally, however this thread is "business". It helps me along the way when I'm off on one.
Have had a good day thanks to one HUGE sale and it means now with the money from it, I can pay 2 or maybe 3 big suppliers in one go then keep my stock levels lower when I'm topping up. Happy days.
Thanks for all your words of support - it means alot

Morning all!
It never rains but it pours...... am debating about growing webbed feet as I might be able to swim into town better than drive with all of the floods there is!
I had a horrible person in this morning to collect money that I had already paid and thankfully had a receipt for and I phoned the company that he works for and complained and closed the account with them on the back of the rudeness. We never really got alot of things off them but if I spoke to customers like that I would have no business! Grrrrrr. However, it did feel good saying "I think I would like you to leave my premises and please do not ever set foot in here again".
On a mission today to try and get alot of work cleared up
Have a good day everyone
