  • Hi to all again
Not been on for a while but I've just read through the last few pages and again am staggered by the great advice and input on here - you guys (esp our Horace!) are wonders!

I might join FSB myself, I am just toying with really getting my business of the ground rather than playing at it.

Mudbath, I think your decision re work and child care was great. Only this morning I had to go off for a 1.5 hour appointment and left the 13year old in charge. I think people are right, we used to get more responsibility as children and I think it did us good.

Isn't it funny that I've devoured Theo Paphitis, James Caan and Duncan Bs books - I think I even bought the Richard Moreleigh(no longer a dragon) one, but never bought DMs?? I haven't meant to discount her, and as a female myself am not purposely assuming she knows less than the guys. James Caan comed across lovely, and Theo too.

    Good luck all:D

Horace, having a bit of horsey knowledge would do no harm but not essential - I have spent this morning trying to word it and am not getting very far.

DM's book I could not rave about enough - I took work for a pittance of the minimum wage (what wage sometimes!) but she had said one thing that really struck me about stock levels and a recession and she has hit the nail bang on the head for what I have done - my business got into a bit of a financial mess just over a year ago because of being over stocked - this was when the OH was running it and I was still working. I seen we didn't need to carry huge volumes and could top up little and often, pay on time and still offer a good service and thankfully now it is coming back to where it should be. Not easy though. I am also ringing round people about web designs and I have decided I am not superwoman and cannot do everything myself hence the recruitment ad. Thank you Horace for recommending the book - any others you could recommend?

Well done on the assignment as well! And well done too to Mudbath and Mabel - can't raise a glass to you just yet, so I will raise my Pot Noodle instead!

No other books as yet TCM - unless you want some for event management:rotfl:

I have Duncan Bannatyne's book but have read 3 chapters and never picked it up again - the man irritates the hell out of me, mind you he hasnt done badly for a crook:rolleyes:

I am feeling mightily peeved this afternoon - Midlands Focus have contacted me yet again, this is the 12th time I have said no and the 12th time I have asked them never to call me again, they insist on calling me almost once a week asking me to advertise in their poxy rag which has never been seen and they are unable to send a copy:rolleyes: Who do i complain to about their persistent harassment?:mad:

Midlands Focus are a poxy free newspaper - anyway I have emailed them so hopefully they will stop harassing me otherwise I will report them:j

Just had a look at your new 'old' car and it looks fab.

For those looking for cheapo office furniture - it seems that Lidl will be selling 6 drawer filing cabinets on 27 August for £29.99 (well I think that's what the ad said or it could be £14.99 - I can't remember which:rolleyes:). It looks like I might be getting one as I will have a visitor stopping again on Wednesday and Thursday, the last time he stayed I got a ton of food:cool:

Horace - well done on your A+. It's good to get the feedback or you don't know where you can improve...i'm guessing you can't improve much though!!!

I'm off on my hols tomorrow - stripey dog is coming too so it'll be lots and lots and lots of working. When I get back i've decided i'm going to start being healthier. I think people expect it with my line of work so it's time to put it into practise. Hopefully i'll get a kick start swimming in the sea and exhausing stripes!

Hope you all have a good week xx

    Enjoy your holidays Mudbath

I would have been surprised not to have had an A+ as the first assignment is all about me, the second assignment is all about me as well and my organisational skills so am hoping for an A+ there too - in fact I want A+ for every single assignment:cool:
