>So... If I grab an iPhone either PAYG or off eBay - can I use this sim in it?<
Yes, I use my contract O2 SIM with web bolt-on in my PAYG iPhone no problem, but you don't get visual voicemail. And you need to input the PAYG SIM number to register for your 12 months free wi-fi with OpenZone/The Cloud as O2 pass them the number. No need for an unlock/jailbreak so long as you have an O2 SIM.0 -
i dont think there is a nano phone coming out, and would people stop confusing it with the update, they are updating the software! not the iphone hardware. Why would they do both? more sales if they just did the hardware.0

Strange,i have had four iphones,i have also unlocked a few for friends and out of them all none would work with an o2 sim unless the phone had previously been activated with that specific sim.

curriej99 - WAP technology is very outdated now and won't give you the same as web access - or at least, won't allow an iPhone to get the most out of its internet connection.
Even if it could, I don't know why you'd settle for £27 per month when you can get a 1-month O2 Simplicity sim card with 600 mins + 1200 texts + unlimited web usage bolt-on for £19.58 per month (http://shop.o2.co.uk/sim-only-simplicity - see 3rd tariff down). So you get the same minutes, more than twice as many texts and you can dump the contract at a month's notice any time. Also, if you're already in an O2 contract you're in a v strong position to negotiate something even better than that because they don't want to lose your custom.0 -

Of course they're only rumours so we'll have to wait & see.0 -

I dont think you are that up to date. There are some quite strong rumours from the supply chains for Apple.0 -
it would'nt make business sense, if they were making a successor to the iphone, why would the bother updating the software at the same time for the older phones? that would discourage people from buying the newer version. By nano i assume they are making it smaller, whats the point? it would make the touchscreen keyboard much harder to use.
There are only rumours. People make them up all the time, especially competitors.
Also what could they possibly improve?0 -
There are rumors if an 10" Hybrid version of an iTouch / iPhone and Tablet Apple PC. Apple's suppliers have been getting orders of 10" touch screens with the same type of spec as the screens in iPhones. They will probably announce the new device late in the year.
That would be an apple device i'd actually have to think about buying!Laters

Thanks Snooky I was totally unaware of this. Not only that, but some dodo in customer services told me the cheapest tariff for an iphone was £35/month! Talk about getting your facts wrong. Will now source an iphone and harass customer services to get my deal down...
Any suggestions appreciated for getting a deal on an iphone. Jim has suggested Gumtree - guess i'll start there....
