    If you're transferring music videos, you need to put them into the 'video' folder rather than the music folder.

    audio -> .mp3, .ogg, .wma
    video -> .avi, .mpg, .vob, .dat
    photo -> .jpg

    If this doesn't work, whats the extension of the files? Is it one of the above?

  • I think that generally most music videos will have come from websites on the edge of legality, but you could create your own file by recording from the music channels onto a recordable DVD, then making a smaller file using something like PSP Video 9 after copying the file to the PC.

    For example, someone has ripped this advert for a madonna video from ITV2. This should play on your player if you copy it to the video folder.
    (Its 5mb, but this is very small for broadband)

  • I was going to buy one of these, but could anyone tell me if it allows you to fast forward and rewind audio files as my present mp3 player does not allow me to do this.

    Thanks

    as i said we had no bother transfering the music video we did it thru wmp 10 they went straight into the 'video file', its just the music files that didnt go straight into 'music file' we can only find them by going via browswer (whcich cant be right)

    I picked up 2 today for presents - York.

    No price on item, and all the usual problem of telling me there were no leads or case included - thank goodness for this site!!

    Then took 20 mins to find leads and case - i wasn't offered the warranty, can you go back and claim?
    How much ?????????!!!

    Thanks to OP, picked one up today from dixons in Bromley, they still had at least 15 on display marked at £49.99, although all of the cases/leads were in the warehouse??!! When i asked the checkout girl for them she sent a lad to get them and he came out with a basket full! So bromley definetly have plenty of all bits!

    Just been having a play and it seems like a quite good bit of kit, nothing fancy but for the price cant be beaten!

    YOU CAN MAKE A PLAYLIST (sort of!)

    I am no computer king, but started thinking "What if?" and came up with this:

    Plug it into your computer.

    When it shows up as an external drive (and why does this sometimes happen instantly, and sometimes takes 5 minutes?) click on it, then click on Audio to open the Audio (Music) folder

    Click on "File" at the top of the screen

    Click "New" then "Folder" and name a folder within the Audio folder whatever you want your playlist to be called.

    Drag and drop the songs into the new folder!

    When you next switch it on, it is there ready to play!

    Anyone know how to make the new folder appear at the top of the list rather than the bottom please?

    Just make sure the directory starts with an A or AA so should thenbe at the top. Normally, I would expect to prefix the directory with a number but on mine the directory listing is alpha characters first and then numeric. I must admit I haven't opened the manual yet so there may be a means to change this. Couldn't see anything in setup though.

    I didn't get the case from Currys so will call them this morning to see if they have them
