Hi everyone,
I haven't been around much lately but still look in from time to time.
smoky, I'm thinking of you and your little ones today too...I hope you manage to get through the day without too many tears.
Aussie, Funnily enough ds2 mentioned you last night at dinner (and even remembered your name) asking if it was last year you were here.Considering it was two years ago, I think you made a big impression on him!
Snowy, If you're coming up to Ikea, give me a shout as I have the same vouchers and need to get a few bits and pieces.
Mioliere, good luck with the move! I'm sure everything will work out well.
Happy Birthday snoozer and belated birthday wishes to tru/troo/watsername.:bdaycake::bdaycake:
It's a quiet St Pat's day here. Ds1 is off school but going to the school's cup rugby final later. Tea tonight is something with mince that I've fished out of the freezer....not sure what I'll do with it yet. Hoping to have a potter in the garden this afternoon, then I'm out to work this evening.

Ivy I can never believe those ads.  Tho I am not a Mother myself what a gift like that says to me is Happy Mother's Day Mum you wrinkled old bag! I mean admittedly if my offspring was to give me a £75 jar of Creme De Mer or something maybe but a £10 pot of Oil of Ulay (sorry can't bring myself to say OLAY. I hate pointless name changes)no TA. Besides I won't use L'oreal as they test on animals anyway. That's why I can no longer use the Body Shop as they took them over.
Hi Reverbie,
I don't normally fall for those ads myself and would probably feel insulted too if anyone bought me this as a gift but I have tried the 30 second wrinkle cream (courtesy of a freebie on mse) and it is wonderful stuff. So anyone thinking of buying it for themselves.....it worked for me.

Morning OS friends!
Happy St Patricks Day everyone!
Smokey - thinking of you and the children hon xxx
Stefejb - He sounds almost too good to be true!! Seriously though I am so happy it went well, that is great news!
Reverbe - I think we have all given our advice about your OH, so I won't repeat myself, but I am so sorry you are still so down about it. All I can say is that any action is better than none, and if you do SOMETHING about seeing/talking/communicating with them then you will feel better.
wmf - sounds like a fun weekend!
Happy anniversary Donny
KE7285 - Have fun planning your garden
PenPin - Hope you feel a bit better today.
My OH was asking about soap nuts the other day. I said you could buy them on Lakeland, but that was about all I knew. Do many of you use them? Do they really clean your washing, I mean all the difficult stuff like blood etc? Any experience of them would really help thanks.
We managed to get all the candle wax out of Treacle. She fell asleep on me and we found some sharp scissors and I cut it all out. She now looks like she is recovering from an op with a paler patch where her top fur has been cut off:rotfl: She seems none the worse for wear thank goodness.
Well the optician came and I spent an obscene amount of money on glasses, despite getting a discount due to being on benefits. They are rather nice though and my OH is happy that I will now have two pairs of glasses and he doesn't have to keep carrying mine through from the bedroom to the living room all the time! (I need them for watching TV, it's distance that is my problem!)
Weather is fabulous again so the washing is out on the line and the BM smells just about done. Dinner tonight will be sausage mash and beans I think - I have no inspiration at all.
I hope everyone has a great day today.
Warm gentle hugs to those who need them.Be good to yourself today.

DH hung out two loads of washing on the line outside and I made him a brunch of sausages, eggs and Polish beans with bacon bits.
He is working from home today so quite happy upstairs while I potter about on here.
Might make pizza tonight so that DD(15 ) can have some to take for lunches later this week. She is getting fed up with salad tortillas!!!;)
She reckoned the pasta last night was "lush" - did not tell her all I did was saute chopped peppers , onions and frozen peas in garlic infused oil for about ten minutes, then add cooked pasta twists and instant cheese sauce and let it mingle - added a bit of grated cheese on top as well and some black pepper.
She coaxed me into making cinnamon toast last night as a pre bedtime snack
and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Might investigate the local charity shop later and have a walk in the sunshine.
If we could get this house sold I would be able to sit in the garden. Never mind, at least we did not buy at the top of the market a couple of years ago so trying to think of it as a blessing in disguise.
Hugs to everyone having a difficult time just now .
Good luck with the move mioliere."This site is addictive!"

MSD - the perils of skim reading - how did Treacle get covered in wax?
I am trying frantically to remember where I came across an anecdote of a cat falling into a tub of leg wax...

Afternoon everyone!
How are you all - I've been away for nearly a fortnight, so a lot to catch up on. It's scary how much I missed the PC when I was away. Haven't read today's thread yet, so no idea who's done what or anything.
It's a lovely day here in the Hebrides, sun is shining and there's a gentle breeze. I managed to get two loads of washing out on the line before heading into work, so I'm hoping that the jeans especially will be dry when I get homethere's nothing worse than having to catch up with the washing and ironing when you've been away for a while.
Going to have a salad of some description for tea tonight, as we're fed up with eating out, having done it for the last few nights.
The cupboards have been topped up with lots of supplies from the shops I can't access from here. But need to have a good sort out and rotate some stock! also was lucky enough to get to Ikea too and get some bits and pieces
Right, going to catch up with a few threads now.
Enjoy the rest of the day!0 -
i'm so glad that i bothered to cook some lunch after yesterdays fiasco at the sandwich shop, it took me nearly an hour to get something edible back to my desk!!!!
i really do need to pop the hoover over tonight, and come up with a really strict budget, as i am saving for a house, and need a boost to the deposit fund...
i also need to get through some uni work as i am only 2 essaies away from a degree.... i cannot wait to finish

I had just blown out a scented candle which was full of molten wax and she decided to walk by it and knock it so it tipped all down her side. It obviously didn't reach her skin as she didn't make a noise and just continued out of the room. I was busy trying to clean up the mess and didn't even notice til she came back in the room that her right side had a huge splash and big blobs of wax, deep into her fur!
By the way, you didn't miss it by skim reading - I talked about it on either Sat or Sundays thread, can't remember which.. :rotfl: :rotfl:
