No really, the postponement of the court is possibly the best thing, as it gives YOU time to find out EXACTLY what the court hearing is about, and what is likely to be the outcome.
A meeting with the revenue ?? It sounds like the company has not been paying VAT/PAYE/NI/corporation tax then. The Revenue will try to get some payment terms from the company, or if the company is well and truly done for, then they WILL enforce payment liability on the directors. However, HMRC are aware you can't get blood from a stone, and are quite likely to try to negotiate some sort of manageable payment terms (altho that will depend how long this has gone on for, and whether the company has co-operated so far). They do prefer to make an arrangement to get the money, rather than just bankrupt everyone, cutting off any chance of payment.
So all MAY NOT be lost.
Is OH not talking to you because he already knows what's happening, and doesn't want you to know, or is it headless chicken behaviour?
Good luck, my love.I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say.0 -
Just caught up on the last few days. Bloody hell mrs. WHat a time of it you are having. No wonder you want to swear. I want to swear for you. IT's so annoying when men do the head in the sand thing. My ex was like that and I don't know how many times I had to save his neck for various reasons. I held everything together and juggled and juggled for years to try and keep going. UNknown to me he had continued gambling behind my back again and then he left me because he was ' fed up hurting me with his actions'. THat was a joke  as 6 weeks later I discovered he had another woman lol. I can laugh now. Reading all the bits that you have written I can't help wondering if your hubby knows more than he is letting on but is so terrified of mucking up his life at home even further that he is deliberately putting his head in the sand. Hopefully not. Just really want you to know that I am thinking of you and wishing you well. Lots of good advice from people so far. You will get through this xx5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60
Currently CC £23,674.36 /£14,895.41/£14315.42
Mortgage £28,214.65/ £26,254.71/ £25,746.43
By end 2020 I want CC at £ 19,000.00.
By end 2021 I want CC at £10,000.000 -

after much shouting and stamping of feet [on my part] Brilliant - well done you
OH has called and found out that the court hearing has been postponed for monday. Postponed until when?
there is a meeting with HM Revenue at some point in the next week. Again when and who's going and who agreed this?
GGGRRRR!!!!!! i cant put the words on here that i would like to but &*&()&)&)&)&)&)^$$%£%£! Test1cles and meat grinder are good words
Apparently they have no plan and are going to form a plan during the week. !!!!!! i just dont get it. Who is they? Where and when is the plan meeting? What role are you and OH taking? Do you need separate representation if they are breaking away?
i CROSS as the most cross person on this whole planet. We all share the wrath on your behalf. Remeber the old style board - test1cles and meat grinder with a nice tomato sauce will make a tasy dinner for a family on a budget!
Mrscmr imho OH has now lost the plot. He's not thinking straight and someone needs to step in - that's you. You are highly intelligent, business savvy, articulate and organised. Instead of yelling anymore, can you sit him down and offer to take the world off his shoulders...you lead and he'll probably follow.
Where I'd start in terms of trying to sort this out is to work out where you currently are and what the next steps may be. I'd do it by asking the journalist questions - your area of expertise. Think of this as comms problem, you need to explain the situation to a third party who knows nothing of the history or current issues.
