well egg seem to be in an agreeable mood. agreed over the phone to drop credit card payment to £140 with freezed interest and charges and for 6 months and that good and then drop the loan payment to £200 a month from £400. waiting for a phone call to confirm this and get the letter. then moved on to lloydstsb for loans x 3 and cc. well 2 loans have ppi on them so went through to that dept - have to wait 15 days from when i reg as unemployed but i already registered as that earlier in the year [now im all confused so registered again] then ring again and then they assess me blah blah. so what will happen is that ppi will cover 2 loan repaymetns for 12 months if all well. then OH loan which is £500 a month and the cc which is £200 a month - lloyds tsb man say have to speak to cccs and that they have to write a letter to lloyds and that he [mr lloydstsb] cannot agree / negotiate a lower payment in the short term and that he is doing this by the book [hmm not read that book myself].
so egg and chelt and glos = agreeable, lloydstsb = are bum heads. tomorrow halifax and mbna i think, then black horse.
soo bought cola today for 17p in morrisons instead of £1+ for real cocola. and DS1 said its fine! result!

Well done Mrscmr. Great result...but isn't it ridiculous how the same bank under different guises may well come up with different answers.
C&G, Halifax, Lloydstsb and Black Horse are all Lloyds Group!

why thank you lurker! much appreciated. good luck with ur job interviews - hope it works out.
well just been food shopping at morrisons - cupboards were getting bare. grim grim grim... i have gone from someone who buys branded premium food - what ever we wanted was no problem. now we did a weeks food shopping for £41 - shame of it - i just wanted to cry - woman at till then said oh have you had a voucher book? and gave us one and said we got another £4 off so it came to £37 pounds. i used to spend about £200 a week on shopping - no longer though. x
Why is this grim? Because you realise how much money you were wasting before when you spening £200 on food a week, or because you are having to downshift brands so you can eat? Don't cry over it celebrate that you have learnt to see passed the premium brand hype, and buy what is good food for your family regardless of cost.
And WHEN (not if cos i have faith), your sort out this stuff with OH business, you will be able to continue being frugal so that you pay the debts off faster than you otherwise would have done. So win win eh?
And yes kissjen i will chivvy during the night as I am in New Zealand.
Oh and kissjen that list holy moly that is awesome :T. Something to show your OH to make him realise how complicated this winding up of the business is.
I think you need to take some legal advice now that you have got a breathing space cos court has been postponed. OH has got to look out for the family now.
good luck with getting through this week

ps just saw the bit about being given the note with the money in. AWWWWW how sweet is that. Bless.I want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

mrsc - we have downshifted brands and on most things haven't noticed - on some like beans we just went back to the original brand. We also now use far more ready sliced frozen food - like mixed peppers, mushrooms - even onions, spinach, brocolli etc - much cheaper and far less waste... it does reduce your food bill....Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
